There is definitely a lot of anti-NATO/USA/UK attitudes in southern Europe, I used to live in Spain and as a Brit I got the distinct impression that most Spaniards had the view that the problems of the world are alllll due to US hegemony - and by extension the UK/anglosphere and NATO. There were pro-Russian feelings even then when I lived in Spain (2010s) enhanced by increases in Russians migrating and settling in Spain. With Spain, I think the colonial rivalry with England fosters a great antithesis to the Anglosphere, which obviously supplanted Spanish and French dominance. It doesn't surprise me that many in southern Europe have anti NATO and more pro-Russian opinions. They are ripe for Russian propaganda. I hope you reeducate them!

The problem is that most people here are just absolutely clueless about Russia. We learn so much about American history in school. American culture and American history are omnipresent in media and culture. And the US does indeed have some dark spots in its history like slavery, the native American genocide, the Vietnam and Iraq wars. The problem is that people see all these bad parts about the US and get to the utterly wrong conclusion that somehow the US is worse than Russia, because they are absolutely clueless about Russia. A friend who was born in Russia (She's a US Naval Officer, very pro-Ukrainian) she flew at TOPGUN, and as a test pilot flew MiG-29s, Su-27s etc. Putin in his younger days idolized Russian test pilots even since they visited East Germany in the 80s, including her father (who flew MiG-25s and MiG-31s.) You can imagine the irony of the young girl at airshows in East Germany, (and Moscow, being the same pilot who is flying F-16s, including those with a Ukrainian F-16 pilot on her wing. I am sure that Putin's children are not living next door to me. I live in a fairly middle class one story house with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. I grew up in a house that for a very long time had two bedrooms and one bathroom and I shared a bedroom with my brother who was 6 years younger than me until I was about 14 years old. No rich people around here. Slightly higher chances in the town I grew up in, but not the side of town that I grew up in. And honestly there are richer towns in Massachusetts than Westwood... Or at least when I lived there and I was in junior high, a classmate told me there were 14 rooms in her house and I thought that was a lot. I didn't think it was important. I thought it was bragging. But I didn't think it wasn't true. But at least her house didn't have like 52 rooms in it. I guess it's possible that by now it does. I've seen pictures on Zillow when our house went up for sale last time and some places I can't even figure out where in the house they would be. It's been expanded all over the place. So maybe the 14 room house has as well. But not this neighborhood down here in Florida. I mean who could afford it with the cost of property insurance?

My Dad knew from his Ukrainian good upbringing that women are to be respected... I am so pleased that my father cared so deeply and with complete loyalty for my mother, and they had such a mutually respectful relationship for all of their years together. No one needed a new (or younger) model, nor would that even be a thing where true love like theirs existed.
First Ladies like Olena Zelenska have my utmost respect. They have excellent rapport with the population/public, and their privacy is respected because they clearly have nothing to hide.

A friend who was born in Russia (She's a US Naval Officer, very pro-Ukrainian) she flew at TOPGUN, and as a test pilot flew MiG-29s, Su-27s etc.
Putin in his younger days idolized Russian test pilots even since they visited East Germany in the 80s, including her father (who flew MiG-25s and MiG-31s.)
You can imagine the irony of the young girl at airshows in East Germany, (and Moscow, being the same pilot who is flying F-16s, including those with a Ukrainian F-16 pilot on her wing.

I am sure that Putin's children are not living next door to me. I live in a fairly middle class one story house with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. I grew up in a house that for a very long time had two bedrooms and one bathroom and I shared a bedroom with my brother who was 6 years younger than me until I was about 14 years old. No rich people around here. Slightly higher chances in the town I grew up in, but not the side of town that I grew up in. And honestly there are richer towns in Massachusetts than Westwood... Or at least when I lived there and I was in junior high, a classmate told me there were 14 rooms in her house and I thought that was a lot. I didn't think it was important. I thought it was bragging. But I didn't think it wasn't true. But at least her house didn't have like 52 rooms in it. I guess it's possible that by now it does. I've seen pictures on Zillow when our house went up for sale last time and some places I can't even figure out where in the house they would be. It's been expanded all over the place. So maybe the 14 room house has as well. But not this neighborhood down here in Florida. I mean who could afford it with the cost of property insurance?
