So I just installed a new hub and brake kit. I put it back on there and it rubs a little bit but when I engage the brake it will still spin. I dont have my brake pedal hooked up since its gutted so Im pulling on the brake cables by hand. Should it stop the hub when you hit the brakes or does it still turn just with alot more friction?
On my club car ds when I apply the brakes the pedal moves about 3/4 of an inch then they lock up a sqeal the tires . I have taken the brake drum off cleaned and adjusted put the wheel back on and the same thing happens. The drum are clean and smooth on both sides but the brakes continue to lock up. I have purchased the brake cluster but I'm trying to avoid installing them. Any ideas on a course of action before I pull the axles?
You mentioned maybe the spring is worn out. When I press the brake pedal on mine, that bar jumps the cog. Does that mean the whole assembly needs to be replaced?
2020 Club Tempo and the you can barely push the cart. Pulled the hubs off, however the cog will not go up to loosen. It will only go down to tighten. Already so tight I can't get the hub back on. Any advice? Great Video.
@@mikemorrison5943 I have a set of brakes on a precedent that I need to loosen. If I get to it I will post it. Same cart. There is a little arm that pushes the adjuster to spread the shoes when you press on the brake pedal. however once the drum is off you will spin the axle till the hole on the flange is down low. Then take a flat head screw driver to lift the arm while spinning the adjuster by hand.
I think I understand what you are saying. I tried pushing the arm back, but couldn't budget it, but I will give this a shot and see what happens. Appreciate the help
I feel random "drag" or what feels like resistance when cruising. checked out clutch and replaced drive and starter belts, and flushed and refilled gear oil. still feel the issue. Maybe this (your vid) is my problem?
I notice this happens when the pads wear and the stop jumps the cog, All it takes is a few more hours with the drag and the pads wear in even worse, I wouldn't be surprised that when you adjust the pedal with limited play like you have the next heavy braking and or hard parking break set the cog will get unaligned again. Do all golf carts have drum brakes? Drum brakes seem like old technology. Do carts have brakes on the front axle? Have you ever heard of golf carts having disc brakes? I think that if I were to upgrade the motor to something better than stock that I would want 4 wheel brakes.
Big thanks! I learned a lot from you. And I like the fact that you get right down to business without a whole lot of gab.😊
Thanks dude you saved me a ton of headache showing how that adjustment wheel works
Great video. Currently have same problem. Thanks
Excellent video! Very detailed and thorough.
Great video and info…I have a 2011 precedent….this gives me a good starting point when diagnosing brake issues
Thanks dude this was helpful for me.

I just replaced the MCOR on my club car, and when I put the pedals back on, the brakes were sticking. What would cause that? Cable?

Nice video bud. You know so much about precedents which is what I have. I only have a few liked videos and 90 percent are yours

So my club cart 1988 back tires will not turn I jacked it up and the tires turn. What do you think might be the problem? Heeeeelp

you should be able to spin the adjuster backwards to loosen up the brakes a tad.
Doesn't budget. Turns forward really easily, but it will not budge backwards.

Great Video bro, I own a Yamaha drive 2, but I’m hoping their similar. My cart also tends to stop the way yours was. 👍👍👍

Great tip on brakes, need to check my wife's 04 precedent.. ✌
Tight Work Hoss !!

Quick fix....Thank you sir!
Im not understanding how the cog works in adjustment but its pushed everytime the brakes are applied
did you every figure this out?
Great video!
Thanks!
Thank you, I appreciate that!
You're gonna toss some new pads on and grease up that adjuster before I buy that cart right?.....lol jk
This cart maybe getting a make over real soon.

Some of the newer chinese golf carts have 4 wheel disc brakes. There are disc brake upgrades as well.
They are brake shoes not pads.
