Hmm well. Kiril wouldn’t have the same reason to revive Elluka cuz she wasn’t dead, and in the process wouldn’t blow up Levianta. However Irina is still a HER and they’d probably still live with or around her, and Irina is still jealous of Elluka. If either Kiril or Elluka died, Levia and Behemo could take advantage of the other or even Irina, to revive and cause the explosion. Alternatively Elluka could cure Irina’s HERs and she’d be less murdery. However Seth or anyone else could still kill one of them and Seth would because he wants to cause bad stuff. He’d probably try and kill Elluka or Irina so they have the eternal rivalry but say Irina’s HERs were cured and/or someone else died and became immortal during the explosion. Instead of Rivalry we could’ve had an immortal power duo. If it was Irina and Elluka you’d get the same outcome as canon, if it was Cured!Irina abd Elluka, unless Irina was reinfected by HERs they might not even realise each other were alive. If they did they could collect the vessels of sins together (potentially having drama on the way) or maybe Irina does her own thing. If it were a Irina who died and was revived then I think Seth would revive Kiril as a former HER. Revived Irina and Kiril might have the same dynamic as Canon Elluka and Irina. Held would request Irina (secretly Levia and Behemo) to collect sins whilst Kiril idk misremembers events causing him to seek vengeance on his sister. That or they just vibe. Same with Elluka and Kiril I can’t be bothered to write. Then the story would be the same with seven vessels causing disaster. However if no one died and the leviathan catastrophic never happened then Adam and Eve wouldn’t have abandoned Hansel and Gretel. The twins still have HERs so they might be murdery when they find out their adopted. But if they don’t then the seven deadly sins are never scattered. So if Elluka, Irina, and Eve never die, the seven sins are never scattered. Irina might have her children or they might be stillborn (if she dies see previous predictions) and if they live then they might become Levia and Behemo and may probably have HERs which might mean they cause a disaster on their own Oop. But if they don’t by some miracle then the sins are not scattered, and Irina and Elluka are not immortal. I think Levia and Behemo would reincarnation tho, and maybe Hansel and Gretel tho I’m not sure. Each story without the presence of the sins or Elluka and Irina might go like this (ignoring the presence of Levia and Behemo who might make things go like the canon). Venomania murdered everyone in his house then takes his own life. It is a tragedy and Gumina is mortified by her hand in it. Karchess and Yufina would have eloped on their own and Eve would not have reincarnated into Mikulia. There would be no children from the incident. This means Banica would not have been born and even if she did, her family wouldn’t have died and she’d probably travel the world with her fiancé Carlos, and possibly Arte and Pollo (dunno how murdery they’d be but it’s probably fine). The Lucifenian revolution would probably be hindered by the absence of Elluka but they could still win, although Mariam may or may not be a soldier then servant as she would have never been kidnapped. Arth would still be reanimated by Lich and Prim would still hate him and Anne, but she wouldn’t be able to do anything about it maybe. Alexiel and Riliane would grow up and Ney wouldn’t have been born due the Prim being less capable, and Alexial would probably him and his twin co rulers cuz he can. Germaine could still exist as long as Banica did, and Rilliane would still betrothed to Kyle who might still reject her for her youth but be rejected Michaela who might be reincarnated solely because she likes Clarith and Held was feeling generous, and maybe we can resurrect Gumillia too cuz she’s cool. Michaela and Clarith work for the freezis until Clarith dies in which Michaela and Gumillia return to the forest. Rilliane does not genocide anything and Lucifenia is prosperous. Kyle turns Marlon into a democracy because he don’t want to be king and goes of to be a painter living with Yukina who still writes fairytales. Rilliane probably adopts orphans including Ney and Lemy. There is no Pere Noel and Dr Felix’s wife and child die and that’s it. There is no terrorist groups in Jakoku because they were started by Irina so, Kayo Sudou’s family as well as the Miroku family is safe. Although Kayo’s family may not exist as descendants of Venomania. Maybe Lukana Octo had other children? There is no Ma so there is no Gallerian and maybe witches are prosecuted but the PN and they might have a harder time doing things but they get it done. There is no Michelle or Nemesis and the Titanis doesn’t sink and Tony is imprisoned for killing shiro, and the world doesn’t explode and there’s no theatre and everyone gets the Heavenly ending the end :). This is a highly idealised good ending

Hmm well. Kiril wouldn’t have the same reason to revive Elluka cuz she wasn’t dead, and in the process wouldn’t blow up Levianta. However Irina is still a HER and they’d probably still live with or around her, and Irina is still jealous of Elluka. If either Kiril or Elluka died, Levia and Behemo could take advantage of the other or even Irina, to revive and cause the explosion. Alternatively Elluka could cure Irina’s HERs and she’d be less murdery. However Seth or anyone else could still kill one of them and Seth would because he wants to cause bad stuff. He’d probably try and kill Elluka or Irina so they have the eternal rivalry but say Irina’s HERs were cured and/or someone else died and became immortal during the explosion. Instead of Rivalry we could’ve had an immortal power duo. If it was Irina and Elluka you’d get the same outcome as canon, if it was Cured!Irina abd Elluka, unless Irina was reinfected by HERs they might not even realise each other were alive. If they did they could collect the vessels of sins together (potentially having drama on the way) or maybe Irina does her own thing. If it were a Irina who died and was revived then I think Seth would revive Kiril as a former HER. Revived Irina and Kiril might have the same dynamic as Canon Elluka and Irina. Held would request Irina (secretly Levia and Behemo) to collect sins whilst Kiril idk misremembers events causing him to seek vengeance on his sister. That or they just vibe. Same with Elluka and Kiril I can’t be bothered to write. Then the story would be the same with seven vessels causing disaster.
However if no one died and the leviathan catastrophic never happened then Adam and Eve wouldn’t have abandoned Hansel and Gretel. The twins still have HERs so they might be murdery when they find out their adopted. But if they don’t then the seven deadly sins are never scattered.
So if Elluka, Irina, and Eve never die, the seven sins are never scattered. Irina might have her children or they might be stillborn (if she dies see previous predictions) and if they live then they might become Levia and Behemo and may probably have HERs which might mean they cause a disaster on their own Oop.
But if they don’t by some miracle then the sins are not scattered, and Irina and Elluka are not immortal. I think Levia and Behemo would reincarnation tho, and maybe Hansel and Gretel tho I’m not sure. Each story without the presence of the sins or Elluka and Irina might go like this (ignoring the presence of Levia and Behemo who might make things go like the canon).
Venomania murdered everyone in his house then takes his own life. It is a tragedy and Gumina is mortified by her hand in it. Karchess and Yufina would have eloped on their own and Eve would not have reincarnated into Mikulia. There would be no children from the incident.
This means Banica would not have been born and even if she did, her family wouldn’t have died and she’d probably travel the world with her fiancé Carlos, and possibly Arte and Pollo (dunno how murdery they’d be but it’s probably fine).
The Lucifenian revolution would probably be hindered by the absence of Elluka but they could still win, although Mariam may or may not be a soldier then servant as she would have never been kidnapped. Arth would still be reanimated by Lich and Prim would still hate him and Anne, but she wouldn’t be able to do anything about it maybe. Alexiel and Riliane would grow up and Ney wouldn’t have been born due the Prim being less capable, and Alexial would probably him and his twin co rulers cuz he can. Germaine could still exist as long as Banica did, and Rilliane would still betrothed to Kyle who might still reject her for her youth but be rejected Michaela who might be reincarnated solely because she likes Clarith and Held was feeling generous, and maybe we can resurrect Gumillia too cuz she’s cool. Michaela and Clarith work for the freezis until Clarith dies in which Michaela and Gumillia return to the forest. Rilliane does not genocide anything and Lucifenia is prosperous. Kyle turns Marlon into a democracy because he don’t want to be king and goes of to be a painter living with Yukina who still writes fairytales. Rilliane probably adopts orphans including Ney and Lemy.
There is no Pere Noel and Dr Felix’s wife and child die and that’s it.
There is no terrorist groups in Jakoku because they were started by Irina so, Kayo Sudou’s family as well as the Miroku family is safe. Although Kayo’s family may not exist as descendants of Venomania. Maybe Lukana Octo had other children?
There is no Ma so there is no Gallerian and maybe witches are prosecuted but the PN and they might have a harder time doing things but they get it done. There is no Michelle or Nemesis and the Titanis doesn’t sink and Tony is imprisoned for killing shiro, and the world doesn’t explode and there’s no theatre and everyone gets the Heavenly ending the end :).

42Caio (Caio Esteves) Just because the Demon of Lust is male doesn't mean he couldn't at one time present as a woman, especially since memories get nuked. And again, Seth somehow got out. If he did, so can others. It explains FAR better why Gluttony would know what the fuck vaccines are instead of "somehow had memories from before." And just because no other MA had a connection doesn't mean much, either, when we have Irina and Elluka here, too.
+AnakhaSilver There do indeed appear a couple of things that look like the words for sin that appear in brief flashes during the middle section where it shows everyone in their element (Milky with Pale, Ly at dinner, the Clockworkers together), though not /every/ word corresponds to a deadly sin - or at least not the ones officially recognized today. It lines up like this:
Milky: 強欲 (Greed) 色欲 (Lust)
Ly: 虚飾 (Ostentation)* 暴食 (Gluttony)**
Irina: 憂鬱 (Dejection)* 憤怒 (Wrath)
Elluka: 怠惰 (Sloth) 傲慢 (Pride)
* Word translations by Pricechecktranslations
** Oddly, the correct term for gluttony is used in this case, rather than the 悪食 that Mothy tends to use.
Disclaimer before I go into speculation land: I am not a religious scholar to any degree, and this is based off an hour of basic research. I do not and would not know of all the nuances involved with the history behind what we now call the Seven Deadly Sins.
Prior to Pope Gregory I creating the list of the Seven Deadly Sins, there had been several other classifications of evil thoughts and sinful acts, among them the list by the monk Evagrius Ponticus. He listed off eight temptations that were later translated into Latin and spread through the church by his pupil. The eight temptations are very similar to what we have today with a few differences: Tristitia (sorrow/despair) and Vanagloria (vanity/unwarranted boasting) were classified on their own, and envy was not a separate temptation. (Though I've read some claims that it was considered a part of sorrow, as in despairing over your neighbor's good fortune.)
When Pope Gregory I refined the list, he merged Tristitia with Acedia, merged Vanagloria with Superbia, and added Invidia as its own sin. While these would be further debated and refined over the next centuries, the basic foundation stayed the same.
Odd as it is to see Envy excluded in the PV list, if Mothy made it with Evagrius's list in mind, it makes enough sense to me, and it explains the descriptions for Irina and Ly.
TL;DR: Yes, there is some kind of association of these characters with sins, even if only in the broad sense that they are flawed people. The million-dollar question is, does this actually have any plot significance, or is Mothy just putting in descriptive words? I'm leaning towards the latter for now because there's nothing else to really go on.
Tsunamiracle Even beyond what you said, there is also familiar objects and Mothy confirmed on Twitter Ly's blades are the Twin Blades. Ly also has two large, golden-rimmed mirrors and a red wine glass, while Milky uses a sword. It's interesting.
