Not all Americans are ignorant of Australian drag or the references you amazing queens bring to this franchise, some of us enjoy it and want to see more of it so please y’all keep doing what y’all do best and Americans will follow, we just have a weird problem of being judgmental and that drag race is what the standard of drag is, I’ve been doing drag for 18 years and I will tell you Aussie drag is better than most American drag
They really should’ve got Courtney Act to host the season, I know Ru is mad at Courtney for calling Ru out on her transphobia but she really needs to grow up considering her actual age
@@highonsugar6273 Aussies and Kiwis are quite sensitive about being left out and overlooked by "big players", so if Ru were not to host _Down Under_ herself, many people would see it as a snub and not watch it. Sure, Ru's unfamiliarity with Australasian culture and drag has its pitfalls, but Ru's presence is honestly necessary for the show to be successful down under.
It always bothered me that Ru and Michelle to an extent never got Australian drag. I think it was a big issue in season one so hopefully it’s better. The two of them understand and get the UK drag scene more so than other scenes so it was fine for them to be on UK but I never got how every other competition had a host from that area except DU
See I don't feel the same for uk. They miss so much and only love the queen's who are very americanised. As a uk queen myself I share your aussie frustrations

So glad Art is doing this to help us U.S. viewers understand the references and nuances of drag “down under”. I watch all the international franchises, and honestly, I think it makes much more sense for them to be hosted and judged by folks from each country. Ru and Michelle should stick to the U.S. . Also looking forward to meeting more Australian queens brought on to guest host by Art. Although I really enjoyed getting to see more of Jojo, it’s fun to meet other queens who haven’t been on Drag Race that I might never get to see otherwise. Well done, Art!
Hey Art, thanks for starting this series, i really appreciate a local drag queen's aspect of the DRDU, as we don't really get that from the show, because it's judged by two Americans. At least in UK series we have 2 seasoned gay icons (and usually a British guest) that can interject and enlighten us a bit more about the British outlook but in DRDU i unfortunately feel like it is completely stripped from its local taste and instead completely playing to the American/international audience and I don't appreciate that. I wish they had at least one person coming from the down under drag scene on the panel who can give us some comments about your drag culture, this black panty thing was absolutely fascinating. Keep it up ladies, I'll be watching

This was great, I really enjoyed it! Only problem is the sound, and I’m sorry cos I know it’s hard to fix but may as well mention this. Pashion’s was less crackly than yours Art, and it’s improved since the last ep so that’s great! But there was a problem with the equalisation (I think) where Arts voice is coming out of the right speaker mostly and Pashions the left speaker. Arts voice was also a lot louder than Pashions (too loud) - if there’s any way to get your voices same volume and through both speakers that would be fantastic :)

If I don't know a reference-Google exists!! And will send me down a rabbit hole of expanding my knowledge base. Plus, "my fellow Americans" need to get occasional reality checks that the whole world doesn't revolve around US. As a Yank, I loved the idea of foreign spinoffs cuz I wanted to see what drag looked like in those countries, and you're absolutely right. We're not getting that country's drag, we're getting Amercanized drag with a hint of that country. I really saw it on the first season of DRDU, and it's not improving so far💜
