I guess the homage is nice but I find it funny the people making a big deal about that part of it. Exo-force was around for only a couple of waves. Not super successful for Lego but whatever.
Yeaaah, Exo-Force, it was set 7700 "Stealth Hunter". I've actually got that one. Really wish I'd been able to collect more of the Exo-Force sets, they were pretty cool!
I'm a sucker for LEGO roller coasters, but that arcade really raises the value on that one. Between this and some 3-in-1 sets of recent years, they've made it so you can make a pretty decent amusement park without spending $200-$400 per set.
This needs a rubber wheel stop where minifigures wait their turn to ride the coaster. I would really like someone, either you Alex or someone else to mod this to make it motorized and stop for new passengers and be sprung forward.
I was thinking of the same thing, I have some ideas for a small rubber stopper that stops the train at the platform using some extra pieces from another set. I'm waiting for a sale to get my hands on this to experiment
I think that Lego nailed it last year with the video game tournament truck. It was definitely my favorite city set of the year. I think that set would go great with this one (anesthetics-wise)! I can't wait to see what other plans Lego has, whether it's them continuing to tap into this realm of video games or perhaps maybe something else!
Awesome set! The best part is the arcade 0:30 Officially the reason is because of buying habits of consumers in the US, which apparently is different than Europe. Still annoying though 1:55 the robot character appeared in the Lego City TV show 2:40 The mech is an exoforce mech, its pretty cool 3:22 Someone should combine all three roller coasters into one big ine with different areas/themes 4:50 Actually a fun idea, impressive that its sturdy enough to do that 6:00 😅 good point 6:20 this game (and the big screen) is a reference to Bionicle 6:30 The game is a reference to ultra agents, its features one of the sets (70162), and the Ultra Agents logo. Ultra Agents is my favorite retired theme, so I love this reference, its my favorite part of the set 6:35 this is a reference to Alien Conquest (set 7052) The kiosk is cool The set is good value, it should be a little cheaper though Great review
The Robots from Exoforce!!! The two arcade cabs were Ultra Agents and Alien Conquest nods! The slushy Penquin was also a nod to the designers first set
I agree with you on the safety issue, looks really scary to play at the arcade while the rollercoaster is running.Very col arcade though, love that space game as the aliens look just like the aliens Lego used to make.
How does this new arcade/alien rollercoaster compare to the space-themed rollercoaster in terms of functionality? What are some of the pros and cons of each set?
We just got the space rollercoaster 3 in 1 and I think that it is a really beautiful set, but this Robot World seems to me so much more fun to play with. It also looks like like tremendous value specially when online stores start selling it with a discount. The roller coaster is fun the arcade is great, you get the extra mech. What is not to like?! Thanks for the review.
Nifty review of nifty set! 😊 Hey as far as placement: would you consider moving the haunted house? I realize this is the amusement park haunted house -- I have the "really haunted" house (Monster Fighters) -- but wonder if it could then be placed in a different spot...maybe a custom "haunted hill" built-up over-hanging your table -- a easy on/off structure that can be removed when needed...highest point if and overlooking the entire park. Idk. This is my first time suggesting a placement (on any AFOL channel). It's YOUR city Alex -- looking forward as always to new additions and changes.
Thanks for that suggestion. It does have me thinking. I like that idea of a high hanging cliff with the haunted house. I'll need to get a bit creative on that to make it all work. Thanks!
I like this set because it seems to match up thematically with the recent Friends arcade sets. Love the 80s neon color choices. Will probably ditch the lame robot mech when I build it though.
Can't help but notice one of the big game screens there is a Bionicle fighting game, looks like Toa Tahu fighting a Bohrok. :D Looks like a pretty cool set.
I heard someone say release date differences are retailer driven but I’m sketchy on the particulars. This would be a great question for your LAN contacts. Inquiring minds want to know! :-) Great review! Thanks
I'll be sure to ask, but I am not sure I'll get a reply that's fully honest. I want to say it is a resource issue with more factories and ability to mass produce in EU countries.
The exoforce throwback is nice. Glad they found some use of ugly Stuntz pieces. LEGO should definitely keep coming out with these themed roller coasters 🎢. I don’t understand why LEGO latches onto the August first release for North America. In a perfect world there would be December, March, June and October releases. I would prefer just December and June personally. It just becomes a distribution nightmare for the LEGO warehouse staff
Great and helpful review Alex, Thank you ☺️ Looks like a really nice and colourful set at a very good price and value. Your review may have persuaded me to get one. I might even try to automate it using a similar method to the original white coaster 🤔
I like the rollercoaster. The blue and black reminds me of Tron and the robot minifigure is neat. As for the big robot build it doesn’t really seem to fit in the build to me.
Alex, to answer that question bluntly, it has to do with the US Governments regulations regarding imported toys. LEGO are imported toys and not made in the US. When there are new LEGO releases, almost the rest of the world receives it first, and then the US is last. I have heard one of the reasons has to do with how US retailers want their stores receiving new inventory at certain times of the year that are different from the rest of the world. I call baloney(substitute for another bad word since you have very young ppl following your channel)! Our Government has a lot of nonsense red tape regarding toy imports.
No the mech is a reference to lego exo force back in 2005-2007-2009 era so exo force i own that mech so yesh its a reference not some random mech get your facts right ok
The robot is from the ExoForce theme. I know there are people who was excited to see the homage to ExoForce.
Ah, yes! Of course. Thanks for letting me know.
I’ve use my ExoForce mechs to battle herofactory kaiju in my city.

For 8 minifigs and a solid structure, 100$ is a good deal. 😃👍
This has more stories/scenes to tell when compared with the space rollercoaster, maybe replace that one using this for now?

Looking forward to you placing it in your arcade theme park layout!!
would be cool if the robot dj had a daft punk esque helmet
Cool coaster. With the opportunity to have a coaster, arcade and a mech, this may be the first coaster I purchase.
We can’t wait to snag this one for our MOC LEGO Theme Park!!
This is a great set. And $100 seems like a steal. I’m expecting to see this in your amusement park. I think there’s some farmland for sale nearby
100% agree that this is a great value. I really like that there is so much to it.
Such an awesome set! I'll be picking this one up for sure.

Awesome! So many connections to other sets and themes. I don't know all the references so I appreciate other fans letting me know.
Dude, we get it. Lego likes to do call outs on past failed themes. Chill out LOL

Didn't know about the back part, now this set will be on my bucket list. Thanks for the review.
The mech is a referrence to the Exo-Force line and is clearly a modernised version of one of the mechs from the first wave.
5:00 No, you can never ever have too much fun with Lego, can you? 🤣😂🥰 That's a nice (and cheap) automation method, Alex! 😎

I wonder if that 2 month difference between release dates will change once they open the factory in Richmond VA
I hope so. My guess is that it was a resource issue. City sets always seem to suffer from it.
Looks good. I like the colors of this set. Did you figure out if you are going to put it into your City?
1:59: That's a major antagonist in the series "No Limits" called "No Face"
Awesome! Thanks for telling me this. I don't know all the references so I appreciate other fans letting me in on the connections.

I really love the lime green track. Do you know why they pushed the release date in North America?
Not sure, but I will ask them. My guess is they are unable to mass produce as quickly with certain sets. Maybe the new factory will help with that.
Can you connect this to the Lego city rollercoaster?
The long wait is so DUMB. They should just make it available world wide.
Agreed. One month is bad enough, but two!?
Yes
😂l
Yes
Yeah sad that America has to wait 😢 well at least you got yours early and I can get mine at shops now!😅

When people mentioned it was nexo knight, I thought it was a strange thing to add. Just let it die, LEGO!
Is there a way we can unite this unit with other roller coaster ?
I don't see why not.
