Back in the 80's my place of work had a cricket net. If the bowler had a run up of more than three paces they had to start on a raised traffic island, drop down a kerb, cross a car park access road, jump up another kerb and deliver. At least it mostly had a net though.
I played at Merchant's Taylors on tour recently and the facilities are brilliant (indoor nets are the best I've seen) and the wicket played like a mid season pitch even after all the rain recently.
@@danjadzz it’s a long story as my club is new and developing and we’ve taken over the old ground of a club now folded. The nets look very similar to Slinden, the Astro turf on our wicket however is something to behold. The concrete has somehow warped so the surface is no longer flat.
The club I play at has a terrible net although it has a net but the surface is a mat that is out on top of graves as the chap who put it in was an undertaker
For the best net My cricket club is incredibly good 1 year old nets they have lines for Off Stump Middle Stump and Leg stump outdoors but are alweather You can play on them no matter how much it rains Especially for North England
I love how you use your "celebrity" to bring us stuff we'd otherwise never see, rather than getting yourself a sports car. (Looking at this comment, is it mean to add those quotation marks?)
Played an away school game there last season, absolutely beautiful square, there’s quite a few pitches so even the junior team I played in got a really nice pitch, it’s a long away game especially with traffic on the M25 but as a wicketkeeper those pitches are really great to play on so am looking forward to going back this season
Feels a bit wrong that most state school kids would be overjoyed with the worst option if you put a bit of astro on it, and the only reason the kids play in the best option is because their parents have got loadsamoney rather than any kind of talent. "Lovely shot Bertie, maybe we can stop your helmet falling of your chinless head by using a bit of tape. I've got your inhaler here"
Mate try Droitwich spa cricket club the bounce is either brilliant or it doesn’t bounce and it shoots up at u mate it’s also my club and I would love my favourite cricket RUclips channel to be at my club so if u do see this I would love to meet u there and bowl at u

Wow I’ve never heard of offices or employers having cricket facilities

Honestly absolutely unreal!
Private schools for you
Alphatauri time
Played a county youth game at merchant Taylors school many years ago and blimey it’s changed since was a road then looks belting now
Honestly out of this world 🔥
Dan, do you want a worse facility? At least the concrete at Slindon is largely flat.
Better than their wicket 🤣
Hit me, whatcha got?

Some ‘deadly’ deliveries there…
Both facilities are unique in their own way. But let's be honest, Merchant Taylor is absolutely amazing. Proper pro facility that.
I dunno Slindon was there first 😂
Dan the man. Love the content mate❤
Thanks legend!! 🫡
4:12 is literally us at school
The first net (without the net) is the perfect place for the England team to practice before the tour to India and the subcontinent. 😂😂
So that we don't go expecting the pitch to be seamer friendly and consistent?
Doing a bit out there 😂😂
Spin on da pitch will help 😂
Definitely something in it for the bowlers 😂
I love your channel Dan I try to like & comment on every video possible because your amazing
Thanks Harry! I really appreciate you 🙏

Go to outline cricket club in Huddersfield it pops up like crazy. The net holes are filled with zip ties 🤣
You should try Lukeys in Preston
I’ll add it to my list 💪
@@danjadzz it’s a good net

Think you might need to see our Astro. 😂
On the way!!

it definitely looks like it was 1731 haha
Might have been built in preparation for the 1731 season
can we wee the swale cricket comunity nets, cause they are a lovely facility, ud love it
Where is Swale in the world?
Not saying my school was poorly funded but we used to have to practice on the long jump run up which was not ideal for me as wicket keeper
Ha it’s honestly wild to compare the differences!
Great video ❤
Who was the guy bowling?
My brother
Can’t believe the school, imagine getting to play cricket there

I go to Merchant Taylors’ and I wake up everyday knowing how blessed I am.
bro please pin me
Or what?
The reason why the nets are so bad so they don't have to train usually that's why.
If you thinks that bad you haven’t been to plock court in Gloucester
Maybe I need a visit 💪
Not as bad as that though
