Paez is the D linemen I'm most excited about. I love Wisconsin linemen (O and D both). That program oozes toughness across the lines. You are absolutely right about his mentality coming in. I definitely took note of that interview when he announced the transfer. Can't wait for USC in Vegas...

There was a time when players came to lsu and needed to develop through playing time, Paul would send them to LSUE & Delgado to develop for 2 years then come into lsu and smash balls and through strikes

Kade Anderson is not a junior this was his freshman year so 25 will be his sophomore year and all these guys at these small colleges if they were so good they would be in D1 college
The majority of them are coming from D1 colleges…

I've enjoyed this show more than morning scone because this one is more concise. Don't get me wrong morning scone is fantastic. It just becomes extremely repetitive a lot of the same questions.

To be fair Speights dealt with a lot of injury issues and played through them while at LSU for his lone season
I'm not buying the 6th or 7th round grade for Jones. I'm not saying he goes high enough to leave. I'd love for him to come back, but a lot of people are overlooking the strides he made in his approach. He is not unlike a lot of modern power hitters in that he will swing at some really bad pitches at times, being a little overaggressive, but will still takes lots of walks while absolutely crushing mistakes. Last year, you could hang him a slider, and he'd miss it because he was sold out on the fastball. That wasn't the case this year.
And as far as his power goes, I think people are understating that tool. They talk about him being a power first guy, and just sort of lump him in with anyone who hits for power in a very general sense. But Jones has top of the scale power. The kind of strength where he can get fooled, be out on his front foot, and just muscle a ball out of any part of the park. That kind of power, along with showing that he could make significant improvements in one year to his approach, is going to get him drafted easily in the top 4 rounds, in my opinion. If he sets his number high enough, he may drop further, but only for that reason. We'll see, though.
