Not gonna lie, I was *so* invested in the Chao subplot in this randomizer. It's got everything: betrayal, adventure, fighting Eggman, breaking out of prison, and letting Sonic loose.
Fun Fact! The reason Metal Sonic doesn't perform any special attacks when you fight him in the final Sonic vs Shadow boss is probably because he wasn't programmed with any! The special attacks in rival bosses all come from the multiplayer modes, and Metal Sonic is the only character without said attacks, instead having a "Black Shield" that replaces his spin dash and makes him immune to others' attacks.
I think it's the turtle making that noise, and the reason why it sounds like Rouge is because Rouge is played by Lani Minella, who was the Voice Director for the English dub during this era. She also plays Omochao. So, basically, my guess is that they needed a random noise so she just made a random noise.
Nice. Excited for you to explore the chao garden. I wonder if there will be any difference to the actual gardens and the races/karate. I felt so bad for you playing as cosplaying eggman for that stage. Those last few areas are already bad enough, no reason for such a handicap. 😭
i don't know for sure but i think so! i noticed some other voice lines in the randomizer that i never heard before, perhaps its the same for those as well!
5:55 I actually know why the sound effect goes on like this. One of the jet enemies doesn't just fly away and despawn - it hangs around and attacks if you take too long climbing that particular section. Its attack is the same sort of gun as Big Foot/Hot Shot/Flying Dog's basic gunfire, though much more horizontal.
Also just would like to point out my stage developer had to play every single stage as every single character hundreds of times to make all 200+ variant layouts lol

Maybe the chao are both separate like, bounty hunters? That would also explain the fight (I haven't finished the video yet but I'm enjoying it so far ^^)
