Happy Friday everyone! Today I'm breaking down 2025 Topps Series 1 including top rookies, a value sheet, and print runs. Should you buy Series 1? And what's the best format? Enjoy!
Love the breakdown! Pre ordered 2 mega boxes with fancash I had on fanatics from Blackjack lol! I just recently got into collecting with the update series 2
Even though I do tend to agree with the “new junk wax era” sentiment, it still won’t ever be that bad again since you can still pull autos and 1/1s and all kinds of numbered cards. And I also think that even though they have totally changed everything about the parallel and coloring system, I think that they did a fantastic job at basically providing value and unique “hits” in every form of the product instead of just hobby and jumbo. Hangers for $12 are going to be so fun to rip!
Ill be able to do more football vids like this in a year when Topps gets the license. I will be covering Chrome football here next week. Glad you enjoyed.
Excellent video and break down. I pre order hobby and blaster. I thought about just buying a bunch of hangers instead. Print run numbers really creeping up there! Thanks for your time and effort on this
I predicted this a couple months ago, that we would see more production and more color variations and decided to stay away from ripping any boxes. I will buy a few singles for my PC players and just settle for a complete factory set, when those come out. I will consider Chrome, but I want to see the Flagship cards, before I even commit to that. Thanks for the information!
Great video!!!! One note to viewers, Green is better on the value sheet but still really low odds across the board I think as pointed out , for those on a tight budget you may want to wait and see what shakes out (how rookies do, how cards look in hand, etc)...there are tons of formats available and likely on shelves for years! ... Personally I bought a hobby and a jumbo for my PC and bought some megas and a display box for the kids to rip...didn't see display box on the sheet but by my glance it seems similar to megas with no exclusives and slightly better auto odds.......
Yea, just bc a format is good doesn't necessarily mean it's a buy. Series 1 is getting tougher and tougher every year. And your right the display boxes aren't bad. I decided to cover the major formats for brevity. Thanks for checking out the vid.
Thanks for the video! I've been fearing for the past 3 years that Flagship Topps was going the way of your conclusion. If Fanatics intends to make this the gateway card packs into the hobby, pricing should match the availability of the product. Topps Chrome is only going to get worse too with people willing to pay $50 for a blaster...er...mega box.
I do think that the number of parallels is getting a little silly, but I also understand it from Topps point of view as well. Collectors will decide which cards have value in the future, but people ripping packs want hits. Even if those hits aren't that valuable in the future. To be fair, most cards end up losing their value anyways. Not because there are too many parallels, but because 99% of players will be a bust. I do like a couple changes they have made though. I would rather have more low numbered parallels (Multiple /250 /99, /25, /10 vs. a couple high numbered parallels (/799, /999).
If things are similar to previous years, those silver packs can really bring some heat. Decent chance at a bonus auto! I think these prices are fine, I don't get why people are complaining. Products like Prizm football are overpriced in my opinion, not Topps baseball.
No it's not, and there always less expensive formats like hangers and blasters, sometimes you just have to be selective. What's too expensive is my groceries, rent and energy bills...
@@danjay7 Yes less expensive formats but they still dont give U the value a blaster only should be less then 15 dollars but its double and they didnt put in more value to pay more for it.
@fliplife67 And where did you get that number from? Sounds arbitrary and considering overall inflation, I'm not sure how people expect the price of cards to not go up as well. The fact that you honestly believe a blaster with 7-9 packs should cost $15 is hilarious! 🤣

Money...money...money. I don't blame a company for trying to make money, but this isn't a hobby anymore.
Awesome breakdown. It just seems retail is the way to go on flagship Topps every year.
Thanks man. Still the best format it looks like.
Good info
Amazing video and breakdown. Cant wait for when Topps gets the NFL license so we can get a similar video
Me and you both. I'll be doing a video on Topps Chrome football next week.
I like this design more than most but I think 2024 design is classic and in 50 years will be seen as the best
So what are the Fanatics Blaster exclusive parallels if the aqua is gone?
The Aquas are replaced by a Platinum Holofoil parallel. Falls 1 in 2 packs.
I do think that the number of parallels is getting a little silly, but I also understand it from Topps point of view as well.

What is diamanté foil?

Do you know when Topps releases the checklist prior to a drop? Not into baseball so dont follow topps but i am into nba,nfl and marvel.
Unlike Panini, they release the checklist prior to release. Generally, it's just before preorders opening.
Series 1 is gonna be Everywhere-er.
Holy crap, no image variations?! Plus the other stuff they've removed. How sad.
boom
This years product is overpriced only breakers should buy this.
Only breakers will.....all these prices are insane now. And so many new sets coming every week

Absolute garbage every box won't have a card worth over 50$
You need to know that topps is a money grab
No sh*t Sherlock
Still fun to collect tho
Awesome breakdown , thanks for all the info !!!
Great breakdown thanks for doing this!
