      That's exactly why he did it. He saw these two clean cut kids going to a house that he knows sells heroin, not cannabis. From the officers perspective, these kids are lying about what they were going to buy and he wanted to stop them from going down that path. So, he informed both the parents so maybe, they'll help hold them accountable and make sure they don't go down that road. It might be wrong, but I think he actually had good intentions with that. He's making sure people around them are aware of what they might be getting into. Better to stop it early.

      I am sick of armchair keyboard warriors who know absolutely NOTHING about how stings, stakeouts, and the law works. I'll dumb it down for you since I know you have to get your beyonce concert:
      They watch drug houses, they take note of who goes there, when, how often, and they continue to do so until they have a solid case for a search warrant to execute on that house/dealers. Sometimes houses will be under surveillance for years before a bust... why? Because the police have to be absolutely sure they have what they need for conviction, they have to know who and what will be in the house, will there be weapons, how many people, etc... If you want to show the police how it's done, step your ass up to the plate and get a CJS degree and join a department and put your life on the line taking out all these dead beats.... no? I didn't think so, go back to scarfing down your entire family sized bag of potato chips tubby

      @@kcook8119 Most of it starts inside the USA. Without demand there wouldn't be supply. If people are so messed up that they can't deal with life without drugs you do not need to look beyond the borders to fix the problem. Your implication that it's more worthwhile to go after buyers, over sellers, implies that by keeping drugs in circulation it's some how beneficial to the community at large. According to you this is because it's more of a waste of time to go after a single seller or group of sellers. Maybe think your arguments through a bit more before you give voice to them.
      While we're at it, who said anything about smoking rocks? Are you alluding to a favored pastime? Seems so with how little sense your point of view makes... and how you don't seem to understand the difference between living under a rock, and smoking a rock. But hey, do you.

    What is scary is that states that take the hard line on arresting for particles of crack in a pipe could easily go down the route of starting to test currency for drug contamination. And seeing how such a high percentage of currency in circulation is contaminated it could run out of control.

    • @StormyPeak
      @StormyPeak 2 года назад

      This is long....so carry on with that warning...lol
      Back around the mid to late 1980's, I watched an investigation show about drugs, and drug money/laundering..etc. Even back then, there were scientists and those who did studies on all aspects of drug use.
      Cocaine was the 'big drug' back then, and this scientist and his nation-wide team, for some 6 year or so, had been testing $20.00 and $100 dollar bills for cocaine traces. All of those thousands of bills they tested came back with cocaine traces on them. Some of the $20s and $100s...came back with huge hits for the drugs on them, and the scientists believe that was because those bills were actually rolled up and used to sniff coke. Other bills were probably stored next to massive amounts of cocaine or heroine while the drugs were being produced, or distributed by drug lords.
      Plus, even smaller bills, the fives and tens...had some faint traces, on them which the scientist thinks was mostly due to those bills being in contact with the bigger bills.
      Even back then, that man said that he seriously believed that almost every single piece of USA paper currency, if in circulation for at least 1 year, would show some light to heavy trace amounts of drugs on them.
      Yeah, this was back in the 1980's...and the drug problems have become worse, and testing has become more accurate, easier to do, and are more sensitive, as they can detect really low trace amounts of drugs that older tests couldn't do.
      Civil Forfeiture has stolen millions of dollars from innocent people, due to money they were carrying being tested and showing positive for drugs....even when the person pulled over for a license plate light not working, didn't have any drugs in the car, but had a lot of money in the car because they didn't trust banks, or they pulled the money because they wanted to go buy a car for cash, or in one case, a USA veteran pulled his life savings, and was traveling through a few states and was going to give some of that money to his kids as a surprise gift.
      The police took thousands and thousands from that man, found trace evidence on the bills...and left him stranded in a rental car in the middle of nowhere with just $10,00, That man was never arrested, they did not find drugs in his car, and they took his money because under that law, large amounts of money on someone MUST mean they are dealing in drugs somehow. At least the outcry from stealing from a USA military vet, got that man's money back...but most people don't get their money back, or if they do, it's only a percentage, because taking it to court would cost more than the two or three thousands that was seized.
      I support law enforcement...but not in this particular law. The law allows a citizens property to be taken without any court decision or real evidence that the money is drug money. It totally negates the 'Innocent until proven guilty' rule of our justice system.

    • @moultriemanicmechani
      @moultriemanicmechani 2 года назад +2

      The fact is a law testing currency would never hold up,for the same reason , currency is expected to test positive , testing a pipe used for one purpose ,and money are not the same thing .

    • @StormyPeak
      @StormyPeak 2 года назад +3

      @@moultriemanicmechani But officers Are testing money and then seizing it under the Forfeiture Act. This is being done without due process.
      In airports...if a large amount of cash if found...such as someone trying to sneak it into a country without paying dues on it...then the airport calls in law enforcement, who then seize it as drug money...and that money is kept by the law enforcement agencies.
      Again, people's personal property is being taken without due process...and in some cases swabs on the cash are being done to 'prove' the money has been in contact with drugs...even though most people already know that most of our money is contaminated with it.
      Still in these forfeiture cases the courts have made their own rules and one of them seems to be testing cash and finding a drug trace on them is the 2nd reason for taking it...the 1st reason is just being someone has a lot of cash on them.
      It's just a horrible legalized shake down and innocent people are losing their life savings due to it.

    Police don't have the authority to be lenient. If a crime has been committed, they are bound by duty to arrest the suspect. If you are stopped, the best thing to do is to not speak to the police. If they want to search you, tell them that you don't consent but do not resist if they search you anyway. If they arrest you, don't resist and tell them that you want a lawyer. Don't say anything else to them or anyone, only speak to a lawyer/public defender after you have been taken into custody.
    When you appear in court, be honest and polite with the judge, because that is the person who _can_ be lenient if you show remorse and demonstrate that you are willing to change your ways.
