DIY Mike, that was a excellent educational video on the properties of cfm and plasma cutters. I certainly have a better understanding on this topic sir. Thank you for your time i am grateful.
Depends on the project you're working on. The bestarc BTC500DP could be considered a hobbyist plasma cutter. But only in respect to what and how much you're wanting to cut. If you're trying to 1" thick metal.... then yea, the Bestarc is ONLY a hobbiest cutter. If you plan on cutting 5 hours a day or want to adapt it to a CRC table.... then yea, it's a hobbiest cutter. But I use it for work related items all the time. I've taken it to the junk yard and cut up a lot of car parts. As for the air compressor, that simply means HOW LONG can you cut. A large tank lets you cut for longer period of time before the compressor has to refil. A LARGE CFM compressor means it can fill the tank FASTER than a smaller CFM compressor. I use my Bestarc on a 20-30 gallon 5CFM compressor. I can usually cut for a little over a minute on thick metal and longer on thin metal. And that's usually fine for my needs. But yes, this plasma cutter will work with ANY air compressor that has a storage tank. Just a matter of how long you can cut.
Good Data Mike... Helps a lot... subscribed...

Best explanation ever. Thanks!

Thanks for this. Seems like a hobbyist can get away with a consumer grade compressor to pair with the consumer grade plasma cutter
