    Rainer Weiss is a Berliner. Father German Jewish and Mother Christian German. I was born on Berlin. A great scientist and a handyman,

    The best nomination for any scientific category should include
    Charles Babbage: Father of the Computer. Without Babbage We would not be able to accurately prove gravitational waves etc.

      Sadly, Engineering or computer science isn't a category for the Nobel Prize

    Can someone explain why gravitational waves can only come from non-spherical sources? See the slide at timestamp 4:50. Maybe it's too early for me to understand.

    Could a subterranean three-dimensional detector utilizing a single laser light source improve signal to noise ratio and reduce false positives for gravitational wave interactions?
