The Capitol Building was officially closed. So anyone who entered the building was officially 'interrupting a federal proceeding, which is a crime, punishable to up to twenty years. The proceeding that day was suspended. Although they reconvened after midnight, the proceeding was interrupted. Also 2 million dollars damage was done to the Capitol, and over 140 police officers were injured. And four people from the crowd died, I think. . In most legal jurisdictions, anyone in the crowd is responsible, for any crimes. Wasn't a woman in a wheel chair trampled to death, as one example?
