    * Patiently waits until Belinda becomes a Fuji user * XD. Good Video. I use zone focusing a lot myself, makes me feel like I immerse myself into compositions and not worry about missing a moment.

      where do you usually set your zone at? i usually just set it to infinity lol. Good luck with the wait, i was indeed looking into fuji cams for their film presets because I thought i wasn't getting into film but then, that was what exactly i did lol

      @@BelindaJiao Usually depends on what I'm doing and where I am. With my 28mm, I, usually pre-focus at 1m to 1.5m using sunny16 ( on a bright day of course), I tend to hover around f8 to 4 still focusing usually 1.5m. If I'm working a scene, and I want get extremely close I range anywhere from 0.5 to 1m.

      @BelindaJiao  3 года назад

      yea f4-8 is kinda delicate, the field isn't that wide tbh. I feel you, such a bummer that it almost only works on sunny days 😂

    for most, street photography, aperture f8 center focus ss 1/250 and auto iso will do the trick.for most number of lenses sweet spot would be around f8, i am a Sony shooter, most of my lens f8 gives the sharpest image, my focal length is 16mm prime.

    • @BelindaJiao
      @BelindaJiao  2 года назад +1

      Harish, yes f8 is widely agreed to be the sweet spot. And tbh, for zone focusing to work at all, f/8 is minimum (numberwise)

    Great stuff Belinda! I recently purchased the Nikkor 50mm prime and was so glad to see you explain it. I need to practice a lot on this one!

      @@BelindaJiao I bought it originally for astrophotography, but wanted to use it around our small town and a lot of pics came out blurry. Just have to keep at it😀👍🏻

    Hyperfocal distance works best with wide angle lens the wider the lens the larger the depth of field scale. Nikon’s manual focus lens are excellent for this method of focusing

    • @BelindaJiao
      @BelindaJiao  3 года назад

      Dieter, these scales look oddly old-fashioned, but they are truly a gem :)

      amazing, this makes these videos so worth making :) back focus is an interesting approach - is there a reason why?

      @@BelindaJiao I tend to use back focus button to refocus. When doing manual focusing. Examples like a lot of mirrorless camera. They have focus by wire lens drives bothers me lol. So I use it to refocus again.

    • @BelindaJiao
      @BelindaJiao  3 года назад

      is this something specific to mirrorless? sounds like something i'd wanna read up about lol :)
