    I do not encourage anyone to enter culverts, unclog anything, or enter flooded areas as it can easily become deadly without the proper training
    I unclog drains for fun in my spare time (I have been trained in culvert inspections for years with private co.) and I am osha trained.
    Exploring anything abandoned can be dangerous or deadly without experience. I don't encourage anyone to enter any abandoned structures. Not only is safety a concern, but often times its illegal, and when possible I seek out permission from the owner or local police. I simply go to document its history before it's gone forever and I leave things the way I find them. I only take pictures and only leave footprints. I assume all the risks and responsibility before doing this. Please don't attempt to do this on your own. There could be nails, asbestos, falling concrete, soft floors, animals, or other hazards. Thanks for watching.

    Love your frog pond. Not everybody appreciates frogs. lol The motion activated frog you converted into a fountain reminded me of a bachelor friend who lived on the water. He used the frog to 'guard' the door to the guest room when his little nephews visited. It would RIVET really loud if they tried to sneak out. Thanks.

    your best bet with the air stones is simply to run 5 seperate stones, bind them together in a bundle for the majority of the length then just have them split off at the end, like a palm tree... no tangle that way, and full throughput

    Yeah you should put more air stones on that air pump, having them all go into one put a large amount of pressure on the valves. Eventually they'll break a lot quicker, I found that out myself when I did it.

    What a great new solar pump. The airstone and hose questionn really comes down to flow rate and pressure, same as water pumps. Reducing down to one hose will give a higher back pressure to the pump I'd think, perhaps loading it up too much. Two tubes would probably be better.

    Hi Post, From my experience one hose to the air stone is best. I only had a pump with two ports or whatever it's called. In the beginning I could have two stones but within a year or two the pump became to weak. I had well water and it was on a fish tank. You have a much larger setup. I love what you're doing for the frogs. Also I'm kinda jealous of your set-up. Thank you for sharing this. ❤😊

    The bigger cage is also to increase the surface area. It'll reduce the the flow down enough to help stop small fish from being pulled in. Also as debris gets pulled in, it'll provide extra surface area to keep it going for longer without cleaning. I think you'll find the pump will perform well for quite some time. For the size of the pond, I think rotating the pond once per hour would be too much, once every 2 or 3 should be sufficient, you don't have a number of fish in there. Some more plants will help with regulating the pH and other waste products.

    If you want to prevent small tadpoles from getting caught by the inward flow of the pump, maybe you could place the pump in one of your spare squirrel traps and wrap the trap up with window screen. That would probably prevent small tadpoles from getting caught by the water pressure from the pump.

    The tadpoles aren't going to be able to get away from the pressure of that center part

  • @IO-zz2xy
    @IO-zz2xy 17 дней назад

    Don't use a restriction reducer. Instead install a T and and put a ball valve or some other tap on one side of T. You can then reduce / increase bypass water volume rather than reducing pressure on the pipe from pump and causing back pressure strain on the motor.
    Regards from South Africa

  • @davidgiza8022
    @davidgiza8022 17 дней назад

    If you put the pump inside a 5 gallon paint strainer,the tadpoles won't get sucked into the pump. It will slow down over time.
    They're available at Home Depot or Lowes.

  • @sparband
    @sparband 17 дней назад

    You could put the whole pump in a mesh paint straining bag and tie it closed, so they can’t go in there at all. Just a thought.

    I think that with the linked air hoses to the one big bubbler, you’re losing capacity because you’re choking the hose down smaller and, even though it’s got more force, it seems like there would be less air getting through overall. I could be wrong, but that is what it looks like to me.

    only half the air stone works cause the water pressure, most air stones are only designed for 12-18 inches of depth, below this you need a much finer stone to ensure the pump pressure is high enough to reach the end of the stone else the backpressure of the water will ingress

    you go to one here so what you need to do is every year you need to scrub your air stone with a scrub scrubby sponge There's Bonjour a bristles brush that gets you of any algae in other guns that's grown up and gotten stuck into the air stone and you should replace your airstones every two years anyway because they degrade they fall apart. So the best air stone you can get is a compact air stone that's not long that's not wide that's spherical shape works best like a small cylinder or small globe because you want more bubbles coming out of your airstone to give yourself the most amount of agitation and surface to air exchange water to air exchange on the surface The more smooth your water the less actual air exchange you get in your water can get stagnant and have anoxic areas which is not good for your fish or your plants but it's good for certain bacteria which you don't want because those bacteria make methane gas and that's already helping to heat up the planet faster than CO2 So you don't want to make methane if you can help it luckily unlike CO2 methane degrades after 12 years but it depends on how much could dumped into the atmosphere all at once Whereas carbon dioxide lasts for about 10,000 years before it degrades
