Melissa mentioned something in the episode about how judges don't favor tap, like they do lyrical or contemporary. I could be wrong, but that's my guess.
It is only 2 min, at a competition and recital you can only have a certain time limit. With all of the songs cut it still lasts a good 5-8 hours for recitals/competitions

this song is good, and the solo was great. but the apron thing was ridiculous. when asias pants were on backwards, or when chloes headband fell, she was upset, but she laughed when maddies apron fell

It was really two minutes. All their solos are at least two minutes because that's the minimum. Lifetime cuts every single one of them.
