    This is the only National I've been to. My mate backed What's Up Boys and was counting his money at the elbow, it looked a cert to win. But, as on many occasions, things can easily change on that run-in.
    There were some bad falls that day. The Last Fling at the Canal Turn broke his neck on landing, and it looked like another fatality at the 27th, not sure which horse.

    I was with Bindaree just this week. He’s 30 now.

    Had What's Up Boys and given his run style I was counting my money. Still think Johnson made a big error not bagging the rail after the elbow, ground was well chewed up down the middle.
