Visited there a few years ago, amazing place.....the beers are great and fabulous atmosphere. Heading back there in 2023....cannot wait!!!!!
Big fan of Rick Steves, he inspired me to get out and see the world! I am a bigger fan of this place......we stopped in "for lunch" and left when the last bier of the night was drawn! We met so many interesting folks, including a 80 year old man who flew in the Hitlers' Air Force....with many tales and stories about life in Germany. I befriended an executive from DeucheBank who paid for me to lead the band through Sinatras' New York, New York.....the next morning brought a headache not doubt, but the experience and the people will never be forgotten!
Just got back from Oktoberfest, went here the night before we went to the actual festival. Absolutely fantastic place: an absolute must-see if you happen to be around Munich, especially if you're a beer lover.
Hi from The HB brewery Team - we all are happy You enjoyed it At the hofbraeuhaus - see you There for another One or two ( maybe 3 or 4 )Beers 😃
Could you get me some tokens?
I spent quite a bit if time at the Hofbräuhaus in 1990, and I'm glad to see that it hasn't changed at all since then. I have many fond memories of striking up the most interesting conversations with the most interesting people you could have ever met - it was lije getting a global education in the course if an evening. They've done quite well for themselves since then as they've turned into a full-fledged worldwide chain-restaurant business with;a global presence of chain Hofbräuhäuser literally all over the world including my hometown here in the U.S. Not too long ago, I even bought a 1 liter Maß Bier Stein, which I like to pull out every now and then and fill up with ny favorite German beer - usually an Erdinger or Weihenstephan Hefeweizen or a good Pilsner from Stiegl, Warsteiner, or DAB - and kick back a few recalling the good ole days while revelling in great memories of the Gemütlichkeit.
i was there in 2001. great festival. beautiful people. love munchen.
I’m just here to pay respect to the fact that this is hd and 16:9 in 2009!!
Ikr
Myself and my wife are touring Europe (2024) and Munich is on the list! We will be there! I’ll have a beer 🍺 or two for those that can’t be there!
I visited this place as a student in a class trip in 2012. I had a nice time and the beer was good!
Yes, I had a great time at the Hofbräuhaus (around 2008 [near Oktoberfest time]).
Yes, it was loud and boisterous. Just as it is supposed to be.
love munich
Great times. I also loved the Ayinger beer bistro right in the center near the dragon on the corner.
I drank there in 1972 and 1973 but in 1979 I drank too much and woke up in the morning in the back of a street tram.
I love that that place
i went there we have one of those in pittsburgh at the south side its ok you can stand on your chair if you live in pittsburgh chek it out! but on satrdays its busy
I have been to the hofbrauhaus in Las Vegas and it looks like the one in Munich.
Like you guy from USA
I have nothing to add, just wanted to type the word, touristic.
Touristic.
It's great although it's now a place only for tourists (read Americans). The true Bavarian restaurants and beer gardens look very similar but are more peaceful than this.
never been:( want to go
AGUSTINA IS MY FAVORITED.
Cheers to light blue shirt and glasses at :58
0:07 - she’s spilling someone’s beer!
Can I get a lime and soda here?
Munich is NOT Germans beer capital! Maybe in numbers, but if you want more authentic and interesting beer go to Bamberg a couple of hours north from Munich
It's "Hof-broy-haus" not not "Hof-brow-haus"
its my dream to go there!!!
Well did you go? lol
Germany, Germany, Germany, is a really really nice place. Even though I'm a tourist they give me lots of food, and it doesn't suck like English food. Sausages with cheeses always taste soo good. It would be heaven for a dog. Yeah that's Germany. How is it those Germans are so robust? They're crushing me with their intimidation. Please don't come to my place in large mobs! German tourists are scary!
Aber, jetzt ist nicht mehr so wie for 20 Yahren. ....
Seems like a great place to start a revolution

Dunkel Bier! Sehr gut!
That's a hefeweizen glass shown when saying it's a radler. Though hefe can be mixed with sprite/lemonade for a radler, typically it's a pils. I don't think they'd serve a radler in the glass though - Germans are particular about which glass is used for each kind of beer.
Rick, we love your shows and travel expertise, but please work on your pronunciations! It's Hohf with a long 'o', broi as in broil, and house as in house. Danke!
Amazing place, could stay there all day !!!
@Prime133suppe dortmund und bier,haha...
das ist als wenn man in berlin weißwürste anpreist.
das passt absolut nicht zusammen........
When I went to the Hofbräuhaus, my party was separated and I had to sit at a table with other germans. It was so fun, and a lot less touristic.
worst place i`ve ever been!! extremely poor service, with rude waiters!! They do anything, but work!! A bunch of drunks during work time!
I went the 3 years ago, and it is such an amazing place, wanna go back! :)
This is my paradise
