- We’ve received a few requests for a video on transformer calculations and this video is a result of that.
Transformers are easy to understand and to perform calculations on, if a few basic rules are understood.
As with most calculations, understanding what information you already have and knowing what it is that you need to work out, is always going to be important.
So in this video we will look at the two basic formulas for transformer calculations and then work through some example questions, the sort of things you might be asked in technical exams for electrical services and electronics.
We begin with the two formulas that you absolutely must know and show you how to manipulate to your advantage. If you know these formulas, you are well on your way to getting the right answers.
This is video number 223 and to view all our videos type in LearnElectrics all one word into the RUclips search bar.

Thanks a lot guys for all the work you are doing for us, you're a god send for guys like me who have tutors that care more about telling bad jokes than they do teaching you actual electrics👌
