I think the contrast in the music might come from the fact that it was actually a super old track that Chan had made. If I remember correctly, he said he had made it to experiment some sounds/genres but I could be wrong. Then he "unearthed" the track again and remastered the lyrics and it was released because they found it fun. Having Seungmin, Felix, Changbin and Chan is an interesting combo! But I'm convinced that any sort of unit from SKZ is just gonna work. I don't know. Its their magic haha. Thanks for the video! And as for the MV, I don't think it has any particular context. It isn't part of another one of their content. They're just vampires (because up all night, "when the world is asleep they open their eyes") who baked a cake at an old people's house with the old man as a main ingredient it appears...

"Up all night" is one of my all time favourite skz songs. It's such a bop, no matter how bad of a mood you are in you can't help but smile and start to dance when you hear it 🥰 I also love the mv, it's so funny. You watch this like, aw so cute they have fun and bake a nice cake but in the end you see the missing grandpa and realise that those cake decorations were body parts lol 👀😂

Since Felix and Bangchan are Australiens i have no doubt that the video is heavily inspired by the Australian vampire move and series “what we do in the shadows”. At least for the music video - maybe also the production of the song. It is presented as a “vampire reality show”. The dissonance between all elements are just as present in the movie 😂.
The video relates to a funny quirky vampire mockumentary movie from New Zealand , 'What we do in the shadows' Chan would probably of been influenced by it.,

The premise was they were having a sleepover and hijinks took over. As for the song, the story I heard was it was the first song Bang Chan made in a production class while a trainee.
Don't know if someone already pointed it out but surely you've heard it in one of the "Skz Family" episodes they made Felix singing it when he was the grandfather(if i'm not wrong is the second episode they done)

And it was a good way to not JUST keep HIM out of songs and content, it is less obvious now when you lisen to the songs later.

i think this feels heavier coz it actually has deeper meaning. that’s one thing we love bout SKZ, yes they sound fun but their songs never has no messages attached. like, through this, chan tells us that skz working hard everyday every night making musics and prepare all of things related to it and their performances for Stays n other audiences.
