just now appreciating how deep the image is in this artwork. the figure is clearly a warrior of some sort, fighting amidst shadows and chaos, however when he looks out the light is mixed with the chaos. pursuing the light seems to be mingled with the chaos which circles overhead, and looking straight ahead seems to appear to be looking up. which forces the question: which way is truly up? and which direction have i come from?
the conclusion i draw is that the current chaos has been so distorted that up no longer seems up anymore. and what we thought we have been fighting for was a distortion from the true light. now is the cause because i am simply sleepwalking? or because we have been deliberately misled?
in all reality, this interpretation probably reflects my own recent growths and transformations more than anything. perhaps some of you relate. thanks for reading.
