This, my friend, is the best explanation to Why one shoots LF ... Wordless ! One can feel the calm and the surroundings just looking at this very relaxing video Great job Nejc :)
Great scanning process! I'll try digitizing some of my collected autochromes :) On that subject, I recently had the extreme luck to get some unopened autochromes. I would love to try shooting with them, but really I don't know where to start. So much information has been lost. Oh well. Maybe I'll get to it someday. Everything I read online is very confusing...
@@lostlightart6064 That would be awesome! I'm very nervous about mine. It took me years of searching to find some. But I think some people have had success with Alticolor film (I think it's just medium format autochrome) so I have some hope. However they are 9x12cm and my camera is 4x5 or 10x13cm. But I think it should be easy to convert a 4x5 holder to a 9x12. I am not sure if the emulsion is still good after 100 years, if it isn't I might try removing it and coating it with a new emulsion. I have never made panchromatic emulsion before, but it would be a learning experience at least.
I love grist mills! I’ve shot over 45. Mostly in NC. Still quite a few on my bucket list. I wanna reshoot them all, ones still standing, on my Intrepid 4X5.
Yes there is something special about them. A proper resemblance of beautifuo handcraft and in this manner they kinda connect with shooting dry plates 😊
That is a nice bag that you have for your intrepid. What vendor provides it. Some nice shots. I love the B-roll at the beginning where the beetle is devouring the leaf. Amazing how fast they can process plants.
Actualy this is a hard case I got with gopro accesories on Amazon. I will have to find now one tho a bit thicker as the zippers have ripped. But otherwise it is a great solution!
I am a lover of 5 x 4 , it’s quality and the movements but wonder why an iPhone and not scan or enlarge when that LF quality really shows ? Appreciate the quick results though for a small or. ‘proof’ print .
Does it make any sense to go through the beautiful dry plate process just to scan the results with your smartphone ? You will miss the whole thing; Make at least an analog contact print. Why do I have to watch you for minutes cleaning and rubbing the glas. Watching this video is just a loss of precious time.
wonderful video. beautiful forest no uneccessary talking and no annoying music. Love the sounds of nature…
Thanks 🤗

Great job Nejc :)
Thank you Francois 🤗
I gave you a thumbs up just for the mill. What a great place to get a photo.
This is amazing. I mean that image is just phenomenal.
Zebra Dry Plates and your holder are my next LF purchase.
Cool 🤗
Beautiful video and photographs
Fantastic !!! Photographies and video editing :-)
Thanks Arnaud!
A couple of nice shots there...
I never need to tighten the screws for my intrepid lens board - strange you need to!
Thanks. I rather screw things down specially when carrying the camera on my shoulders. You never know 😁
Great work Nejc!
Thank you 🤗
I am an occasional user of 5x4 and found that really interesting. Never seen the dry plates before. Good photos.
You picked a beautiful area to photograph. Great video!
Thanks 🤗
Bravo Nejc, possibly your best video yet (imho) I really need to order some dry plates, the detail looks amazing. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you. I liked filming and editing this one as well 😊 And yes Zebra plates are definitely worth a try!

You can get 9x12 plate cameras for not much I got one because it was the cheapest large format camera I could find
WOW Speechless!!
Thanks Edwin 😊

So I'm new here to the channel, after you take the image with your phone what happens next to the plate?
Plate is archived until I properly scan, direct contact print item...
Cool scanning process and very nice shots! What app is that?
I just invert the coulours in settings as it is easier to get the right exposure
@@lostlightart6064 ah ok, I can't do that on my camera app
Great video, what tripod?
Thanks Vanguard Alta Pro 263
Well done 👍
Thanks!
22:40 Are those anti-newtonian glasses?
why would you shoot 4x5 then scan with an iPhone. use better optical scanner.
You go to all the trouble to shoot LF and digitize with a phone? Wtf!
I do it for the sake of the video and because I dont have money to but the epson 850 😕 Otherwise I enjoy contact printing very much 😉
Cant watch silent movies sorry.
