If they were even available back then. I managed to do it, though, but cannot remember if I died or not ;D Always great to "meet" other women who play. I am a mom too and started RS back in late 2004 / early 2005 while bored at work :)

On OSRS I used Iban Blast was hitting constant 20's, killed him in 9 spells. Also, I wore Mystic whilst praying range..didnt get hit, very easy boss fight (I'm Lvl. 75). I would highly recommend you did that, thank you for the guide as well.
Tip, Attack with mage. Pray ranged. Start the boss in the middle of the room, melee spawns lock him behind water pool. Magic spawns kill him then switch back on boss. Nothing can hit you after magic is dead.
Good tips are if you're using Melee to kill pro from melee, and kill the minions as soon as they spawn in (they only have 20 hp) they usually get 1 hit, after the minions are dealt with keep hitting the giant scarab :)
It really is a dangerous place. Damn. I'm level 134, thought it would be piece of cake to go through the dungeons. How wrong i was.... Even with correct prayers, the scarabs were almost able to kill me in couple of seconds. I'm glad i survived without deaths through the whole quest.

amber thanks i was scared that when i got to the boss id have no food, you shortcut helped me, i died 3 times using melee, lost over 150k of melee armour all together, then i rewatched your guide, i though hm if she using range maybe i should i used range and kill him didnt die. thanks again, tor8899 (P.S. your guides rock)
i recomend using prayer book boots of lightnees, spoted or spotier cape, explorers ring(up to the part when u can run restor) and seers headband(1,2,3,4 works). I saved 6 spaces of invtr liek that

I did this quest on a 1 def 1 pray pure. Easy stuff. Karils crossbow is ure best friend. Its fast and high hitting. Stay hidden near entrance, til the beatles near, then attack, it will summon, but none will be able to hit you, as its fat ash blocks.
Easiest bossfight ever. If you use melee, turn auto retal off!!!! What you do is attack and run on square back, attack one square back while praying range. I used 0 monkfish and two doses of prayer pots. I used dhide and prosy helm. Literally... no food used. Also easier way to kill him is to use mage. Weak to Iban blast or earth spells. :3

i used a safe spot just behind the body, pray range and any locust that spawn use range so ur protected and the mages cant get u either...
why there isn't any prayers like "protect from traps"? :D

iban blast is really effective, killed it easily, just need to safe spot and bring good food for the journey and a bit for the battle.
