My home invasion protection consists of 1. 10 foot high walls around the property. ( and certain anti vehicle devices installed) 2. strategically placed "harmful plants" ( spikes that grow upto 15-20 inches long on certain trees and schrubs) and some that actually if it comes into contact with any clothing will penetrate and cause burns on the skin. if you dont treat it, it can go as high as 3rd degree burns. Its prohibited plant but also protected, meaning you cant chop it down. 3. There are certain paths that lead you into the open, where you are confronted by 22 Belgian shepherds ( 12 malinois, 10 Groenendaeler dogs) and one Alabai ( Central asian sheepdog that can grow upto 200-250 pounds) who was a rescue puppy and is still young. All dogs (the puppy is getting trained as we speak) to hold in place any tresspasser.. which usually consists of removing their pants and whizzing /taking a dump on said trespasser. I had some in the past.... of course if they are screaming, Diana gets excited. When she gets excited she gets the runs ( Diana is a Malinois) and usually tends to sit on the thing that makes the noise ( usually the head of the tresspasser)and let the runs.. run free. 4. if they somehow get through that they come to a specially fortified to withstand a "baddies from WWII" invasion and bombing... which has been upgraded to 21st century standards. a high tech battering ram would take hours to break the door open... then the fun starts... led will be so thick that sure eventually they may have the property but the casualties will be so high it will taste as a defeat. 5. Also even if i am present at the property i would have vanished.. if you know you know.
Love this but I have a suggestion. A fire extinguisher. You're statistically more likely to experience a home fire then you are a home invasion. It would be a good add to your bedside kit for preparedness. Just my opinion
and/or a Fire Blanket - several stored in the home as the first line of fire defense as trying to clean up after an extinguisher is rough... so go for the blanket then the extinguisher if needed.
like a standard fire extinguisher, a pressurized water extinguisher would be a good addition. it has enough water to buy you time if you were to be trapped and can also put the fire out in its early stage of development.
And the number one most important thing in your kit: Routine! When i go to sleep i always fold my clothes in a specific way and always put them in the same way. I can put them on in a couple of seconds even in total darkness. When i sit up in the bed i can place my hand on my clothes. This is especially important if you`re in a hotel for example. If there`s a fire you have your clothes on in a couple of seconds. Very important seconds!
Although I'm very used to getting up in the middle of the night and having to redress quickly as a retired firefighter, I go to bed in clothes I can just get up & go in. All I need is a jacket in cool weather.
I do this every day for work and weekends as well. Everything is folded and stacked in the order I put it on. It's such a habit that before my wife and I get settled in to relax, I have to do it.
My EDC bag is set up very similar - it's a full size messenger bag ($40) and can hold paperwork, etc. (Yes - I carry 'off-body'). Problem with 'slinging' a bag on while a potential close encounter is possible (likely?) - if the sling or bag is grabbed by intruder it could be used to temporarily control you and maybe disarm you. If you need to 'investigate' a bump in the night - slip your pants on (pockets), grab your handgun, stick that extra mag and your cell phone in those pants pockets and check it out (make sure your efforts are legal*). I prefer a shotgun but same idea. *Some states require you call 911 and stay put (bedroom) even in your own home. That may be best for most folks anyway.
Great idea for closet! I think I now have a kit-bag in every room of the house now based on all the preppin’ videos I watch from creators. Expensive, but I’m so frosty.
Revolver and tactical flashlight where i can grab them without moving. AR in the closet. No bag needed. I do like the idea of hearing protection where I can grab that easy as well.
The go-bag with pistol in it is a great idea… it’s quickly available if needed but not carrying it in hand or mounting it on a belt when 90% of the time will not be needed.
thanks for pointing it out, i knew someone in the comments would note it for a looksy spendy fo sho - what's he got on his neighbor for such extravagant gifts...hmmmm
Clint Smith has a great video on this concept. I think he also suggests having a spare cell phone powered off in there as well as a spare house key. Nothing worse than getting in a position of being locked out of your own home.
No offense, but if you are shot, you will likely bleed out before you can get your bleed kit open. Sealed plastic with blood covered hands is a no-go. Open the kit up, pre-stage the TK's so they are ready to self deploy and use, and get all the other stuff set for use as well. Same with the ear pro...if someone is in the house, the last thing I want to do is try to unzip a case within a case to get my ear pro on. Personally, I'd have the hearing protection, extra flashlight and thermal imager out of cases and on top of my clothes so they are the first things to go on. Enhance hearing, enhance light, get dressed, grab the bag and go.
I made a similar bag a few years ago, just maybe 1/4 the price. Condor sling bag, Glock combat knife, Glock 17 with all it's mags, blowout kit, couple flashlights, flex cuffs. I bring the whole bag when I go shooting and have my teens practice with it.
I run a belt with safari land holster and 3 spare mags. With the loaded G17 and x300 ready to go. This way I can go hands free with ease and not have to worry as much about being disarmed if I’m required to go hands on. The belt is set up to be worn without any belt loops etc. Just buckle up and go. As I type this though I need to add a TQ to the belt.
Hey Cody, why don’t you do a history of Wranglerstar? Like from childhood to now? You could make it a series with old photos etc. Would be pretty interesting. Love your work, mate. From the island off the coast of New Zealand.
I have a similar setup but my system is all mounted on a Battle Belt. Weapon, Mags, knife, IFAK, light, Dump Pouch... all accessible with one click at the waist. I do like the trauma plate you keep in your bag. That's clever. I have a level 4 setup from SafeLife but that takes a few extra seconds to put on.
Thats a great video and great gear for sure ! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸💯 that thermal camera is a great idea by the bedside! Expensive gear but great choices ! Well worth it 🇺🇸💯💪🏼
I just use a plate carrier. I leave one side open to toss over my head, I dont need to close it if time is short. I've got ammo, a handheld and headlamp lights, knife, pepper spray, an OC grenades, a large trauma kit, an admin pouch, radio and a small foldable dump pouch. Its most been used for tornadoes. I can toss that on an listen to NOAA updates while I get the family to the safe room, then go around securing phones, keys, etc in the dump pouch. I dont really need the armor here, but its just handy for more than a home invasion. The PC can be tossed over my EDC or just ran umm... more streamlined....
I carry a Vertx Commuter that I have set up to grab and go. A Flux Raider, med kit, a couple of flex cuffs, and a single point sling all fit in the rear compartment I don't get into 20 times a day.
Very cool bag brother! Mine is a Maxpedition "Fatboy" which has a separate CC compartment and a holster w/spare mag loop. Rather than a home invasion bag though, I use mine as a "get home bag". It carries everything I would (sans clothing) need for 48hrs and I carry it in my truck with me.
Love your vids! I respect your knowledge and insights but I'll not take time to unzip hearing protection from its bag during a home invasion. I consider hearing an asset - to know where the invader was and which direction his footsteps were headed. Wouldn't want to obstruct hearing. Thanks for sharing. Glad to have you back with us! I need a tour of that closet!! Look at all those plaid shirts hangin' so pretty!
Nice setup, just a recommendation, I always carry my flashlights bezel down. With an adrenal dump and fine motor skills lacking you may accidentally activate the light when trying to grab it and blind yourself.
Your overthinking it man. But you are right that your pistol controls should be subtle. One mag is better than none. Have a gun have a light, practice with both. Options dont always add affect.
I have something similar for everyday use, but I don’t think of it as a home invasion kit. A home invasion requires responsive action and limited baggage; lighted firearm, footwear, and backup magazine to clear the home. If you leave the home (property invasion?) then a bag with things makes sense. 🙏
I appreciate your preparedness. I for one do not want a bag to dig through to get to a firearm and flashlight in the dark. I won't reveal information about my living situation or other details on social media.
Some time ago you posted a very interesting segment which featured a very sophisticated feller-buncher which could thin forests effectively. I believe it was of European design. Please send that segment to Joe Rogan and perhaps simply offer to appear with him as someone who understands the problems of the woods. A long trip you took on the bikes reveal thousands and thousands of acres of beetle kill. Thousands and thousands of acres of potential fire. Thinning is a wonderful idea and a wonderful resource. He is a wonderful fella and I think he would like you very much.
Ive got a pistol in a rfid case and 300BO ar15 within reach of my bed. I can deploy them in about 2 seconds from sleeping. My neighborhood is so safe theyll probably never see any action.
A home invasion is a very specific thing. It is not a bump in the night you covertly respond too. It is fast and violent. For some people you only have seconds before the bad guys are upon you depending on the size of your dwelling. I think you hear them bust in and you have to respond instantly with violence of action with very little time to put clothes or hearing protection on. This is well intentioned but I disagree with the concept for a home invasion.
mr.w you made a comment towards the islamic faith that seemed very negative, this was 5 months ago or so on the video of you showing the awful state of our national parks in the USA (which is shameful) however i don’t understand where your remark of “shria law” and “dust off your prayer rug” came into play.. i really like the content you post and every single time (besides the comment) i’ve looked forward to every video. this is weird to me due to the fact that im a muslim and you are one of my favorite youtubers. if i misunderstood you’re comment im deeply sorry and hope everything goes swell.
I’m going out of town for a couple weeks so I we may be able to offer it immediately. But, that gyro offer is still on the table. Orthodox monastery, basically in your neighborhood.
I've been researching thermals and night vision, so I'll have to take a look at the monocular. I have one suggestion for your kit though: unless you have some more stored in another location, I'd add a box of ammo. I'd hate to hit the road with just two mags.
Hey Cody, thanks for putting this up man. I had a question for you a while back and to be honest I completely forgot about it and I think you even reached out to me. Which i appreciate on your part ,btw. I was wondering if this was the same way that you connected your holster to your FUPA? Also, thanks for all the great content and entertainment over the years bro.
I’ve watched some of your videos. I understand that I may not agree politically with some of the viewers of this channel as I’m more liberal in my views. Should I consider purchasing a gun for home defense. I’m a homeowner. I don’t know what I should consider for home defense if needed. Thanks for answering my questions about this. While I’m not opposed to owning a gun. It would be nice to have ideas on what might be good alternatives and if I decide to purchase a gun my first priority is self defense at home and not in public. Thanks.
Interesting vid on the lot , Question? What’s the back story on that carpet looks like worn Ragged. Is it a family thing ? Much respect just not like you to have old worn items. Thanks
There are a number of videos here on RUclips about how to teach your kids about gun safety. I started my kids out early. Cricket .22s, then moved up to Ruger 22s. As for keeping guns out of their reach, there are small gun safes available for pistols or rifles. I have a small safe made by GunVault. I really like it. They make single or double gun pistol safes. It’s bolted down to a shelf a couple of steps away from the bed. Uses a pressure pad with a combination that you set yourself. My wife and I can both open it in the dark due to large finger pads and we practice it a lot. Loaded gun with light attached, two extra mags and flash light. I want to get another one. I also keep my pants right next to my bed. An extra light on the night table. Learned from this video that I will move slip on shoes next to my pants and a fire extinguisher. Going to put my ear protection close by too.
For the safety of family and friends in the home I prefer a pump action shot gun and birdshot. It's unlikely to pass through walls or glass and will absolutely perform the function. But just like any other such tool you of course need to practice moving through the home with it not loaded amd safery on so you can figure out how to move about everything inside the home.
What is your most honest opinion on the best edc knife? I know you used to carry the benchmade Osborne I'm currently looking at those but wondering if you have a different opinion now since that was a few years ago.
I would also consider adding a pair or two of zip-cuffs to your on-body bag in the event lethal force is not required and you need to “take someone’s hands away” before LE shows up.
I wouldn't keep my IFAK or trauma kit right in front of my plate.. imagine this: during a gunfight (that you win, obviously) you get shot in the arm and your plate saved your life by stopping a round to your heart/lung.. now your TQ doesn't work because the buckle or windlass ate that bullet, your chest seals don't work on your wife who also got shot because they have bullet holes in them, etc. I find a fanny pack makes the perfect IFAK (or even a little bigger med kit, you can easily throw it on with or without a plate or belt or backpack, you can easily hand it over to someone or take it off to work on someone, plus you can fit two IFAKs worth of stuff + extras like burn gel/burn patches, lidocaine patches, Mylar blanket, hot/cold packs, bandaids, antibiotic ointment, extra gauze/etc. in addition to the standard chest seals/combat gauze/ETD or Israeli bandage/shears/TQ/NPA/decompression needle (get training please)/nitrile gloves
Have a similar bag setup Don’t really see the advantage of having the armor in such a small package That optic makes a big difference particularly if you have property Also, with todays home invasions there are usually more than 1 person involved I wouldn’t recommend you trying to clear your house room to room Designated a safe room stay there and guard it From within If you have kids and your on the same floor either train them to stay in their rooms on the floor so if bullets do fly and go through walls they are low and won’t be hit Otherwise, get them to the safe room Always easier and safer to guard a group coming through a single door than going hunting for them While your guarding that door, preferably with a rifle The Ms is calling the police Besides, no one is gonna question you in a court of law when they pull the bodies out of your say bedroom rather than face down off your front door or property But you do you I wish you peace ✌️ 🇺🇸
I have a ground throw in my survival bag that's got a mylar blanket sewn in between for thermal scopes. It could easily be turned into a cloak which i might.
Nice vid. Will look into the bag/armor. Just a thought would it be better to attach a trauma kit to the side of the bag instead of the Hypothetically a projectile going through the front pouch and the kit being compromised.. Just a thought
How exactly does one use that shield and a firearm? It seems like you have to choose one or the other and transitioning between them would be slow and cumbersome.
I keep my GE M184 mini gun with a fixed bayonet on my nightstand locked and load with 6000 rounds of tracer rounds with a fully charged battery to make it spin at full speed! I sleep with ear muffs so noise isn't a problem. The mini guns trigger has a blue tooth connection to my cell phone and will automatically call in fire support and the fire department to douse the fire in my house and my neighbor's houses! 🤣
Wow, I’m under powered compared to you - 12 ga. on the headboard and pistol under the pillow, perimeter covered with those shotgun blank alarms, and doberman sleeping on the foot of the bed. Still working on my autonomous drone to fly over watch at night. Got the wife and kids pulling 4 hour guard duty shifts.😂
I don't know...if I'm possibly dealing with a home invader, I won't be worried about donning any hearing protection...that would be the last thing on my mind. Can you provide a link for the holster?

1. 10 foot high walls around the property. ( and certain anti vehicle devices installed)
2. strategically placed "harmful plants" ( spikes that grow upto 15-20 inches long on certain trees and schrubs) and some that actually if it comes into contact with any clothing will penetrate and cause burns on the skin. if you dont treat it, it can go as high as 3rd degree burns. mr.w you made a comment towards the islamic faith that seemed very negative, this was 5 months ago or so on the video of you showing the awful state of our national parks in the USA (which is shameful) however i don’t understand where your remark of “shria law” and “dust off your prayer rug” came into play..
i really like the content you post and every single time (besides the comment) i’ve looked forward to every video.
this is weird to me due to the fact that im a muslim and you are one of my favorite youtubers. if i misunderstood you’re comment im deeply sorry and hope everything goes swell.
It’s not uncommon for Cody to tear down and disrespect anybody or anything that he’s not.
For example, this channel is not for women.
Good equipment to have but I think having everything stored in bags inside of bags will take extra time to access.
Level 2 please 🙏
The worst thing about wranglerstar videos is that they end. Realy nice video cody god blless you
Great set up! Is that a SOE ear pro case?
Could you add a link or give brand and model of thermal scope? Thanks
Thanks.
cool video :)
You forgot the tactical iPad mount and Vitamix in the dump pouch.
Make an extended red paracord pull for the first aid pocket. When you need it, you want it fast access.
Interesting vid on the lot , Question? What’s the back story on that carpet looks like worn Ragged. Is it a family thing ? Much respect just not like you to have old worn items. Thanks
I would like your view on how handle bedside guns with small kids in the house . Not a critizism, I want to know.
Teach them from an early age, like a responsible adult.
If you've taught your kids about guns but are still worried you could put a small shelf well out of their reach and keep the pistol there.
What’s in the second bag?
For the safety of family and friends in the home I prefer a pump action shot gun and birdshot. It's unlikely to pass through walls or glass and will absolutely perform the function. But just like any other such tool you of course need to practice moving through the home with it not loaded amd safery on so you can figure out how to move about everything inside the home.
What is your most honest opinion on the best edc knife? I know you used to carry the benchmade Osborne I'm currently looking at those but wondering if you have a different opinion now since that was a few years ago.
We are blessed. ❤
Thanks nice video god bless
East Coast man just keeps a shotgun under the bed so he doesn't need a separate rig to fight his way to the long gun.
Who makes that thermal monocular?
Do you recommend any implements to make entry or maybe a dump pouch to scoop up any exposed valuables during the home invasion?
What about the shoes in the nightstand?
I would also consider adding a pair or two of zip-cuffs to your on-body bag in the event lethal force is not required and you need to “take someone’s hands away” before LE shows up.
The one item that caught my attention and waiting to hear was the nightstand tablet sitting there.
What kind of shoes/boots were those in your nightstand?
Have a similar bag setup
Don’t really see the advantage of having the armor in such a small package
That optic makes a big difference particularly if you have property
Also, with todays home invasions there are usually more than 1 person involved
I wouldn’t recommend you trying to clear your house room to room
Designated a safe room stay there and guard it
From within
If you have kids and your on the same floor either train them to stay in their rooms on the floor so if bullets do fly and go through walls they are low and won’t be hit
Otherwise, get them to the safe room
Always easier and safer to guard a group coming through a single door than going hunting for them
While your guarding that door, preferably with a rifle
The Ms is calling the police
Besides, no one is gonna question you in a court of law when they pull the bodies out of your say bedroom rather than face down off your front door or property
But you do you
I wish you peace ✌️ 🇺🇸
Sorry, Cody. I'm not digging around in a purse during a home invasion. 😂
You’re not prepared enough.
Hey Cody, what is your opinion on keeping around in the chamber on a handgun. should you or should you not on open or concealed carry?
Always!
@@stevenmark8156 thanks.
Why you shoot the coyote?
Poor Wiley Coyote 😂
How to keep the Sweet Loaf from investigating it?
I don't know...if I'm possibly dealing with a home invader, I won't be worried about donning any hearing protection...that would be the last thing on my mind. Can you provide a link for the holster?
