I was very blessed, I went to Greece right before covid got stuck but decided to stay with all that was going on with covd during that time.

Fun fact: the letters you see on the marble stones on the Acropolis ? Pick any 7 year old who has just learned the contemporary Greek Alphabet and ask them to read the letters. No problem at all!

You should have visited the Acropolis museum.. Right oposite the Acropolis itself. I get it that many do not have enough time or interest in visiting museums, but the Acropolis one is a must. I would argue that even the Archeological one should be a visited also... It seems you had fun and you are always welcomed back. You seem really sweet :)
There was sooooo much that we didn’t get to see and we love museums. We just had a short day because we had to board the ship. Definitely going to see more on a next visit

I was there in November with 17 friends and family I I wore Cole haan shoes and I regret it ,I should have worn Hoka or O Cloud shoes.

you can visit the acropolis museum across where there is all the statues and artifacts that used to be in acropolis easy access

Thank you for your kind words! The Stadion you saw is the Olympic stadion of the new Olympic Games which started 1896. The original stadion of the old olympic has been build around 400 BC and its in the area of Olympia in Peloponnese around 2 hours from Athens.

300 drachmas entrance for children and 400 dr for her ticket.

Εαν θαυμασατε τον ναο της Αθηνας, κανετε μια προσπαθεια λεγοντας οπως μπορειτε, στους Αγγλους που κατα την διαρκεια της κατακτησης της Ελλαδας απο τους Τουρκους, οι Εγγλεζοι ζητησαν απο τους Τουρκους να παρουν μερη των αρχαιων κτισματων. Οι Τουρκοι συμφωνησαν και οι Αγγλοι ΕΚΛΕΨΑΝ μια απο τις ΚΑΡΙΑΤΙΔΕΣ ( Αυτη που υπαρχει, ειναι ομοιωμα της ΚΑΡΙΑΤΙΔΑΣ που βρισκεται στο Αρχαιολογικο Μουσειο στο Λονδινο ). Επεισης, ηθελαν να παρουν ΟΛΗ ΤΗΝ ΖΩΦΟΡΟ ΤΟΥ ΠΑΡΘΕΝΩΝΑ κι επειδη ΔΕΝ ΜΠΟΡΟΥΣΑΝ, τον κομματιασαν και πηραν οσα μπορεσαν !!!!! Κι αυτα βρισκονται στο μουσειο του Λονδινου. Womderful video and just to add a spicy comment for the alien ending for Acropolis and Parthenon...Did you know?... The columns of Parthenon are made of pieces that are stuck one on top of the other...ok makes sense ... BUT the big thing here is that the the way the pieces have been cut create a surface that is so precisely flat that only lasers can accomplish 😉😉 Now, another fact is that the stairs of Parthenon have been designed and structured in such a way so to not be 100% geometrically correct, meaning that they are not straight flat but curve in the middle. The reeasin behind this design "imperfection" was to create the illusion to the eyes that are flat following the sttacture shape of the Parthenon, while if they where indeed structured flat, they would look curved to the eye😉😉 More great details? Yes there are plenty!!! And please look for the Temple of Apollo Epicurius, the Partenon of Peloponnese, by architect Iktinos, the man who designed Partenon and which temple rotates 1 degree so to always stay aligned to North Star. Magnificent monument!!!! And possibly fully renovated by now.❤❤

We didn’t go to the port from the airport. We flew in early so we got there from our hotel. But from the cruise port to the airport was a fun filled day taco on their version of an interstate highway with a very high speed limit 🫣😱😂

I just want to correct a historical misunderstanding about St. Paul who taught Christianity in Athens. Ancient Athenians literally hated him and never ever took him seriously. His plans of converting them to Christians never succeeded. He was a ridiculed and hated man in the city.
St.Paul sought shelter in Athens because he developed conflicts with the Jews of Thessalonika and was told that they were plotting against him. Contrary to popular belief the first Christians in Greece were Hellenized Jews rather than ethnic Greeks and St.Paul's mission was to pursue practicing Jews to Christianity and not pagan Greeks.
St.Paul was only suppose to preach to the Jews in front of the Synagogue in Athens but for the first time he felt he needed to preach to the Greek pagans as he witness them praying to the false Gods made of silver and gold. He then for the first time started preaching to the pagan Greeks in the Agora. Although initially he was ignored, he eventually gathered small crowds of people to listen and discuss his sermon, this became a problem since it was illegal to preach about foreign deity(s) in Athens.
On one of the days he was preaching, he was detained and brough to Areopagus, the high court in Athens, to explain himself. After the sermon he was released and a number of people became followers of Paul, the most important being Dionysius the Areopagite a court judge of Areopagus who was the one he was discussing the Christianity with . St. Paul made huge impact in Athens concerning the Christian faith, with many followers reciting his sermon after he left, a huge wave of Greek conversations to Christianity happened soon after, unfortunately St. Paul was clueless about the impact he made in Athens, historically it seems he views his time in Athens as a failure which was actually not true.
madam, don't you know if a woman is a bit round, she shouldn't wear clothes that have horizontal stripes, but the stripes have to go from top to bottom, that makes your body look thinner and very pretty, horizontal stripes are something for thin people, but even though we know that African women have big butts, you are a very pretty woman
Yes I am aware of the faux pas of horizontal stripes make you look bigger. But considering I don’t consider myself large and I liked my outfit, I chose to wear what I wanted for comfort and not to please others.
Athens is the ugliest capital in Europe, only the area around the Acropolis is nice

Athens was re-built in an awful way these past decades, most of the beautiful old buildings were brought down and the new ones are ugly. The streets got narrower with cracked pavements and there are very few parks. From any high location you see a sea of grey cement all around. Only a small part around the Acropolis is lovely and they always show that in promotional photos and videos to trick potential tourists

Zonar's is one of the most expensive restaurants in Athens lol. Usually politicians go to eat there.
Also Herodes Atticus Odeon is NOT the very first performing arts theater. It's actually the theater of Dionysus which is a ways to the southeast of the Odeon.

We traveled all the way to Greece to go to a local Greek restaurant and had local coffee and cinnamon rolls made by Greek people. 🇬🇷🤗 we enjoyed more traditional Greek cuisine on other days of our trip as well.
That's Americans for you, so many choices of sweet delicacies in Greece yet they choose an American one. Not suprised.

We never done those hop on hop off bus things thats a great idea
They are great for places that have lots of different sights. And depending how long you’re there, the pass is good for the whole day. So if you want to go explore an area, you can get off for a while and then know that the bus will return.
