Never felt so dumb so early on in a video. The 2x4 pallet breaker is SIMPLY brilliant

Should have move doors up about 1 to 2 inches before attaching so they can be easily open when the grass get taller.

Small tip: when screwing the door hinges to the wall in the upright position, temporarily place a board (“spacer”) under the bottom edge of the door. This will raise the door a little higher so it doesn’t hit the grass/ground when opening.

I must have got the wrong pallets, there was no movement at all trying to remove blanks like you did. Maybe my pallets are hardwood instead of pine because it is not that easy to strip the pallets, The nails in mine are 35 mm of screwed nail and the tiniest piece of small smooth nail near the head. Has taken me 3 hours to remove 5 planks two claw bars, one hammer, one large screw driver, wedges, and one sledge hammer. i'm already over it. its going to take me a week to recover from one pallet . lol

Cool! I can send some photos of mine. Not free but stone is reasonable, locally quarried. I buy it direct. In the drought of 2011, I would not have been able to keep this moist but I know that was extreme. My grandma at 608 Texas Ave. in Austin TX just had a couple of long boards, 12 or 14" tall, one on top of the other to form a square bin around her fig tree.

Man I wish I had seen this video before I started mine. It took me forever to get the planks off the pallets. I ended up using a sawzall but only after throwing Out my back, lol.

Keeping the doors about an inch above the ground they eill not be dragging and eventually ruin the hinges

Is there enough room for proper air exchange between those boards?

I pull the stack out once every 4-6 weeks when it cools down to mix, re-aerate and moisten everything, especially if it has not been raining. Similar to how the pros do with their huge compast stacks, some mixing does speed up the process.
