I have had my clear hydra since 2012, it's still in perfect condition and still my favourite monofin to use in my tails, never had any issues with the straps, nor any blisters. It's strong enough in flowing rivers, and i know others who have used them at the beach.
i have the hydra in blue and it's my first ever and i really like it. I have wide feet and did get sore spots on my toes and heels a few times but only after swimming for hours. edit: i have made a fluke cover and it doesn't slow me down. i am planning to make some tailskins for this summer.(my 1st attempt was the wrong fabric).
You do such great reviews and helped convince me to get a Finis Shooter. This fin would look so cool with a long trailing sheer kelp like fluke since the fin practically becomes invisible in the water. You could pull off some really neat sheer flowy designs.
Shello! Sea Love from StillwaterFX . So I have a question. What are the dimensions of this monofin? I am planning on using this monofin for a charity silicone tail but it's a secret so I don't want to ask the mermaid and give the surprise away. If you could illuminate me as to the dimensions of this fin I would be eternally grateful! Sea Love ❤️💯💪🏾
Hey , I really like this monofin , but I am not sure if it Will fit me. I have a size 9 ( eu: 41) and pretty wide feet. Does this Fin have wide footpockets?
Helena Duyck the hydra goes up to a eu 43, I have fairly wide feet for a woman (10cm) and I am comfortable. If you have wider feet this same style monofin is made in a larger size called the Minos monofin (sizes eu 44-48) which you could wear socks in
I tried one some mer meets ago... I found it too soft. It kept flexing at the feet, even though I swam slow. In the short duration that I had it on, I kept thinking I was going to break it! Despite that, it is quite powerful and one can go very fast in it. Could you do a review on the Extra Larger Mermaid Monofin? I got mine via Ebay. I've not seen many people with it. Its the one with the wavy fin ridges. Here's a pic. aquamermaid.com/products/monofin-only

You always do great reviews!
The shape of this monofin would be really beautiful with an extended fluke like Stellla the Siren's clownfish tail.
That’s a great idea
I'm making a silicone tail for myself and your monofin videos really helped thanks so much for existing! 💟💟💟 much love from StillwaterFX
You are welcome 🙏🏻 thank you for supporting me

Thank you for this video! Making my first tail and also a free diver so trying to find a fin that is a compromise between the two worlds!
I recently bought a Hydra, I haven't swam in it yet but I can't wait to try it.
It’s a lot of fun!!
If you have size 10 and narrow feet will it fit good?
I really want to make a Betta tail and am trying to decide between this fin and the finis wave. Any advice or recommendations?

Sorry for the late reply. 20” wide and 25”heel to tip. Foot pocket is 10”
Can you please review Hydra monofin vs Linden Adult sized Monofin
I have reviews for both on my channel already

The Mermaid Seamstress thank you !
It would probably look really cool in a silicone tail
It would move really well and has a nice low profile
Doesn’t the mermaid cat shop have a different shaped hydra?
yes.
Yes. The one she sells gets cut to a more mermaid shaped which is why it is more expensive
Does this work in finfolk tails?
It is too long to fin in a finfolk tail
Can help me merfolk where I can buy that and I'm from Philippines foot pockets siz 45 To 46 I wish I have a monofins I want to be merman
The Minos is the large version of this. It is sized from 44-48, so it should work for you. I got one on ebay for $60.
