I'm using something very similar by Massoth. Another advantage of the vertical drop clamps is if you need to remove a turnout (or other piece of track for maintenance). Just remove the screws and lift the track piece completely out. Unlike fishplates where you must unsettle all the adjacent track pieces.
Thanks for watching and yes, that is a great point!
I have used split jaw clamps for years with no issues.
Me too. Some stay perfect, and some loosen up over time for some reason.
Question is, how did You Tube know that I am going to a train show/flea market tomorrow looking for these items?
Big Brother is always watching! You can get them sent to you from www.trailli.com
Question, Does anyone have any advice on how I can put the original rail clamps back without damaging the sleepers? Thanks in advance
What type of rail clamps?
Really helpful. New subscriber
Price please, and will you freight to New Zealand?
Do you think it is okay to just use the basic slip on connectors for an outdoor layout if you are only running battery power?
The slip on joiners can loosen over time with weather, running trains etc. Not a big problem with battery power. However if you want a bullet proof track with less likelihood of tracks
coming apart and less maintenance, make the investment in good rail clamps. Difference between rail slip-on joiners and rail clamps.
Let me know if you have any other questions and thank you for your question!
