That hug was the best part❤ I have a question, is there a fongicide for wood patio? Something she could use that would not affect her plants , let's say using a small pump sprayer or even a watering can, to prevent the algae the moss and so forth from going in full bloom in the future? Even at small doses?

100% or even just a close call.
My grandmother fell after she got out of bed one morning. Luckily, she had a medic alert necklace and she pressed it. My uncle got a call from St Johns Ambulance that she had pressed it and he couldn't get a hold of her.
I called my mum and told her to keep trying to get a hold of her and send my Dad and Brother to go and check on them. Unfortunately, she didn't tell them until AFTER they got back from food shopping.
When I started my lunch break, I called the hospital and there was no record of her signing in. I called St John and they said ambulances were backed up 5-7 hours for non-emergencies.
My boss said, "Just go" and I love her for that. I went 60 km (37.3mph) most of the way there as it was a suburban area and not too far from work.
I banged on the side/back door as that's the door we usually use - nothing.
I bang on the front door and started contemplating kicking it in when I hear, "Sam?"
"NANNY?" That's what we have always called our mums mum as my Dads mum preferred Nana.
And I ran around the side of her house to her window and started yelling to her but I couldn't hear her very well, she managed to get some energy to get her mobile phone and she rang me and told me not to break down the door that with her Medic alert necklace she has to put a spare key in a special lockbox on the downpipe but the code she gave me was wrong.
So I called St Johns (who runs the medic alert plan she's with) and they added Nanny to the call who gave them permission to give me the code and I was able to get the key, get in, and help my Nanny.
It was colder IN this old house than it was outside in the sunshine. I had gotten her off the floor and seated before my brother and my Dad even showed up. I shiver to think what would have happened if it wasn't me who showed up first.
Needless to say, she stayed with us until she could move up north to live with my Aunt who actually had a spare room.

The decking boards were installed upside down. The grooves are supposed to be underneath.
Having grooves on the bottom of your decking planks allows for greater airflow from the timber frame beneath and the underside of the board. This is important as it prevents the build-up of damp conditions which can lead to wood rot. Additionally, this can also help negate the risk of timber warping

A few years back, a friend & I had a "handyman" type business and we were hired to power-wash the (obviously not well-maintained) brick patio of a small apartment building. It didn't take too long for us to realize that there was a lot more brickwork in the ground that we'd been told "don't worry about that, it's fine" that was anything *but* fine -- the steps into the building and the walkway leading up to them were as slick as ice. It was an extra 45+ minutes of work that we knew we might not get paid for, but we went ahead and did it anyway, stopping 10-11 times to let various tenants in & out of the building. EVERY ONE OF THEM thanked us profusely, telling us how scared they were of slipping, how many of their friends & guests had fallen or had close calls trying to get in or out, complaining how the management company that served as their landlord kept telling them it was "okay" because "bricks are rough and don't get slippery," etc. etc. etc. I'm glad to see you do this for someone who couldn't safely go in or out that doorway!

Lovely job! The lady reminded me of Helen Mirren a lot and it was so, so lovely to see that warm hug of appreciation that should be a norm in situations of utter selfless kindness such was this one. Perhaps with warm cup of tea included for hard working lads with big hearts. But just a hug would do, I'm sure. XO

Came late back home today already thinking what kind of treasure has been awaiting to cheer me up. And bingo, a terrifying patio turned out so beautiful! And most importantly, SAFE. Elaine and family can now relax in her beautiful garden without fear of falling. That's the core of the blessing. Your second testing cracked me up but for a moment I though you go past the "runway". Great piloting skills saved theday! Cheers to a dad who's the face of kindness. And as always, love the family outings!
