Dude, thats hilarious, and Im sure Ubisoft will try at some point. As a Brit I cant judge any nations historical abuses, but I look forward to Ubisofts attempts to portray the Conquistadores as "stranded underdogs, forced to try and establish a safespace in the South Americas".
Well, just for the record, the evil viking stories are most likely just the history written by the winners. The researchers basically proved those stories about vikings are strongly exagerated, and it is not even some modern things, it was in the XX. century when we had to accept our history is probably mostly propaganda. I don't know too much about Viking history, but I know Hun and Hungarian history, the other "bad guys" in european history and I can say most of the thing you know about Huns are a lie or really misunderstood concept. For example the Huns were christians just like the Hungarians who are basically the same people just lead by different tribes, Huns were lead by the Hun tribe, the Hungarians were lead by the Magyar tribe. Both were christian nation. They were in ally with the Vikings (other thing what is ignored). I will not continue, this is a several thousand years old history started before the Roman history (the Etruscans were Scythians just like the Hun and the Hungarian) history lessons are not for RUclips comments. I just want to say the real history is so much different than written history. Of course I'm not talking about Ubisoft here what is working with the written history and guilty in romanticizing bad guys even if the bad guys were not worst than any other good guy in history, Ubisoft doesn't know that. PS: Just a fun fact, The british Arthur Legend is Atilla Legend, everything in the Arthurian legen is coming from the Atilla legend. This and many other evidence suggest Arthur was a Hun Captain (Ispán or Hispan) and the Excalibur was the Sword of the WarGod what was in the possession of Atilla. I think the person Arthur was Atilla's oldest son Aladár (Alarik) and the legendary Arthur is a mixture of Atilla and Aladár. And the reason the Hun attacked the Roman Empire is because the Romans started to enslave the now called slavic people (originaly Scythians or Scythian tribes) and this made the Hun step in who were christians and they actually strengthened the christianity in the Roman Empire and also ruled both Rome and established a shortly lived but unified Europe. Then Atilla died and the Germanic Huns (west) and the Scythian Huns (east) went to war and the westerners took the crown of Atilla (today the Hungarian Holy Crown) and dozen wagons of gold with them. A century later the Scythians came back led by the Magyars and with the ally of the Vikings they tried to find the Crown of Atilla because they wanted to establish a christian kingdom in Atilla's land (Carpathian Basin) and this is why the Vikings and the Hungarians attacked every place where the Scythian gold was transfered. I guess you don't know this, somehow nobody teach this in schools. Keep in mind I can prove everything what I wrote here, I have evidence and proof. Just for to understand the complete lack ow knowledge what could lead to misunderstanding here is some fact you can learn in schools: 1. The horse archer nations eat meat they softened under the saddle. Actually the skin of the horses could injured during long campaign and they put meat under the saddle what helped to cure the horse's skin. Westerners saw the meat, they didn't knew horses, they assumed it is for food, they wrote it down, we learn OUR history not the real history so we think this myth is true. 2. The horse archers didn't fought in rain because their bow could malfunction in rain. Actually the bow can do just fine even after soaked in water for a day, but the horses can trip on the wet soil and broke their leg. There is still a myth alive recurve bow is not working in rain. See how easy is to misunderstood something. And we still teach and learn the myths as truth. I say don't believe the history written by the winners!
@@21Kiloton I get your hate toward Ubisoft but you handle this "Viking question" competely wrong. You have to understand everything you hear from any form of official source (media, school system, "history" channels) is just there to make money. The correct behavior is right after you hear something you put in the side of your mind and you label it as official history. Then you start researching the subject or if you don't do the research you completelly forgot the official history. I did the same as you did, I learned something and I believed it, than I told it back and there were people who knew better and I made myself a fool. Yes, there will be people who tell you the real history and many of them will not do that nicely, people are not nice nowadays, you made this mistake yourself right in this video. If you are nice it doesn't mean others will be nice to you, it just means if they are not nice they lost their argument right in the start so it is always better to be nice. If there are people who knew the real history than you just made them pissed off with your style. Just saying, coming this from someone who already made the mistakes you making. So only be disrespectfull if you don't want debate, if you made up you mind and just want others to be angry and make themself a fool! But in this case you have to understand this will come back to you when your "fans" will attack others and you end up with toxic environment because many of your fans came here to learn what is their oppinion what they can spread as their own. It is much easier to be open to other's oppinion and be open to the though you might be wrong. This was the scientific method originally, now it is different. For example you said (and we can hear from many places) the DNA of the vikings and the British are matching because the Vikings raped the British, I think the case here is the Viking and the Norman (if I remember correctly) have the same ancestors. This can be proven. In this case it is conceivable the British could have "Viking DNA" (it is not Viking just because the Viking has it) without mass rape. Rape and murder happened all the time and I believed the Viking were the number 1 rapist on the earth because I was told when I was young, but I'm not sure now they were even worst than anybody else. It looks like for me their fame is not coming because what they did but it coming becasue whom they did against. They did bad thing against the winners of our civilization, the German (clear winners of the medieval), the French (clear winners of the renaissance) and the British (absolute winners of the second millenia). So it is your choice, but we living in a world where the truth is the only thing we can use for win, and In my oppinion (what maybe wrong) we either accept the absolute truth and maybe win or accept only what we like and we most likelly lose.
It's a Viking game - where you get penalized for doing precisely the most classic Vikingy things. A Viking game where you get penalized for killing civilians. LOL. That was priceless!! Great review! What a freaking sterilized, revisionist history mess this game seems to be. Once again 21kiloton advocates for us and protects the money in our wallets. Well done lad!

Wow, that skill, uh, "tree" is something else. I actually enjoyed Odyssey, and the skill tree on that was actually intelligible. What they did here is some kinda monstrosity.
I mean, I actually would have liked that feature in AC Odyssey. I learned Kassandra was the canon character after I was already like 25 hours into the game and I wasn't going to do that shit over again, if I could have just switched mid game, I would have.
@@tsdobbi Respectfully, why does everyone care which character is “cannon”? I didn’t have an issue with Alexios’s voice acting, plus isn’t he the character on the game case?
The title of this video is the perfect discription of what the game actually is. It's so flat repetitive and boring. Every mission is basically a carbon copy of the previous one with little bits changed here and there. Ubisoft dropped the ball on this one it's one of the worst AC titles they've brought out in a long time.
Thank you. It really did feel a bit like Ghost Recon Breakpoint with Axes. I know a lot of people that enjoy just zoning out, and pootling around the beautiful open world, but DAMN, this game does not do justice to Vikings, England, OR Assassins Creed. That right there is a feat in itself. Thanks for watching Hysteria.
Might not have been too bad if they’d shortened the length by half, and removed a lot of the unnecessary padding… They salvaged the modern day storyline somewhat, and tied up several old threads left loose in previous games, but many got bored and quit playing before ever approaching the ending. I haven’t truly enjoyed an AC game since Black Flag, but this one could have been a lot better if they hadn’t put sooo much useless padding between the main story bits by trying and failing to make all the content “main content.” I was ruined on this one when spoiler Eivor turns down becoming an Assassin in the end to pursue glory AFTER defying Odin when he wanted Eivor to pursue glory in battle… I have lost all hope of ever playing as an actual Assassin in a new AC game. Don’t get me started on the helix store bullshit.
Yep so much lag in some parts of the tutorial i cant get passed it, when i try it again i'll put the res on 800 or something. I think it was rushed out to fuck your mind in lockdown but they fingered their arseholes too much so now everyones awake to the covid scam.
I heard some people saying this is WAY better than the 2 latest entries... I knew that was f*ing impossible. Thanks for another hilarious, yet factual, review. This is so fun and entertaining, time flies by.
@General Cartman Lee Well, if it means anything, they’d just get gunned down by the police, because rampaging barbarians in the streets probably wouldn’t last long at all.
31:28 "Civilian casualties will result in desynchronization"? What, is this a comedy game? It must be if they would suggest that Vikings slaughtering civilians is somehow out of step with their historical actions.
Lol and MgsV if you hurt a child soldier the mission ends.. it's to make mothers who oversee the rating system happy about morality teaching.. same reason there's no sex in rdr2.. because doing your own wife is unacceptable but murder is perfectly fine..
In Lindisfarne, Vikings burned down a monastery and slaughtered every monk inside it. In Assasins Creed Valhalla, you get a Game over if you punch a monk.
To think that the earliest gameplay trailers touted a 'Dark Souls-like dodge-block-parry stamina-based combat system' and 'hundreds of unique weapon movesets' and that 'social stealth makes a triumphant comeback' - either early access marketing really is gutter trash, or Ubi chickened out from providing an actual high skill ceiling to the combat, or likely a bit of both.
'What's more, if you don't spend a hundred quid and buy the deluxe edition from the start you won't even get full access to the problems" - this line right here, this is the line that killed me. You've got a way with words, 21K!
Honestly the fact that having a futuristic world with crazy advanced tech where women are filling the positions of authority and a guy is actually just doing the shopping with no complaints feels like a power fantasy to anyone is the saddest part for me. Talk about depressingly low standards.

I always get a chuckle from the disclaimer at the beginning of AC games now where they say it is a work of historical fiction. When what they really should say is historically themed fantasy. Because at this point AC games are not good or accurate history and just plain bad fiction.
Man, you’re reviews are epic. I played Kingdom Come Deliverance through to the end and all DLC’s thanks to your review which was on point. Keep up the great work. Your Last of Us 2 content was superb
This bloke is great to listen too, it's like a pod cast inside a game review and he shits on all the games we love to hate!! Perfect! Cheers mate keep it up!
I’ve tried on a couple occasions to go back to it, thinking maybe I just wasn’t giving it a fair chance. But I always hit the same wall of sheer boredom several hours in. The characters are completely devoid of personality. The world is utterly dull. The gameplay is overly repetitive. I know tastes are subjective but I just find Valhalla to be an extremely insufferable and uncompelling game, even for Ubisoft.
24:42 titanium is a beautiful metal (like tungsten) and it is fantastic for when you want strong, light materials for performance bicycles, fighter jets high end drones and the like. It’s Okay at making small (think pocket knife) blades, but even with all our technology, carbon steel still holds the best edge.
Fun Fact: hallucinogenic mushrooms are a major part of pre-christian nordic religious practices. The same is true of Celtic and Germanic peoples. Consuming the shroom before battle was a common ritual. If you've ever done shrooms... well, yeah. If you haven't, fighting in hand to hand combat would be intense to say the least, though there is something to be said for the heightened senses and mental focus shrooms induce.
@Heywood J'Blome it woould be insane but I could see myself doing it. Hell on enough shrooms I could see myself going full Briton Berserker, strip naked and paint myself with the woad, take up a spear and kill some Romans.
I was very confused when this game was first announced. "How are you going to play an Viking when the Animus will desynchronize you for killing civilians. You know, that thing that vikings are well known for."

Lubricant video please, good Sir.
Thank you Edward. Not gonna lie, I really enjoyed making this video. And yes, I am going to keep my head down, stop bringing up the subject, but inevitably give in, and make a video about lubricants. I will try to defy destiny for as long as I can.
This introduction is the best thing you ever produced as a creator. Hell, it is one of the best performances. You truly outdid yourself. Just wonderful.
Your reviews are hilarious, well-written, and honest. Thank you, sir! When do you think we can expect your Cyberpunk 2077 review? It shall be glorious.
Love the video mate. I'm so glad you played this boredom simulator for us! Can't believe I sank hundreds of hrs into the first games of thos series. Now I feel triggered when they release a new title. But there are VIKINGS!
You know I happened to go back to the first game all the way till 3 (I was planning on going to do black flag but haven't gotten round to it.) And I have to say that the main problem with map design of the current series path is "imagine AC2's Tuscany but stretch it to the size of Tuscany" the map scale is so big that they can't really give care to the minutia of the design.
I am not defending vikings but I think british people don't really have much to say about thieving, invasion and slaving, considering UKs (more recent than viking) history and the fact that is one of the richest countries in the world right now.
I'd love to see a trial with him as a lawyer, "your honor my client might be a little shit but those bodies lying in his apartment just happened to fly through the window".
Actually we knew about Titanium long before we used it but it was impossible to extract enough to do anything with. Also, we lacked the tech to smelt or forge the metal. So, yeah, there is no way in Helheim that Vikings would have anything better than some useless white powder to show for Titanium.
That feeling when a new game comes out, and all your doing is sitting on youtube, waiting for that sweet sweet 21Kiloton review. Assassin's Creed is a comedy; but only if you watch influencers over woke reviewers.
This guy knows what he's talking about. I mean he owns an axe. Incontrovertible credentials right there lol Love this video though. 21 kiloton tells it like it is like it or not.
I agree but Vikings are the only thing I'd like / waiting for in a game especially Assassin's Creed. That or Samurais. And now that Predator has both, I'm happy. Hate to buy a broken game...but if I'd wait I'd be 50 years old before they may become component. Which Is why I'm gonna wait until it's on sale. Last year the PSN store, Alotta games especially Breakpoint was like 80 % off. This year it's lame. Especially for a game like this, Division, Ghost Recon or even Hyper Scape with ridiculously priced microtransactions ( it just shop items but the packs themselves). I haven't seen something that bad or padded since something like World Of (X) and (x) where ite $60 for a tank, or $100 for a boat skin.
@@ej1025 I have played the original one with Ezio and it was amazing. I think Black Flag was the last good one, the rest I have played I never even finished it bored me so much.

@@SpragginsDesigns I got a bit burned out of Black Flag right off the get go. Been forcing myself to play it lately. I really dislike how they got rid of Lucy in Brotherhood, and Desmond's story in Revelations was kind of shitty. Turned me off from playing AC3 even though the American Revolution is a great setting.
the 70 -80 h for the Story are just strechted .... most Storyquests are fairly far away from the next fast-travel point, so you have to ride there for 10 minutes instead of watching the lodingscreen for 5 minutes.
This is the impression I had with Watch Dogs Legion too. It seemed intentionally far away every time, a good 2000m+ away from the quest pickup point. Ubisoft are getting scummier at blatantly padding and stretching their games out
So Breath of the wild is bad now? because the fortresses are far away? A game about conquering different kindgoms should have quest locations one next to the other so the poor player don't need to walk around? Is it bad to walk around the world, killing animals and enemies, getting loot, getting materials, checking side content? is it a crime now? its bad game design? The game having a big world to explore, is it bad to incentive exploring it? Is it a bad game design to use your ship to travel around the world listening to dozens and dozens of stories based on the characters that you recruited to your clan, listening to what they have to tell us? How do you make a story about a clan that spends years conquering kingdoms, making allyes, having friends dying and coming, etc, in a short or straight foward campain? How do you give the sense for the player that he is actually expanding his clan when the story is too short? Now its bad when witcher 3 makes you spends dozens of hours doing stories on the main quest that is not about the main plot? You can easily get to any location quiet fast, and not only that, fast travels helps (its not slow on my 1060 6gb pc). You barely spend time traveling in between missions lol.
what are you fucking Talking about? I Just Said, the Quest are always far away from the next fast travel, it makes it obvious, that they wanted to Stretch the time, it has nothing to do with incentivizing exploration. I have the Game on ps4, and the Loadingtimes are Long. Your graphicscard has nothing to do with Loadingtimes, it depends on Your HDD or SSD.

I don't think I'm going to subject myself to 55 hours of mindless numbers grinding for maybe 5 hours of something resembling assassin-ish stuff that is made pointless by the hack and slash nature of the game.
Viking literally were pirates of the time. They get conflated with nordic culture as a whole, but generally they were exiles from their people. For what it's worth.
It does seems like a more reasonable way to handle the animus nonsense (other than scrapping it completely as something that should have got edited out of the franchise 22 games ago) would be to allow you to play as any of those 3 characters the make Hipster, the Trying to look cool and kinda failing young woman, and the childling nerd. Then spec up the in game character with different abilities depending on the gender of the viking chosen and the character connected to them from the future so give it some re-playability. For example spec up crafting for the nerd, or diplomacy for the male and such. But that would require Ubisoft to have an original idea - which they seem to object to having which is a shame - as it might be nice if I could expect better from Far Cry 6 than I currently am - unfortunately - (to be honest all I really wanted was a Cuba/Miami game with lots of boats, planes and cars and some Zelda : Wind Waker style island hoping around the Cuban islands). Or something like Alaska as a hub with travel to other locations in the US via Helicopter or plane (sort of like an expanded version of how parts of Far Cry 4 and New Dawn work). As it stands I think I'm going to get something that is going to make me think I am playing a 1st person Wildlands or Just Cause 3 - and that is kinda a shame. So as it stands the best I'm really hoping for is Far Cry Arcade comes back.
Ubisoft made a game about group known for pillaging their communities, raping women and who also kept slaves... and made this group the obvious misunderstood heroes. Makes perfect sense really.
Just play as a Sturgian in Bannerlord. You don't get a boat but you get to raid, loot, pillage, and ransom the surviving peasents (its secretly slavery and everyone knows it)
The game takes place in a Universe retroactively influenced by a form of Time Travel so any perception of historical inaccuracies are entirely down to inverse temporal ripples and not a mistake on Ubisoft's part. Oh and this game is barely out and it's already down to £35.00 in the UK - remind me why people pay £65.00 again ? (wink)
That literally makes no sense at all. That's like someone saying they didn't cheat because you didn't catch them in the act. And we aren't talking about minor differences, we are talking about EVERY SINGLE THING BEING HISTORICALLY INACCURATE IN EVERY WAY POSSIBLE. Ubisoft could not have been more inaccurate if they tried. I would be more willing to give Ubisoft a pass on the inaccuracies if they had some fing balls and came straight out and said that they were more interested in making a safe product for ratings agencies than they were about historical accuracy. At least be honest.
It baffles me how we can have an assassins creed game based around vikings but get penalised against killing anyone that doesn't count as an 'enemy'. After killing about 3 the game will just kill you for doing something your 'not supposed to'. This has been in literally every damn game with the exception of rogue and i hated it in black flag as well. I don't care if its one of the creed rules not to kill innocents, 1 it's a viking game ffs and 2 assassins creed games stopped being about assassins a very long time ago. Ubisoft just doesn't want us to have fun it seems. That's the vibe I got from playing this viking simulator anyway.
I'm not seeing ppl nerding out on the comments and you did instruct us to "shitpost", so here it goes: Vikingr is actually an activity, the correct term would be scandinavians or something akin to that. But I guess this game is actually about Vikings so nevermind. Oh, wait, I do have one: the spear was the most common weapon, and swords were as common if not more common than axes. Always paired with a shield of course.
Also horns weren't on helms, proper plate armor paired with padded gambisons, and longboats were for coastal raiding, not oceanic exploration and few (if any) had dragon bowheads.
@@Cyromantik yep! About the ships, it's interesting how they are exactly the same as phoenician ships, innit? Even the colors on the sail are the same (red and white), if I'm not wrong. But I don't see many historians connecting those two cultures...
No axes were more common than swords. But they actually used frequently just the axes they used for chores. Cheap, effective. Same as spears. Only veteran or wealthy norse would have a lot of armor, sword etc. Be it through raiding (looting it) or buying it (due to accumulated wealth) or the fact they became mercenaries. The average raider would have a cap or helmet (or nothing), a shield, a spear and maybe an axe/dagger in their kit. As time progressed the more expensive or quality stuff became more widespread though.
This is the first video I have seen of 21 kilotons..... it will not be the last. The sheer apathy in his voice is comedy gold, thank you for crushing this man's soul ubisoft.
As an Irish lad and all the shit the British put us trough even today, calling for an ethnic cleansing of Britain and blind hatred towards it is immature and childish

In "Odyssey," they at least had the savvy to make your character a mercenary who works for both sides of the main conflict (Sparta vs. Athens), neither of which is exclusively villainized to portray the other side as blameless heroes. Obviously both sides are manipulated by the proto-Templars, anyway (not a spoiler, you find that out pretty much immediately). It's completely bizarre to attempt to make the Vikings the victims. Why not do a similar "both sides have merit and they're being conned into open conflict by the shadowy historical revisionism Illuminati" as Assassin's Creed usually does (from Crusader vs. Saracen in the original Assassin's Creed, to Sparta vs. Athens in the previous one)? That way everyone gets to have "their side" portrayed both positively and negatively, with the through-line of the series being that the Templars (or whatever other similar organization) are using a morally ambiguous conflict situation to further some evil overarching agenda?
Odyssey would’ve been great if they allowed it to go full M rated. But every sex opportunity involved going into a room and then cutting away to 10 minutes later. It was like watching a threes company rerun. Actually, check that, threes company was much better.
Funnily enough that could have been an excellent plotline for unity. Even seemed to be building somewhat to that during the multiplayer missions and dead kings But no. The main plotline kinda gets derailed for Arno simping for Elise.
I liked odyssey but hated it, it had so much bloat and often felt like a chore to play, and I didn’t like how your character was a murderous asshole who wasn’t wise like Ezio or even Shay, as for Eivor I really get bored sometimes but I see eivor as Odin and as wise. You know what I mean, but both games imo are good it’s just odyssey gets annoying sometimes imo 😂

>implying everyone else in those times weren’t “colonialists, pillagers, thieves, slave traders and rapists” Why yes, everybody was so noble and well-intentioned back then, except for those barbarians... Face it, the only reason why some people didn’t do shit like that back then was either lack of resources or lack of might. Intentions and ambitions were the same everywhere.
I'm surprised he didn't talk about how one of the first storylines was essentially preform a coup on a Kingdom in order to prop up a Manchurian head of state that will not Interfere with the interests of people who openly want to pillage the wealth of the lands as they are puppeteering the head of State. It is also presented as a good thing because said shadow rulers are your allies.
Viking is an act, not a name. It was the act of Norsemen going on a journey to raid, pillage, and travel. I know that definitions change over time, but people changing definitions makes history a joke.
Shield Maidens didn't exist (with maybe less than a handful of exceptional women who did some fighting... mostly in self defense). Norse Culture was extremely masculine. Women and men had their roles and they performed them. That includes women tending house, children, and farm and men tending farm, trade, politics, raiding, war, etc. People who argue that Shield Maidens existed are pseudo-historians, rewriting things to appease a more woke culture that we live in. Women who went on raids could be akin to a stripper/prostitute/cook/entertainer(music and dancing). They were NOT fighters. Fact is, very little is actually physically written down, drawn, or otherwise depicted of women engaged in actual raiding. It's a fun cosplay thing nowadays, for women. The clothing looks awesome, tattoos were a regular thing to have, DREADLOCKS, yes DREADLOCKS were worn by Nordic Men and Women (no, white people didn't appropriate that), it's great seeing women get involved in a predominantly masculine culture with their boyfriends/husbands/or just by themselves, even though they would not ever have existed historically. Some of the women are dang fine looking with the get ups as well. So, more power to you, if this is something you do. Just know, you would NOT be a shield maiden were you to be living back in 800AD. Matter of fact, if you think you have it hard as woman now, you wouldn't want to live back then at all. Women found with armor in graves are mostly likely someone who was buried with a male relatives armor or husbands armor. It was very typical to be buried with things that meant a lot to you. Men with weapons, horses, dogs, treasures, boats. Women with clothes, jewelry, momentos of their kids, husband, farming tools, or hobby. Contrary to popular belief, Norse culture was NOT gender equal. Far from. Was it more so than other cultures of its time? Sure, to some extent. Example: women were not going to get away with banging a bunch of dudes, get pregnant, and have society take care of the welp, like in todays society. That woman would be left to the cold to tend to her offspring of which no one knows who the father is. However, she wouldn't be outright killed and thrown to the wolves, like in other cultures. Example From the Havamal: "At kveldi skal dag leyfa konu er brennd er mæki er reyndr er mey er gefin er ís er yfir kømr öl er drukkit er". TRANSLATED: "The day must be praised in the evening, a woman, when she is cremated, a sword, when it is proven, a maiden, when she is given away, ice, when it is crossed, ale, when it is drunk.". More generosity was given to beer than women. To be considered a woman, in Norse culture, was not a joke. If you were an effeminate male you would be considered a "girl", that was a burden as a man. NOT good and you were probably used as a" whore". I'm not pointing all of that at you, 21Kiloton. Just the people in the comments who would think otherwise. In any case, though Norse culture is deep and filled with a LOT of nuance and intrigue, it is a culture that the woke are trying to change historically to meet a narrative. It isn't the ONLY culture being twisted and eradicated by the woke revisionists but it is THE primary culture to change, since... you know.... whhhoooooite peepo. It's so badly attacked by the woke that the Nordic countries are also taking their own measures to remove this viking history and culture from the anoles of time with revisioning. I'm looking at you the hardest, Sweden. While the rest of them are working with woke universities and people who don't even belong to the culture to shape it into how THEY want it to be. That would be like an Englishman, born and raised, telling Spain how they need to change their culture, historically, to meet a woke narrative. GTFO, Englishman. Most of my Norse Brothers and Sisters passed this game up. We want authentic, the good and the bad. I'm done ranting but it's a rant that needed to happen. Good video.
Just wanted to let you know I appreciate the time you took to write this, even though it's destined to be buried away in YT comment oblivion and not read by nearly as many people as it deserves.
54:52 THIS is what I come here for and I never fail to get my fix. I'll leave the paper at the agreed upon drop. Thanks again for another great video! Have a great end of the year festivities, even if only with the dungeon dwellers because of the Chinaman.
I would love to hear your versions on how great the history of Christians was. Or maybe about the history of how nice the cowboys treated the Native American. I personally think it’s fun how there is so many people talk shit about other countries history and forget to talk or even think of there own history. I don’t claim that what we did was right, we actually behaved very poorly, but so did other people, no country is perfect people 🤔
Bingo. But seeing how history is always written by the winners you can pretty much guarantee that at very least 70% of what we've been told is bs. We do know however what holy Roman church, spain,Spain, and England did
Jokes on you Mr. 21 kilo, can't spoil something that I never intended to play. Keep up the good work though, look forward to more of your reviews in '21.

Very fair review. I got it on sale, as I did Origins and Odyssey, and it's pretty much the same gaming experience with a different map and cosmetics. That said, I enjoy sneakery and exploration, so I'm enjoying the game for what it is. Half an hour spent infiltrating an enemy fortress to sneak kill everyone is still satisfying. If they bring out a AC: Feudal Japan I'll get it (on sale), but otherwise this format is now long overplayed and probably dead to me. Oh, and all the Animus stuff is just aggravating.
Another ripper review, mate - pun intended. I paid Ubisux $20 to play this game on their U Plus platform - whose an idiot then? After 10 hours I was done. The controls were clunky and it was the same old, same old. As for the rape and pillage, well Ubisux two star employees, Ben Dover and Phil McAvity were definitely trying to rip me a new one while they constantly tried to pillage my wallet - fuck them. Now playing CP 2077 on PC and it's a blast, faults and all - give it another 3 months and it should be way ahead of the pack; hope you'll do a review. All the best for Christmas to you and yours and I know 2021 has promise of good things to come as much of the current toxicity of 2020 will be gone. Cheers, Harry.
The last Ubisoft game I bought at launch was Far Cry 5 and I was super disappointed with that one, especially the terrible dlc. Haven't bought an AC game since Unity and wasn't about to change that. Used to like their Tom Clancy games, but their latest ones were hard passes too. You're better off playing Ghost of Tsushima, although that's just Sony's take on an Ubisoft styled open world time waster.
I feel your pain with regards to the England-bashing. But that's surely nothing new in entertainment. There have probably been more bad guys with an English accent in Hollywood movies than anyone can count at this point. In a historical setting, the English are almost universally depicted as the villains even if the protagonist himself is English. That Villain trope is as common as the ones about Rich Corporate White Guy or Corrupt Police, I would say. Trying to find a single Hollywood movie without either is a bit of a chore these days.
I'm a big AC fan and love Norse/Viking culture and Lore. Having said that this game looks boring as fuck. I usually wait a year or so to get each game at a cut down price. This year I bought AC origins and Odyssey, both with all DLC for around £32 but having watched loads of videos, most of which seem to agree with you, I'll almost certainly be giving this a miss.
I still love and play Severance Blade of Darkness in 2020. And that game came out 2001 (19 years ago). Its still the better time investment, especially since its infinitely more fun to play. And that game is also free, because its "abandonware" thanks to patent trolling. The value is literally invaluable! And here we have a modern game from late 2020. With bad performance, bad combat system, busywork/waste of time, expensive product and is un-fun in way to many ways and aspects in the game design.
Excellent video. This game is a pile of boring trash. Typical Ubi, fanstatic looking world but as boring and shallow as a puddle. Boring boring boring copy paste crap. Busy work. Do this. Go there. Get this. Do that. Find this. Fetch that. Full of Ubi hand holding HUD to remove all challenge. And you can butcher civilians in a VIKING GAME. This is not Assasins Creed. This is Just Cause:Viking. So glad I don't pay more than single digit for these games, wish people would stop pre-ordering really.
Your initial info dump about who vikings were historically disturbed me to my core and I had to pause the video. Call me naive and ignorant if you feel like it but that was one hell of an opener to your review of an Ubisoft open world game. Especially after just watching your Valheim video ...
Ah yes the Jimster. Another excellent truth teller that wades into this ‘do busywork, and pay to not have to do so much of it’ format of Rapeysoft games
Ya I thought this was the worst Assassin's Creed game of all of them - a big reason is because it wasn't Assassin's Creed...like the last couple before it as well. Proud to say I haven't bought a Ubisoft game in half a decade, now.
Ubisoft has already made a friendly pirates and a friendly vikings game. As a Spaniard I can't wait for the friendly conquistadores game :D
Oh dear LOL
Just for to understand the complete lack ow knowledge what could lead to misunderstanding here is some fact you can learn in schools:
No one expects the friendly inquisition now hand me the friendly thumb screws.
Imagine not being allowed to kill civilians in a viking game.
Imagine not knowing the assasins creed lore and then complaining.
Imagine not being allowed to rape & pillage civilians in a Viking game.
Imagine being a polite viking, which even gives a fuck for poetry.
Imagine a viking simulator about politically correct vikings.
Imagine a simulator about Vikings in which it's total experience feels like a boring chore!

I agree with you
Assassins creed Valhalla, a game where you are neither an assassin nor a viking, but hey, you can switch your gender anytime.
Lmao 🤣 True
Just like modern day America.
I mean, I actually would have liked that feature in AC Odyssey. I learned Kassandra was the canon character after I was already like 25 hours into the game and I wasn't going to do that shit over again, if I could have just switched mid game, I would have.
Well, if you think switching from a masculine man to a less masculine man is "switch your gender"
Finally someone who told the truth
Might not have been too bad if they’d shortened the length by half, and removed a lot of the unnecessary padding… They salvaged the modern day storyline somewhat, and tied up several old threads left loose in previous games, but many got bored and quit playing before ever approaching the ending. I haven’t truly enjoyed an AC game since Black Flag, but this one could have been a lot better if they hadn’t put sooo much useless padding between the main story bits by trying and failing to make all the content “main content.” I was ruined on this one when spoiler
Eivor turns down becoming an Assassin in the end to pursue glory AFTER defying Odin when he wanted Eivor to pursue glory in battle… I have lost all hope of ever playing as an actual Assassin in a new AC game. Don’t get me started on the helix store bullshit.

Its not about vikings. In the old assassin's creed games that would happen if you kill civilians.
To be fair, the intention was probably there at some point.

I quite enjoyed it while in Norway for a few hours. Then when I went to England it got really bland and boring.
I always get a chuckle from the disclaimer at the beginning of

When what they really should say is historically themed
fantasy. Because at this point AC games are not good or accurate
history and just plain bad fiction.

Never bothered to buy this game. No way, rather just wait until Ubisoft can make a compatent Assassin's Creed game again after Black Flag.
Assassin's Creed Revelations was the last one I liked, probably because of Ezio and Altair.
@@deralbtraumritter8573 It's hard to find a Vikings game. I don't even know of any besides this one. And I thought this one could be good but after watching some gameplay and reviews, good and bad, it just doesn't look good enough for me to purchase yet. But I'm not a big fan of vikings so I think you would be more likely to buy it first over me since you said you like Vikings. I'm sure the game will go on sale at some point in the next few months or so.

For what it's worth.
not even close
They probably saw all the parallels with Antifa and BLM and assumed the vikings were cast from the same mold.

At least be honest.
being able to play this game as a PONY. How u presented that point, god im crying

I'm not seeing ppl nerding out on the comments and you did instruct us to "shitpost", so here it goes:
Vikingr is actually an activity, the correct term would be scandinavians or something akin to that.

Face it, the only reason why some people didn’t do shit like that back then was either lack of resources or lack of might. Intentions and ambitions were the same everywhere.
Well said bro. My thoughts exactly
Exactly ppl be getting a very romanticized version of their history
Youre not wrong
now i’m sad, in the entire playtrough i didn’t get a chance to bend someone over the table…even the pillaging wasn’t all that satisfactory
you talk about the vikings like everybody else didnt do the exact same things as them. but other than that i agree.

I would love to hear your versions on how great the history of Christians was. Or maybe about the history of how nice the cowboys treated the Native American.

Who gives a shit about cancelled christmas when we get a new 21Kiloton review?
Thank you mate. And Merry Christmas to you and yours.
modern ubisoft: trying to be witcher but they're too lazy, even they can't copy paste mechanics properly.
