I've been through specialized Close Quarter Battle training, security guard training, subterranean warfare course, urban surveillance training, foreign weapons training, helicopter insert/extract master, as well as numerous training with other militaries and their technologies.

The royal marines have done some great adverts in the past, their youtube channel is also mental, all filmed by the navy as i think they use their own media team. Some really intense cinematic videos worth a watch.

Watch the Royal Marines advert in the jungle capturing someone at night. It's one of the best adverts ever. Also the new Royal Navy advert, it's amazing.

The British one was almost like a game or movie trailer. The atmosphere, camerawork, and narration were so professionally and carefully crafted.
The Norwegian one was pretty funny. Maybe it's the same in all the Nordic countries, but from time to time it seems like lots of people forget that the defence forces exist so that nothing would happen. Kind of like you'd pay insurance fees all your life, but if you are lucky, you never need to contact the insurance company. Or you could say firefighters would be happy professionals if they never needed to put their skills to a real test.

They are shocking it doesn’t show our strength as a military force it shows we are becoming weak with ads where someone is praying during battle which would never happen in a real battle and another one of someone falling over and getting back up it’s because of how left society is going and it’s sad watch the Chinese ad where they show the wit military strength because it’s a military ad not being political and trying to please the weirdos who complain about the ads but would never join up themselves like even the Irish have a brilliant ad

Still remember the one that had the strap line of 99.99% need not apply after watching a recruit go through elements of the endurance course. If it is going to be a series you may want to check out the British Army's answer phone ad from the mid 90s (demonstrates the inter-service banter that I imagine occurs in the majority of militaries).

The Royal Marine ads, as a Brit, I remember them playing in the Cinema (movie theater) before the actual movie... a dark room, with massive surround sound... it makes everyone jump. That one you showed at around 4 minutes is actually quite tame; the most jumpy one is the Commando wading through the swamp, comes across this dirty-looking member of some militia (?) - draws on him, then lowers his rifle, 10 Marine Commandos pop out of pure camouflage and then they rush the screen which is where everyone jumps. Check it out if you can! Great video dude!
The Royal Marine advert with the tarantula crawling up his face is a good one, and also the Pirates advert is a Good one.

I'm in the process to joining the Royal Navy as a Seaman Specialist and I think the Royal Navy Ads are brilliant to watch. They really do drag your attention. And believe me when I was 12 and I watch it for the first time I kept going to the careers office to try and join because they really got my attention. So I'd definitely recommend watching the latest Royal Navy ads. They are really good at targeting people from different backgrounds. 👍🇬🇧

I feel like the meaning of “Nothing” in the Norwegian advertising actually means they want nothing to happen. No war, No danger because there military is very capable and will not be an easy target for a threat, and so there won’t be a threat.

I got conned by the ‘be like frank’ ads in the 90s, he was always doing cool shit, skiing, never got beasted, was always having fun 🙄🙄
yeh in the 80's the uk armed forces adverts were more about recruiting from a wide audience, they would show many fields of training like cooks mechanics, engineers, as well as soldiers and airforce personel, even logistics and communications, it was all about getting a larger induction than they needed to have better choices in those they would keep.
Really enjoyed this video! I strongly agree with you one the one of the Royal Marines and the Norwegian army. It's very out of the box and surprising to watch the army from this kind of perspective. The British were good because of the darkness and ominous situation that is set here, though the Norwegian one touched me. There was once a quote "A soldier fight's because he doesn't hate what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him." that really fits so beautifully with the advertising.
This really made me think and look differently at the recruitment videos and how they can contribute to our values. I was already appreciating them, but this made me do that even more. Thank you very much for reacting :)

The US Army video about 2 moms really spoke to me as I am 567lbs with 3 dads and mentally ill. It taught me perhaps the military are not competely bad like the universities are telling me.

This is what should be put in the recruting ad ,In the falklands troops needed to fire 4 mortar rounds at an enemy position but the ground was too rocky the troops had to stand on the plate 4 times each time it shattered the mans leg . 4 rounds 4 broken legs position taken job done

No recruitment videos in Switzerland, we do have videos inviting ladies to join but for us blokes there are none.
The UK went through that 10 years ago, literally every ad was of some sour faced woman showing the men how to be a soldier🙄🙄🙄
@@Jabber-ig3iw mine was a joke, in Switzerland all blokes are called for service, now not all end up in the military but years ago you had to be really in bad condition to be sent to non military civil services.

The Canadian Armed Forces is structured differently than most militaries. Canadian Army, RCAF and RCN were unified in the late 60s. Just google the history. That’s why our government always advertise the CAF and not the separate environments. Thanks for your videos!
