the documentary has subtitles (it's from BTS' page, so it's there). There just not subtitles on the video's from Coldplay's page.
You know in the opening sequence where Jin and JK are bickering over science, and Jimin is dying of laughter? Well the irony here is (and maybe why Jimin was laughing so hard) it's Jimin who actually excelled in science and math in school (top of his class).
the crazy part about the marry me moment was not only did they sing it at the same time but it’s not even a direct line from the song they were referencing. the line from their song they were referencing, Jamais Vu, actually goes “remedyyy” (not marry me). so it was a pretty wild thing for them both to think of putting it into that tune at the same time non the less lll

Yoongi actually wasn't drunk in that one scene you guys are recalling. He was supposed to be acting (for Prologue) there and their dialogue wasn't going to be heard, so they just had to basically come off as brotherly by their gestures and actions. But Yoongi was acting in a way that made him seem drunk and goofy instead of nonchalant xD
The documentary has subtitles for both the English and Korean parts - not sure which version you saw. Do watch the one from BangtanTV. There's no official subtitles for the song, but there are lyric videos that give you a gist of what the Korean parts mean. I'd suggest you react to the song first before the documentary, since the documentary would spoil the song for you.

Also as cute as drunk Kookie was, he's not completely wrong. Apples are considered pro-digestive fruits so eating them at night can make people uncomfortably gassy and can be disruptive to their sleep. That being said 'poison' isn't quite the right word choice there...but its okay cuz he's JK. Einsteinium is also a legitimate element.
I don't think I've ever seen anyone in a reaction video actually point out that Einsteinium exists. I'm always like, are you laughing because of the whole interaction or are you laughing because you think Einsteinium is a joke? 🤣

The documentary on BangtanTV have subtitles so you should be good. And the lyric video, doesn't have the English. But in the documentary it does subtitles the Korean parts. Or when you do the lyric vid bring up doolset. If you do both in one vid you'll get it easily.

Yes, languages do get lost in translation a lot. I'm trying to learn a bit of Korean myself and the sentence structure and grammar and pronunciation is all different. Korean sentences always end in the verb or adjective rather than going directly after the subject and they tend to also omit obvious things like "my" when it's clear from context that you're talking about "my friends" so it would probably end up something along the lines of "Friends and I store went" if you tried to translate it directly. And there are some sounds and vowels that we just plain don't make in English and are really hard to get right. It also doesn't help that Korean has a formality system built into the language, so you could say "I went to the store" in three different ways depending on the formality of the situation (if you're talking to a close friend vs. Someone older than you vs. Someone to be extremely respectful to) and it would be extremely rude to use a lesser formality at times, so really A LOT of that gets lost when translating to English. If you listen to the actual Korean words they are saying and not just the English translation and you know what sounds to listen for, you can tell if they're speaking formally or informally to each other. It's hard, but very fascinating. It's a beautiful language and I look forward to the day when I can watch a RUN BTS or a live without subtitles and understand 50% of what they say. That's my goal. One of these days.
Yeah, Korean is really different. I'm also learning and it's just fascinating how things work in the language. Like you can also add different verb/adjective endings based on what tone you want to give to the sentence. Like if it's a surprised exclamation or if it's just a simple statement and so on. And apparently, there are also more ways you can add to the politness level. Like the -세 in 안녕하세요 is an affix that adds to the politeness level 😂. It can be really confusing, but it's a lot of fun to learn.

@@megancash3990 Yeah, except sometimes it results in some funny mistakes for me. For example I was just listening to Paldogangsan and while I know the words for a "cat" (고양이) and "hometown" (고향), literally my first thought when Yoongi said "고향이 대구" was that he's saying he's "the cat of Daegu" instead of "my hometown is Daegu" 😂😂

And well worth it to be listening to a song or video and all of a sudden recognize words. I may not understand all of the grammar in how it's used yet, but I'm slowly training my ear to pick up vocabulary I know. It makes me smile every time I recognize a new one. 부라해 아미들 💜

A bit of context to the jk clip when he’s going on about the poison apple- He filmed this live after a concert, so obviously it was late at night. Before when he was talking while he peeled the apple on how eating at night wasn’t really good for you-> thus birthed the quote “night apple is poison apple.” It isn’t completely drunk banter considering the context, but even if you watched the entire live it’s quite funny. Just thought I’d give some context in case you were curious :3

While jk doing v-live someone said that, "eating apple at night is poisonous". So he used Google translate to say those words in English that's it but it became iconic.
A night apple is a poison apple is pretty spot on though - it is just a direct translation from a proverb they have and in English it may sound funny but he is pretty right. You eat an apple before you go to bed and your stomach will be messed up - works like a charm for me every time I try :-/

The music video for My Universe comes out tonight at midnight EST, so I am hoping this one will have lyrics, but since it's on Coldplay's channel rather than HYBE's I am not sure if it will have subtitles. There are color-coded lyric videos but those are not the most accurate. The documentary does have subtitles, so you can take a look at it :)

The documentary even had more English subtitles for the Korean lyrics than the lyric video 😅 but not all of the lyrics, so maybe that's what the comment meant? 🤷🏽♀️ But yeah, the lyric video doesn't have translated subtitles so some people have done non-official lyric videos after or doolset is also an option
