How To Plant Coconut Tree | Coconut Planting Method | How To Grow Coconut

Coconut is propagated through seedlings raised from selected coconut seed nuts. Generally, 9 to 12-month-old seedlings are used for planting.
Planting:
Before planting the pits are filled up with topsoil and powdered cow dung/compost up to a depth of 50 to 60 cm. Then take a small pit inside this, so as to accommodate the nut attached to the seedling. Plant the seedling inside this pit and fill it up with soil.

The coconut seedling was planted too deep. A hole of length, width and depth of 60 cm x 60 cm x 60cm is the standard recommendation filled with humus soil of a mixture of animal dung. The seedling should be planted 2.- 5 cm below soil surface. Not buried deep with the soil.

I ignored the usual 6.5-8 meter spacing . I planted 3 seedlings in a one meter triangle the spaced each triangle 6.5 meters apart . Bonus for doing this is 3 trees share one rootball and save on salt , mono crop so creates a thick canopy . Triples the crop on the same amount of space . I only get about 75% of a normal number of nuts per tree but at 3 trees in the space of one tree I get 225% over the next plantation in my area … the trees don’t grow straight up , they fan out for light . Never seen others do this ……
