"OK, see you later, sweet!" Doesn't anyone know how to say "THANK YOU SO MUCH" anymore? I'd spit that out if someone dropped by with some steamed Dungeness crab! Wow! Your ability to pull em in pales only to your generosity! Way to go!

Thanks for your kind remark! We are about 2+ hrs. south of there. The video with Camp Crepes was shot at the Harris & Cannon beaches just north of Brookings, Oregon. Love the coastline in that area. OCIC

We sure try to......fresh, local and organic as much as possible. Crab from the ocean truly makes us localvores. OCIC

Wow, do you take new friends out crabbibg with you, new friends you just met thru the comments visiting from Arizona? Crab is my favorite food and I am able to have it once every few years when a fish restaurant has a deal. You lucky people!

Why certainly.....it is good to "train" new people how to pull those pots and help with the boat launch. Unfortunately, Steve, crab season is currently CLOSED in our area, but check back with us in late fall/early winter. OCIC

We can use a small one since we are so close to the pier and in the bay rather than out miles on the ocean.

i catch my dungeness crabs here in washington state but i use an actual steamer, the way you do it some of the crab is boiled while the rest is steamed. my steamer was inexpensive, is made from aluminum and was intended for use in a chinese restaurant so it's pretty big about 18" in diameter with 2 cooking trays/tiers that are about 6 inches deep. i use it on a turkey fryer burner that burns propane, up here we usually clean our crabs before cooking and just cook the leg/claw clusters so i can fit 2 limits, 24 crabs into both steamer trays and cook them all in one batch, always turns out perfect. some melted butter, old bay and lemon and it's time for a beach party :)

Tie a cork to that gage so it floats next time butter fingers drops it over the side. Technically the trip was over the moment you lost that gage . No gage , no crabbing . But we know you had a back up with you so ... Wine cork on a line attached to your new gage .

I went on my local fish market today and saw some dunny crabs for the first time in my life.
Amazing creatures as I felt the claws and they were heavy.
The crabs were dead obviously, but it was a very cool experience. xx

Love crab but now that they know crabs feel pain..watching them get crammed in a steam pot seems sad . You can Google how to humanely kill them , then steam . Just don't forget ..the butter .
