Made a mistake around 2:26, it sounds like he says “wish sh*t was” but he actually said “wish it was”. This is the first I’ve heard of NFs music and I can’t believe what I’ve been missing out on 🙏🏼 I now know that he doesn’t curse, forgive me ya’ll ❤️
1:56 *Lyrics breakdown* *Tossin' what you want aside for longevity, ain't meant to be* *If it causes everything to collapse and affects your heart heavily* Ignoring your heart calling you to do what you love, and keep doing a job you hate just to survive a little longer, is NOT THE LIFE YOU WERE MEANT TO LIVE. If you are not joyful, then this lifestyle is not meant for you. *What's worth it and what's not?* *What's certain and which side would the coin flip to and land on?* After taking a chance on what you love, there is a lot of uncertainty. Was it worth it to leave the safety of my previous job/relationship/lifestyle? Will I survive? Will I actually get what I'm looking for? *When you guess wrong, do you stand up or stand down?* If Nate really wasn't successful at music, and he flopped as a rapper... should he defend his decision to follow his heart, or admit that he should have just stuck with his 9 to 5 like everyone else? *note: earlier in the song he said even when he guesses, he gets it correct. So he is hinting that he guessed correctly by pursuing his dream as a rapper. *Even with a man down, I man up* Could be referring to his absent father, growing up with a "man down". Yet, he still steps into his role as man and father with dignity. Or, man down could be a metaphor for his trauma holding him back, but he still mans up and make his vision a reality. *Well-rounded, held out for the right outlet* My favorite line of the song. The right outlet is music, specifically rapping. It is an outlet for his emotions. He held out, persevering over years of never having fame, validation or attention. He could have gone to drugs, alcohol, or pills like his mother in dealing with his trauma, but he held out and found a healthy outlet, music, to express his pain. I'll stop here but I love the cadence in this section, and the simple yet effective phrases NF uses. He tells the same message in infinite different ways. Really poignant and without swear words either (which he points out in the bar about a mouth full of hand soap)
@@brycebcb764 oh, yeah it does say the wrong lyric. I think the person who made this video said that they were sorry about it and also said it was their first time listening to him

@Killer The Dark Demon Kross Um, ok
Also he says: "I got calls" not "I got cars" at the beginning of the song.
Yeah
The way he changes his cadence and controls the flow of it. Masterful
His cadence changes are a result of Iyrical genius with adhd
No knowledge, couldn't see the piles of my problems still piled up, past tense man i wish it was.
Nf never swears..thanks for the lyrics tho
I was like, ain't no way nf said shit

Patience is the virtue that counters the sin of wrath.

How are 12 people disliking this 🤣? This is pure genius
The lyrics are incorrect on a lyrics video. I would imagine that's why
These comments about NF going after goats are so annoying😂. I think GOAT's are more his forte. Fantastic lyrics my guy.
Just smoked a blunt to this, it’s on repeat brother!!!!
Yo...coming to see you NF! ❤🎉
Cause He just saved your life

I think he wants his respect so that he can make a song with Em
@@F2NEON1 a song with Eminem and NF would be nothing but 🔥.
Eminem is not a GOAT, in my opinion. Maybe in the past but not now.
@@nwnotorious5168 that's cool! Who's goat?
@@rigovargas9966 thats the thing, I think as the years of rap and hip pop went down the line onto were it is today, its devirsed more than ever.

Notice how this starts like an old Eminem track then goes left on Em!
Thank you RUclips for providing me with the playlist “Mix - Christian music” and it’s mostly NF😂

Like an Ogre?

Lots of NF’s music has me thinking he has DID/OSDD, which OCD can interact with too.
