Anxiety just wanted to make Riley have a perfect future, only to end up making it worse. It’s just like how Joy wanted Riley to always be happy even when there is nothing to be happy about. But they both learned their lesson and have accepted that none of them get to choose who Riley is. What a worthy sequel to the first. 😢
I’ve experienced many panic attacks before, so I know exactly how Riley was feeling. They’re scary. Inside Out 2 was one of the best movies I’ve seen so far.
I thought it was interesting how putting in the old belief system didn't automatically fix it because then the two belief systems were just conflicting each other. I've never had a panic attack myself but my friend who has said this was accurate.
I love how the music suddenly gets quiet when Joy gets into the whirlwind, and Anxiety is just frozen, stuck, phasing in and out, while the buttons are all randomly going off
A great touch as you can see at the beginning now the memories are all mixed up, the clip Joy sent to the trash was a mixture of fear and anger, while all new memories were straight up just anxiety's or Envy's ones, exactly the same mistake Joy made.
This clip gives me all the chills. All the anxiety attacks I've been having the past week are portrayed perfectly here. I almost cried in the theatre because this reminded me of that familiar pain. It couldn't have been done any better.
When I saw Anxiety panicking Crying I started to cry myself since you could tell she'd messed up and hearing joy's words gave her the courage to calm down and that with Anxiety staring at her made me fucking cry.
I had to find this clip because it gave me chills when I first watched it. Here I am now relating a lot more and in tears. My anxiety was doing the same thing she was. All over the place and continuously attempting to solve things that weren't as bad as it seemed and hadn't happened. I'm declaring that my battle with anxiety ends today. I have let it keep me a prisoner for far too long and I can't keep fighting this. I'm focusing on the good in my life and remaining in the present. I'm done with thinking about the past and what or how I could have made certain situations better. The future will be bright because my present always was.

I loved everything about this movie, but… just THIS SCENE in particular, it speaks to my soul! In this moment when Joy recognizes that Anxiety was only ever trying to do the right thing but she just stresses needlessly about stuff and unintentionally ends up tortures herself in doing so, but Joy says that line in a way that she understands she needs to back down not just for Riley’s good but also for her own, and Joy lets her choose to do this so that she can grow. As someone who experiences anxiety as a disorder as well as the feeling, I LOVE how she’s portrayed and how relatable this movie is. It makes me feel so understood. 🥺🥹🤧🥹🥹

Anyone else notice that joy gave sadness Riley’s sense of self when in the last one she didn’t even give her the core memories until the end
