Feast of Saint Mark, evangelist
HOLY GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST ACCORDING TO SAINT MARK
Jesus appeared to the Eleven and said to them:
“Go into the whole world
and proclaim the Gospel to every creature.
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved;
whoever does not believe will be condemned.
These signs will accompany those who believe:
in my name they will drive out demons,
they will speak new languages.
They will pick up serpents with their hands,
and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not harm them.
They will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
Then the Lord Jesus, after he spoke to them,
was taken up into heaven
and took his seat at the right hand of God.
But they went forth and preached everywhere,
while the Lord worked with them
and confirmed the word through accompanying signs.
CEBUANO TRANSLATION
ANG PAGBASA GIKAN SA EBANGHELYO SUMALA NI SAN MARKUS
Si Jesus nagpakita sa Napulog-usa ug miingon kanila:
“Lakaw ngadto sa tibuok kalibotan
ug isangyaw ang Ebanghelyo sa matag binuhat.
Bisan kinsa nga motoo ug magpabautismo maluwas;
bisan kinsa nga dili motoo pagahukman sa silot.
Kini nga mga ilhanan mag-uban niadtong motuo:
sa akong ngalan tabugon nila ang mga demonyo,
sila mosulti ug bag-ong mga pinulongan.
Magkupot silag mga bitin pinaagi sa ilang mga kamot,
ug kong sila makainum ug bisan unsa nga makahilo, kini dili makadaut kanila.
Ipandong nila ang ilang mga kamot sa mga masakiton, ug sila mamaayo.”
Unya ang Ginoong Jesus, human siya misulti kanila,
gibayaw ngadto sa langit
ug milingkod sa tuong kamot sa Dios.
Apan nangadto sila ug nagwali sa tanang dapit,
samtang ang Ginoo nagbuhat uban kanila
ug gipamatud-an ang pulong pinaagi sa mga ilhanan.
