Rattlesnake beans are very popular here in Mississippi. I buy them often at the local farmers market on Saturday morning. My parents always had a big garden. I can remember shelling peas on the side porch . The neighbors would come help. We shelled well into the night until they were all shelled. Those are precious memories at 70 years young. :)
Poor Matt, the bees said "YAY! Matt's HERE to see us!" I bet Granny was so excited about her portion of the beans. Glad the vines have been producing for y'all.
Hope Matt gets a german shepard someday for a best friend and guard dog combined, or a hunting dog if he prefers. I've such a heart for german shepards. They are so devoted to you.❤🐾🐾❤
I'm with Matt. I like cooler weather (60-70). Store bought produce can't compare to homegrown. For lunch today, I had a (store-bought) tomato. I thanked the Lord anyway. Mom always told us "just be glad you've got something to eat!".
Some times I think we have to relearn what our ancestors already knew. I grew up in Missouri...a long line of farmers. They knew to make what we called...Haymaker's Tea (or punch) to keep people hydrated the right way to enable them to work the fields or putting up hay in the heat. It is also called Switchel.
@@apiecemaker1163 It's usually a mix of Spring water, apple cider vinegar, honey, lemon and ginger. You can add any berry fruit...blackberry, blueberry...what's in season type if you like. Some add a pinch of salt too.
Miss Tipper, I can see both of your girls in you while you are sitting there talking. Your husband is a ruggedly handsome, precious southern fella. I just love everything about you both, as well as your beautiful girls!
Matt shows his love by teasing (a learned tactic possibly through his own growing up) but honestly awkward ~ “weird” is not much of a compliment.. and no matter the age, they have the opportunity to grow in how they communicate their love and appreciation so as not to diminish one another. Tipper thanks for your tolerance for all forms of love.
Most all the comments are about the beans, but Matt got me when Butter Milk was mentioned. 10;30 at night here above North Dakota in Manitoba and all stores are closed, except the 7-11 behind me and they don't sell it. Butter milk anguish until tomorrow. My friend's gardens up here started producing tomatoes and beans last week. They generally share, so I can't wait for the real tomato sandwich like Matt. But I use Kraft Miracle Whip and a ton pf pepper. I'm with Matt when it comes to eating every type of food. God's Blessings to all the family.
Y’all have a interesting and entertaining channel. The garden looks great a hard labor of love. All that’s needed now is a dog for Matt to follow him around while he’s working.
What a wonderful big haul of beans. Good for Granny to still have the desire to can all those beans, good for her. Still keeping Granny in prayers and all of you as well. Have a blessed week.
Wow - that was a mess of beans! Wow. Tipper please stay in the moment. Stay in the season. Fall will come and be enjoyed another day. So nice granny was so happy with your veggies. Matt, I flew for years. Prayed a lot and survived. Not doing it ever again! Stats have more people dying in car accidents because more people drive than fly
Y’alls garden looks great, the sounds of those beans beans being dropped into the bucket sounds very familiar 👍🏻 Glad y’all got to share with granny. Y’all’s hard work is paying off. Thanks for turning us on to the outshine popsicles, we really enjoy them recall or no recall lol 😂 We’ve had the same issue before with the pressure switch pipe being frozen and causing the pump not to work.
We started working the garden at 2-3 years old. They taught me early how to know when it was time to pick something. Garden work didn't really bother me, but picking cotton was a different story altogether. Made my hands tough, but wore my back out early. Them sacks was heavy. And weren't enough bandaids to go around. But nothing tastes as good as what's grown in your own soil. At three years old I was given my own patch of ground to grow what I wanted, it was full of maters, some green beans, but loads of maters. There was a certain satisfaction knowing that when we set down for supper I knowed that I growed them green beans. But I eat them maters soon as they was red enough.
If somebody would have told me 5 years ago that I would enjoy sitting and watching someone on RUclips eating Popsicles with pauses in conversation, I would have told them they were crazy. I love you guys, your channel, your way of life (similar to mine), your conversations, your garden/plant knowledge, Appalachian traditions, and love of family. I've only been watching RUclips a couple years now even though I'm roughly your age. I look forward to all your videos. I'm way behind on the Watermelon Hill series, with only so many hours in a day, I skip them to keep up to date on the garden happenings. But again, I love the popsicle conversations, when those are over for the season I will again enjoy the fireside hot coco chats. Blessings to you all.
I'm with Matt. He and i are practically goats, we'll eat darn near anything. Temperatures between 70 daytime and 50 nighttime. PERFECT. Be well guys and God bless.
Now u Reap the Harvest from your tlc put into the work. Sooo glad Grannie is feeling up to enjoying the good veggies from your garden. That Matt certainly the perfect Helper, take good care of your man. ❤
Dogs are a lot of work and a big responsibility. It is not cheap to take good care of them either. Having said that though… I would not trade mine for a new Cadillac or a mansion by the sea. I just don’t feel right without him near by. He is so much company. My shaggy shaggy sheepdog is my ❤️. Somebody has a lot of bean snapping to do. Glad to know Granny feels like working on them. Had my first Cherokee purple today in a salad with Greek dressing. Heavenly😋. Have a nice week and get to snapping! 🫘
"Only thing I'm allergic to is coming unfed." (Matt) Just an idea that you may have already considered....Many youtubers have tshirts for merch for their channel. Many have special sayings/quotes from the people on the channel. I can see a tshirt with this quote as a BEST SELLER! I would certainly purchase one for my husband as he shares that same sentiment. 🤣
Love the beans! 🤗 I agree with Matt on the traffic!! When I go to Asheville to see my son I take a route "with no highways". Takes me about an hour longer but I get to go through some BEAUTIFUL areas. Tryon, Saluda...NC. I arrive so much more less stressed, the extra time is not even noticed.
What a beautiful garden with a great bounty...The beans were fantastic...Matt needs a dog...Olive would love a playmate...I love listening to the nature sounds while you sit outside...and the chickens...I remember the traffic on the interstate going through Atlanta on our way to Florida...I actually said a prayer we made it through it alive...we did but I never would drive there ever again...I hope you both have a Blessed week.🙏🙏🙏
Yours and Matt’s landscape and gardens are so beautiful…. And wow, those beans look super. Jar flys are singing here in West Virginia as well. The Katie dids started this week and are signing loud tonight. Old Timer saying is 6 weeks to first frost when the 1st katydids start singing. My grandparents were always working on the farm with the premise that “winter is coming”, get busy and stay after it. They were 100% correct. Buttermilk poured over crumbled cornbread with some sugar added is a treat. Thanks for sharing your garden. Good bless.
"Hotter 'n torment"! That's a new one on me, and it's very descriptive! I'm with you, Matt - cannot stand the heat. October can't get here soon enough for me. And Tipper, we've had the weirdest summer weather-wise up here in New Hampshire, too. Hot and rainy for days, then a sort of sunny, hotter day, and then hot rain for days again. Yuck. But it's great that you're getting such great harvests, though. The rain's been good for that anyway, right? And, it's VERY sweet to hear Granny's excited to have some canning to do! She's so lucky to have you to help her. Keeping those seasonal routines and traditions is so important, isn't it? I do hope she's feeling better. Oh, and I've always called the cicadas "hotbugs". 😃 Peace be with you, lovely people. 💚
Just like everyone else has said, I am so happy Granny is so happy with the beans and cucumbers!! I have to say, I am the exact opposite about shoes; I am about to turn 50 and I would be barefoot 100% of the time if I could, lol! My feet are so calloused from years of barefoot walking, but my hubby of 30 years, (26 years as a Marine) has the feet of a newborn baby! He can barely go barefoot in the house - I guess opposites DO attract, 😂!!
Hi Tipper and Matt, what a beautiful day you had to be outside you all are so blessed. I think matt and i must be kin folks lol because I'm the same way i love winter the cold and snow. I get excited when it starts turning fall because I'm looking forward to the first frost. I also attracts bees they attack me anytime I'm in the yard plus all the bugs just eat me up i love buttermilk I'm the only one in our family that does i love tomato sandwiches but now i don't like mayonnaise and i have never been on a airplane i would probably have a heart attack lol but I'm scared of heights i get so dizzy and sick at my stomach plus oh boy I'm a dog person i have always had dogs as long as i can remember being a only child my dogs kept me company we didn't have any neighbors at all i sure wish we still owned that 40 acre's with all the beautiful trees and creeks . When it snowed it was a winter wonderland. sending Blessings and prayers to all of you. Hope granny keeps improving. Love watching you guys i also agree I'm not cut out for living where they are so much traffic and people 💚💚💚💚
Still HOT here in Florida. Some rain too. Really have to watch ourselves and our animals that we stay hydrated. My husband works outside daily and his employer buys electrolyte popsicles for the guys. Plus cold water. Our beaches are packed with tourists..lots of drownings due to rip currents. So sad! Since we had cat 5 hurricane Michael in 2018 the gulf has been so dangerous. No way am I swimming out there.. beautiful but deadly. Every week I get more homesick for NC.. thinking September we will visit our home again. One thing we have is great neighbors there, so we don’t worry about the place. Can’t wait to pick our fox grapes. This afternoon I am making pickled carrots..lol. I recently discovered that I LOVE them.. I am on a clean food/paleo diet thru my doctor to lose weight and for health reasons..after the pancreas cancer scare this spring I want to be as healthy as possible. Still dealing with issues related to the liver and ducts but my chronic pain has all but disappeared! Awaiting bloodwork results to see how levels have changed. But I know for a fact food was the cause of 75% of my problems. So no more processed crap. Love watching the garden to table videos and recipes. I went from 6+ sodas a day and no water intake to no sodas and just water. That’s huge to me. Can’t wait for more videos to drop. Love hearing news of granny. Hope y’all have a wonderful week.. April
I am addicted to the OutShine Grape popsicle...they are the best. I love when Food Lion has Bogo, buy one, get one free. I try to load up then. Thank you for introducing them to me. The company should supply ya'll with FREE popsicles. ❤
I love how Tipper put her popsicle over for Mat to tap it for Cheers and he just knows what she’s thinking! You guys get along so well, and it is like sitting with friends, shooting the breeze! I was trying to figure out if the noise was locusts Oh, what are they call cicadas? Anyway, it was fun hanging out. I dream of the day when my husband retires in two years and we can move somewhere like there!
Tipper, I love your hat, I have to say.. I wear a three in children shoes,a 5in women I am a short lady,my husband orders my shoes in the children department, it's cheaper, it tickles me, cause I'm a 62 year old woman,I loved your vlog thank you for sharing your garden and family with us,give Granny a hug,God bless honey ☮️
I'm still jealous of your bean stand!!! Believe it or not.. I finally have blooms on my okry and a few small small pods that have started. I can't tell you the joy that brings me. Okry just doesn't happen on this side of the mountains in the Pacific Northwest so my prayers and fist shaking have done some good I guess. Got so many squash and onions yesterday that I was forced to do something with all of them today and I usually don't put forth any effort on a Sunday other than church and meals. You garden and yard is so beautiful no matter how overgrown you might think that it is... it looks incredible. Hugs to you both.
Wow what great crop of beans....Ive never seen beans grown like that but what a great idea....so much easier on the back when picking ! Beautiful Garden
I like those kind of cucumbers you are growing. The ones with the prickly spiney look? They sure make good bread and butter pickles. The green beans are such a blessing. These videos of you and Matt are a good past time to watch. People these days don't know how to stop and smell the roses......... Granny's dinner sounds so dang good and I love buttermilk as well.......🌿🌺🌿🌺🌿
I was grocery shopping with my friend and I saw the out shine coconut Popsicles, so I bought a box. It was a hot day so we had one on our way to her house. I told her the toe nail story😂. They are delicious!!
Hi Tipper and Matt Wish I had some of those beautiful beans A reader said she found the coconut popsicles . Guess I missed the video about the popsicles and the toe nail story. Please give me the info for the video. Can’t wait to see it.
I need to thank you for turning me on to rattlesnake beans. Those have become my favorites as they taste good and produce. I’m with granny I love cannin green beans. I can them in chicken broth and oh are they ever good. I can eat a whole jar. Seein all them buckets of green beans, ain’t that just such a good feelin? Feels good like when you can ‘‘em all. Feelin of accomplishment 😊
Been a vegetarian for decades. I started researching the carnivore diet (Dr. Chaffee, Dr. Berry, Homesteadhow, Jordan Peterson). and switched 3 weeks ago. The health benefits listed by others and experienced myself are nothing short of miraculous.
We have been growing rattlesnake beans since 2006, and tomorrow I am planting a second run of them. I save save seeds every year. They are great and I always have enough to can and share. 😊
Flying being safer than cars reminds me of a Laverne and Shirley episode. Laverne was afraid to fly, they told her nobody ever heard of a plane crashing into a cloud and she said nobody ever fell 30,000 ft out of a DeSoto (thats a car I haven't thought of in a long time)
In the old days of the high sierra’s during the really high heat. Great grams used to make a Liter of water, a fist of sugar; and a pinch of salt. Will keep the body able to stave of the heat. Add flavor if you like. Blessing to you all. Prayers from Brooks, Oregon to granny and the family.
Thanks, Tipper, for re-introducing me to the Outshine popsicles. I used to buy them but somehow forgot about them. My favorite is the coconut. I always think about what Matt said about the coconut!
Matt the bees and bugs do me the same way. I'm very happy for your harvest. We have had to plant our beans twice. Something has been eating them. We finally started spraying with repel away. That works really good for deer and groundhogs that we have trouble with. It stinks and the animals don't like it. We have been watching a 12-point buck and 2 does in our back hillside. They come all the time. I think one of the doe is pregnant. First time I have seen them come in the day and at night. I put up sweet banana peppers and Hungarian wax peppers today. We need to check our beans to see how far they are.

I'm happy to hear Granny is well enough to can some beans❤
The way the world is today, I find such comfort in your videos. Thank you.
Matt's a lucky man, he has found paradise in his own back yard. As Dorothy said there's no place like home.
I love the way you two interact...if the mean lady who lives here with me... ☺️ The good-natured teasing is priceless! Enjoyed the visit 😎👍
Matt is showing love when he's giving away his tomatoes! ❤
Your garden looks good n beautiful, love watching your videos God bless y'all

Our Parents paid us for shelling the Beans ❤❤yes they spoiled us ❤❤Our Parents were the Best ❤Love
I’m in Mississippi too. I remember sitting with my grandmother on the porch, snapping beans ❤️❤️
They eat green beans like I eat peas!
Videos are Beautiful and Comforting ❤❤Especially Matt toasting Popsicle with his Bride Tipper 👰 so Special ❤❤
Poor Matt, the bees said "YAY! Matt's HERE to see us!" I bet Granny was so excited about her portion of the beans. Glad the vines have been producing for y'all.
Beans looks so good
Life on earth is short. Dogs are blessings. The protection is invaluable.
I vote for Matt to get him a pup. Especially if or when he retires. Your garden looks great!
Hope Matt gets a german shepard someday for a best friend and guard dog combined, or a hunting dog if he prefers. I've such a heart for german shepards. They are so devoted to you.❤🐾🐾❤
im with matt 100 percent about being on a plane!! the beans are simply beautiful. That is great news granny is feeling well enough to can green beans.
Tipper- you saying to Matt "you're not scared of nothing that I know of" was the perfect loving reply to him....just perfect.
Those beans are beautiful. I'm sure Granny was thrilled to have those wonderful vegetables ❤
Ok Tipper, Matt needs his own dog! Also glad Granny feels up to canning. Grammy from Texas

I really enjoyed this. Sending support, love, and kindness from Lexington, Michigan, USA
Many many blessings to you and yours.
The two of you are straight up a breath of fresh air. No fabricated nuttin'... just good and real. Thank you.
🤗 Thank you for another video showing us a tight knit family.
You are so welcome!
Matt is so handsome.
Wow what a beautiful harvest of beans.
Those beans looked amazing! Granny will love the cucumbers, too!❤
Thank you 😃
I'm with Matt, anything over 65 degrees is too HOT!
Canned grape juice. Yum. Yum. Yum.
You two are just so content in your environment. It must be nice. That is sure a mess of beans you picked! ❤️🇨🇦
I was about to clean around the house and I now have something to listen to while I clean!!!
😃 Yay!
I do the same! Play the videos and listen as I do chores.
I agree Matt!! About flying, I feel I have a better chance in a car or truck🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
As always I enjoy watching you both working in your garden as you spend time together. I call y'all my mountain family 🤗 Have a blessed evening 🙏
Wow what great crop of beans....Ive never seen beans grown like that but what a great idea....so much easier on the back when picking ! Beautiful Garden
Matt must be the bee piper lol those green beans look great god bless
I like those kind of cucumbers you are growing. The ones with the prickly spiney look? They sure make good bread and butter pickles. The green beans are such a blessing. These videos of you and Matt are a good past time to watch. People these days don't know how to stop and smell the roses......... Granny's dinner sounds so dang good and I love buttermilk as well.......🌿🌺🌿🌺🌿
Happy Sunday Tipper and Matt , Thank yous both for sharing your Sunday with us . Have a wonderful week and stay safe.
I was grocery shopping with my friend and I saw the out shine coconut Popsicles, so I bought a box. It was a hot day so we had one on our way to her house. I told her the toe nail story😂. They are delicious!!
Hi Tipper and Matt
Wish I had some of those beautiful beans
A reader said she found the coconut popsicles .
Enjoyed seeing you work together & sweet on each other.
:)
Greetings from Richardson Texas! Thank you for all of this sharing about your lives! Blessings!
Thanks for watching!
Greetings from Dallas Texas, neighbor!
We have been growing rattlesnake beans since 2006, and tomorrow I am planting a second run of them. I save save seeds every year. They are great and I always have enough to can and share. 😊
They do so good 😃
Hi how fast do the rattlesnake beans grow? I’m in maryland and trying to decide if I have enough time this season
@@lizzybennett4436 I am in Eastern Washington, zone 7, and I am planting a second crop tomorrow. Hope that helps. ☺️
@@lizzybennett4436 60 day, plant to harvest
Keep on keeping on!!!
Flying being safer than cars reminds me of a Laverne and Shirley episode. Laverne was afraid to fly, they told her nobody ever heard of a plane crashing into a cloud and she said nobody ever fell 30,000 ft out of a DeSoto (thats a car I haven't thought of in a long time)
😃
So happy for Granny, getting to can green beans 🙏🏼
Love the peaceful noise of nature. So relaxing. 🐓
I expected to see "Jack" in those beanstalks. Incredible display of growth looking so beautiful.
I agree with Matt. I ain't getting on no plane! I'm glad Granny seems to be doing good. Your garden is beautiful.
Granny is the cutest, bless her heart. I’m glad y’all got her some beans and maters
Love to see you picking those beans. Glad to hear granny is able to can her beans.
Love y'all!!!!!
