You should have mentioned that with PSVR2 resolution in games is being rendered differently. With built-in eye tracking game renders the highest number of pixels where you look at on the screen and renders everything else with less resolution to save up on resources. Our eyes are only super sharp right in the middle of our retinas (fovea centralis), while all other parts of our retina have progressively less and less photoreceptors to the point that our peripheral vision is colourless and so blurry we can only spot movement.
this is a really valid point. With this in mind, is it fair to say that the rendered image here for the side by side comparison is not reflective of the user experience? I have a PSVR2 and find the image quality to be VERY crisp wherever i look (as good as the PCVR if not better!)

I guessed the first 2 correct, the PC version has better reflections in the water. Look at the clip at night when thunder cracks you can see the light in the water from the thunder on the PC but can't on the PS5
"What people see on the screen is exactly what people see in the vr is wrong" I fully agree with this, my freind told me abput the psvr, saying, "wow the psvr2 has bad graphics". He shows me a video And i say, "dude, its literally a screen. Then my friend said he never played vr before but somehow knew, and i was laughin.
Hi all! What do you guys think of the PSVR2? I honestly think it is a good headset and I really like the Plug 'n Play Part. Especially because I don't have to fiddle with settings. I personally can spend hours tweaking settings on PCVR, so this is quite a relieve. But, as someone that plays a lot of simulators, PCVR is for me the way to go. But the PSVR2 with RE 8 and Horizon offers some great content that I enjoy!
I love PCVR because of mods and flat to VR conversion. I do use a vive Pro2 with a 4090 though, so I find I can get the best out of poorly optimised games like ATS/ETS. Even though it can be a little frustrating tweeking your settings to get that best running version, when you do get it, it feels great! For me personally, having control over the settings is key, whereas on PSVR2 you just have to accept the game as is.
As long as the games you want to play is available, there's no reason to go with anything other than the PS5 VR2 combo. To achieve similar performance on a PC will cost you at least twice as much and more likely 3 times as much. Yes, a high end 2nd gen PC setup maybe better in some area. But there's just no beating a complete, simple to setup solution at under $1100. not to mention eye tracking and an OLED display with super fast pixel response.
Valve index user here. I politely disagree. I'm glad Sony has joined the conversation, but true PCVR is better in all areas not just some. Faster Frame times = No motion sickness, Lighthouse outside/in tracking = Highest speed and accuracy tracking and the ability to track body parts and controllers behind your back, Faster FPS = Fools your brain into believing it's real easier. Direct Connection to GPU and power = No need to charge it so swap controllers and keep playing. There are TONS of reasons to use a high end PC setup. Does that mean that PSVR2 sucks? NO! It's GREAT Value, just please don't kid yourself. True PCVR is better in EVERY way, which is why it costs so much, and requires so much setup.
@@josephwimerYoYoYo Are you trying to tell me that a 1440x1600 non HDR LCD based 800g headset is actually better than a 2000x2040 HDR OLED 560g headset with higher resolution, larger color volume and almost infinite contrast ration with super fast pixel response (actually, reduction in ghosting and motion blur reduce the chance of motion sickness more than a high refresh rate) ? Yes, Pixel can do 144hz vs the 120hz of the VR2 but don't think it'll be noticeable by most user. It may have better accuracy with the tracking station and the controller may have better finger tracking but I think the eye tacking on the VR2 will actually be more useful in game. As I said. A high end PC based VR setup maybe better in some area but there's no beating the VR2 as an overall complete package. Game availability is pretty much the only reason I would go PC VR at the present.
@@josephwimerYoYoYo it's a bit difficult to completely agree on this one. I've got 2 PCVR headsets and one mobile VR headset and on paper there are enough interesting technological innovations on PSVR2 so I bought one today. It will be interesting to compare them together.
No offense but you didn't give PCVR a fair take. The HTC Vive, or the Valve Index has outside/in tracking that is unbeatable by any camera driven sensor systems. The frame loss from having to use the wireless connectivity or even the wired workaround for PC connection for the Quest 2 and Pico 4 is just staggering. Literally. Direct connect something that uses the Lighthouse tracking system to your GPU and you will be experiencing true PCVR. sub 3ms frametimes are totally possible on that 3080ti, and make more of a difference than people realize. I really wish people would stop calling Quest 2 VR "PCVR" You don't even need a PC to use it, and meta has never focused on the PC during development. You can call me a snob if you want, but if you ever get your hands on an Index you will understand why I took the time to write this. It just means you haven't tried the most immersive experience yet, and have more to look forward to. VR is awesome!

There isn't a set definition of pc vr. Its a massive variable depending on your gpu, cpu Headset, etc etc etc. I've ran all sorts of headsets which all have their pros and cons. If I'm honest some headsets are better at certain things. I recently played half life alyx on a Pico 4 the blacks were way better than my varjo aero. But jump into SIM racing and the aero felt better due to the clarity. It seems the Pico suffers massively with high paced games, the video compression is noticeable. There isn't a perfect headset yet....
@@killerklinge52 sure but your really suiting this to your narrative. And yeah APU is cheaper and uses less power that's a given.. An apu can't match performance benchmarks of a good dedicated GPU. Thus you will get more power from a "good" dedicated modern gpu like a 4070ti.

Dedicated GPUS have first to communicate with the CPU, a GPU alone will do nothing and if there are bandwith problems between GPU and CPU you will not use the raw power correctly. An APU dont have that bottleneck. I’m not swapping a reverb G2 and an RTX 3090ti for a PSVR. None of these scenes seem very gpu intensive so you won’t see much performance difference. We’re not really comparing apples with apples here. A proper pcvr setup will wipe the floor with psvr.
The washed out colours are because your PCVR headsets aren’t OLED, so you get over gamma over exposed washed out colours. Get a Vive Pro or a good HTC PCVR headset and you’ll see why they are worth the money.
As a PC VR USER... all this PSVR2 fanboysim is just laughable... The GPUs on the PC are far better for VR gameplay... better fps, better graphics, and smoother experience... This test merely took a snapshot from a game that is highly optimized for consoles. However the PSVR2 is still very a good headset... It still needs some improvements in terms of Sony improving the store experience and mods in the private sector for better cooling fans, Lens for IPD and FOV, and Expanding the paltry library of the PSVR2 to include PSVR1 games that were some of the best lineup of games ever in VR. Once this is done the PSVR2 will be able to give the PCVR a run for its money and become a must have for VR enthusiast.
Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Gaming 12GB, intel Core i9-9900K VS PS5... that is true difference, because if PC headset had "eye tracking" rendering they probably could reach much higher resolutions.
not necessarily. it depends on the headset you get. if you get the PS VR2 you’ll be playing on 4K displays and getting something like the Valve Index won’t give you as good of a resolution. doesn’t matter how good your PC is. i have a 4080 and definitely going with the PS VR2, especially because i can’t wait to play GT7 with the headset’s haptics and a racing wheel.
I tried my buddies psvr2 and it’s not nearly as impressive as many people are saying. It has really bad smearing in fast motion like GT7. Horizon only runs at 45fps with reprojection and I can totally see the Mura effect. It’s only slightly better than a quest 2 and a decent PC rig. It’s still really good but nowhere near the WOW people are saying. Sorry.
The truth is Kayak VR has absolutely terrible ghosting that makes it almost unplayable on PSVR2 and it won't show on the video. I've played tons of PSVR1 and Quest 2 games with asynchronous reprojection and none of them had ghosting this bad, not even close.

Because of the mura effect on PSVR2 (not visible on your video) I recommand choosing PCVR version by far..
Ok, I can very easily see the difference personally, I was expecting PSVR to be the left one tbh due to how much sharper the image is but the PSVR still does look fantastic. To think consoles now have this level of VR now is actually exciting for the future of VR games and ports.
Nms smooth ? The whole screen lagging and ghosting lol
I prefer the sunlight on the PC side because it looks realistic.
Cope, you prefer them stutters on a 1.5k rig
@@wizzenberryround 700 and it's better than a playstation you're gonna say" It's 200 more🤡" yeah but free online,cheaper games,mods,80% more games go fuck your p$ssy harder
I don’t see this blurriness that you speak of in Kayak, but No mans sky needs to fixing.
so the slight blurriness in the psvr2 headset is due to a filter to eliminate the screen door effect, the blurriness is not even remotely noticeable after a couple minutes of playing
So tempted to buy PSVR2 for these games in particular but I really wish there was more software for it. Especially some jrpgs. I know I will want a Quest 3 down the road for designing and more obscure titles but I'll probably need to upgrade my pc before then.

Heads up to anyone thinking that gt7 is blurry in VR. It was blurry for me for days, and I'm like "let me try my kids' mother's glasses" and hold and behold, super clear. So, to all those thinking that Sony lied about the VR headset resolution quality, you are wrong. You need your eyes checked. Just as I need mine checked. Shout out to the random commenter in another video that suggested to people to check their eyes/vision.
............
Fast regularly, consume mostly raw fruit/veggies, stay away from the phone/social media for a while and your eyes should be fixed. I should take my own advice. My point is to try other ways to fix your vision before getting glasses.
But if you already have gt7 psvr2 or getting it soon, then better go check your vision and get prescription glasses, as the fixing the vision with the other ways I mentioned takes time, patience, determination, discipline.
Really nice 😊
Thanks buddy! Appreciate the comment
Are you from the Netherlands?
It’s the best experience plug and play for the price. Pcvr is a pain in the ass and you know what I mean 30 mins of settings adjustments to play 20 mins.
What settings? I play hours on end and I just plug it in the link cable or run it wireless via virtual desktop.
I guessed the first 2 correct, the PC version has better reflections in the water. Look at the clip at night when thunder cracks you can see the light in the water from the thunder on the PC but can't on the PS5
I guess I see the difference because i guessed both right. The pcvr2 seems to have better contrasting
I notice that too colors are detailed better on PSVR2
"What people see on the screen is exactly what people see in the vr is wrong"
I fully agree with this, my freind told me abput the psvr, saying, "wow the psvr2 has bad graphics". He shows me a video
And i say, "dude, its literally a screen. Then my friend said he never played vr before but somehow knew, and i was laughin.
the games in psvr 2 got way too much mura(dirty screen effect) and reprojection its a pitty it destroys the picture
Great comparison - thanks!
I have it but haven’t tried it yet. I wonder if the sweet spot being more sensitive is a primary issue for PSVR. I’ll test tomorrow for sure.
Have you tried gt7 yet
PC vr better PS library is trash
As long as the games you want to play is available, there's no reason to go with anything other than the PS5 VR2 combo. To achieve similar performance on a PC will cost you at least twice as much and more likely 3 times as much. Yes, a high end 2nd gen PC setup maybe better in some area. But there's just no beating a complete, simple to setup solution at under $1100. not to mention eye tracking and an OLED display with super fast pixel response.
True this! Thanks for the comment Wizz!
That’s what I was thinking
PCVR means which hp or ocolus or acer or asus. u did not tell.
"Blurry" is a misunderstood word. Lover rez graphics is not the same as blurry. I am waiting on the pc support for the psvr 2.
Straight up I would not get my pcvr. I'm so tired of having to mess with the settings every time and getting lag even with a good cable. I love putting in a game in the PS4 and knowing it's optimized properly
finaly a person tat have comparet pico4 aplause great jop!!! i like the Pico 4
thanks bud!
PCVR? What headset lol? A Quest or a Pimax crystal
In the head set is different
ps vr2 i own it, i have an hp reverb g2 and the psvr2 beats it hands down, screen door is basically non-existent, the eye tracking is amazing, and the strap is comfortable finally ps 0 light leak in it as well.
What gpu are you using?
I have no expression in vr gaming ... And i want to go in highest level of quality in vr right now available which u you will consider me ... Is psvr2 really the peak of vr headset right now?? Will u suggest me this?
@@AbhishekSingh-jw3gc it will definitly be a smooth experience for first time users, with a lot of nice new features. But it is wired, i like my quest 2 connected wirelessly to my PC and it's almost like magic, awesome experience👌
Check comments. So many people saying PSVR2 has bad screen door effect when it isn’t possible. There is no pixel gap issue. Seems people are lying to bash the PSVR2.
@@jamesfoster5165 Don't think that's true? There IS screendoor but not as bad as some people make it out to be. I found the worst issue to be when looking around and moving, very blured and stuttering in some scenes.
Love the psvr2 aswell , my only Problem that i have is that 70% of the games out there are horror games and my head hurts after 2 hrs of playing , think its a lilbit to heavy !
cant really compare them because of different pc specs and different vr headsets. pc vr head sets some are higher rez some have oled some have higher fov
i got both right and i can tell a difference, but thats because im looking for it. PCVR is going to look better, PS5 is a mid range PC equivelant. This is something ppl dont understand
on 55 inch display you can see the different very easy even with bad recording quality of your video
The left one looks much better
I was expecting you to say "jokes on you I lied" because the one you say is the PCVR looks actually better in every clip you showed in terms of clarity at least. A bit behind on the AA but generally it looks a tiny bit better than the PSVR 2 imo.
Update: the psvr2 got a upgrade with better resolution, and flight Sims are on their way!
Foveated rendering gives it away on PSVR2. 🙂
Id say my biggest gripe is the face haptics. I would SO rather have a better lens that the gimmicky haptics
Quality of haptics indeed! But I'm not gonna lie that o really like the trigger feedback when shooting guns!
PCVR uses a dedicated GPU, PSVR uses an APU. For an APU the PSVR2 performs really well.
APUs perform better than dedicated GPUs. Not with raw power but with effectivness.
@@killerklinge52 not sure what your trying to say, but a good GPU can still outperform it due to raw power
@@montys8237 an APU outperform a GPU in price and electrical power and a 10tflops APU will perform better than a 10tflops cpu+gpu build
@@montys8237 watch digital foundry there are many games in which good GPUS laggs and perform not that good do to bandwith problems. GPU+CPU on one do have better bandwith and are all in all better optimized. With performance i mean not the FPS in games but the overall performance, the effectivnes with which the raw power is converted. Dedicated GPUS have first to communicate with the CPU, a GPU alone will do nothing and if there are bandwith problems between GPU and CPU you will not use the raw power correctly. An APU dont have that bottleneck. Its like you compare ot to a heavy weight fighter , yes the heavy weight fighter has more raw power than lightweight fighter but if the heavy weight fighter has stamina problems, bad fighting technic and so so its wasted potencial, while the leigttweight has good boxing skills and reached his full potencial, so in my unterstanding the leightweight for his class performs better than the heavy weight
I’m not swapping a reverb G2 and an RTX 3090ti for a PSVR. None of these scenes seem very gpu intensive so you won’t see much performance difference. We’re not really comparing apples with apples here. A proper pcvr setup will wipe the floor with psvr.
U can just do more witb quest 2 pcvr
You can see the difference straight away
The quest 2 is a really bad headset to compare tbh. You should use a real pcvr only headset to see the real deal, like the vive pro 2.
Wow I’m shock!!! The whole time I thought that was pc
And its not even utilizing foveated redering
Congratulations for not saying the PS2 was the end of PC vr.
No man sky is an absolute shame right now… I really enjoy every other game but no man sky needs an resolution update. It needs foveated rendering
just set all on low on PCVR in NMS and you are golden, same image as PSVR2 without lags
The No man Sky is basically PSVR1 version. The devs AGAIN rushed it to tne new hardware (PSVR2). Shame on them and just hope for soon patches...
PSVR2 has fovated rendering you can't just take the signal from the monitor
The washed out colours are because your PCVR headsets aren’t OLED, so you get over gamma over exposed washed out colours.
Get a Vive Pro or a good HTC PCVR headset and you’ll see why they are worth the money.
Why VR headsets are do expensive... 550€ what the hell
It's pretty much like a console on itself with all the tech inside of ot

the game is sell hardware...

PS5...
that is true difference, because if PC headset had "eye tracking" rendering they probably could reach much higher resolutions.
not necessarily. it depends on the headset you get. if you get the PS VR2 you’ll be playing on 4K displays and getting something like the Valve Index won’t give you as good of a resolution. doesn’t matter how good your PC is. i have a 4080 and definitely going with the PS VR2, especially because i can’t wait to play GT7 with the headset’s haptics and a racing wheel.
Same here. Still need to dust of my steering wheel!!
Ill wait until there are better games. Im not spending 600 bucks to play 1 or 2 great games.
BS
