Brian Black There's a big difference between content, providing jobs and being "liked." Faizon's original statement was that Perry "is a better movie producer," which speaks to the product Perry puts out. The product he puts out is his content. Therefore, Faizon was concluding Perry is the better movie producer based off his content. He never mentioned "providing jobs" until Ebro's loud mouth a$$ brought it up. There is no way Perry's content is better than Spike's. Everyone knows that statement is terribly false. In addition, everyone knows Spike is not necessarily "well liked." Whether or not he's liked, has nothing to do with the quality of movies he puts out. Faizon doesn't like Spike Lee for personal reasons, and that's totally okay. Then maybe you also are sadly mistaken. Spike has done more films that educate and spark conversation about the back experience in America past and present. Tyler Perry is more about the comedic side of things. Spike probably stays way from "actors" like Faizon because he doesn't have the talent to be characters that possess the type of depth he is looking for to tackle such serious issues.
Yes, Spike has been called one throughout his career. And it's the same story, mostly less successful blacks calling out more successful blacks for actually trying to make a change while they just talk about it. But looking at Faizon's body of work, I don't even see how he even begins to fix his lips to speak about Spike in such a manner.
