  • STEM technology has evolved into all kinds of fantastic forms with many brands bringing craft and electronics together in new and innovative ways. There’s plenty of products which make use of ‘paper circuits’; platforms which allow you to create devices and circuits using household craft materials such as paper, rather than a traditional PCB. Some of our favourite brands for educational electronics are Chibitronics, Circuit Scribe, and Makey Makey, and copper tape is used extensively in projects for all of these platforms. So what is this magical copper tape?

    I want to know something. Is conductive adhesive tape strips good for connecting batteries together in series and/or parallel? I want to make my own battery packs and I noticed some batteries do NOT do well with soldering.

    • @Core-Electronics

      Creating battery packs is definitely more advanced than what this guide is meant to demonstrate. Nickel Ribbon and a Spot welder are the tools you really would want. This fellow has a great guide (but take all of his warnings and safety measures to heart) - ruclips.net/video/hwhqn4BmC2I/видео.html&

    I need to reattach small wires to a small 'memmory battery" in my old hand held transcciever. Will this stuff work?

    Hey!! VERY COOL!! I'm interested in setting up strips of LEDs hidden in moldings that will be recessed from the ceiling and go all around the room to give a nice, ambient light reflected from the ceiling. What I need to know is, What I need to know is, what is the maximum amperage capacity of the copper tape and are there other tapes of greater capacity to help me do this?

      Sounds like a fascinating project. I'd recommend you post this question and any others there. Our support staff and other makers maybe able give you an answer.

    Can we use an abbreviation for conductive adhesive copper tape and non conductive adhesive copper tape because when talking about the conductive adhesive copper foil tape or non conductive adhesive copper foil tape it just gets repetitive. Copper foil tape whether it be the conductive or non conductive adhesive tape can be a mouthful to say especially when you have to refer to the conductive adhesive copper foil tape or the nonadhesive copper tape many times in the video. However, I did find your explanation of conductive adhesive copper foil tape and non conductive adhesive copper foil tape to be interesting.

    you`r shorting the bat with the tape, it hit´s both sides of the batery. kan the tape hold for 12v 50w . i dont like kabels in my boat then sa this video. i kod paint ower rhe tape .

    • @TheHoboWithAShotgun

      Ur better off using kynar wire and small SMD LEDs for model cars this method ain’t practical

    • @paulweston8184
      @paulweston8184 4 года назад

      Yes. You just stick this on the hotwheels car and stick leds and a battery on it as well. Sounds pretty bad ass to me.

    The take home message: Copper tape really sucks! If you want to learn electronics....learn to solder!

  • @TheRev0
    @TheRev0 2 года назад

    6:01 wiping the soldering tip over the tinned wire is an exceptionally horrible technique to teach? The iron coating on the tip is pretty thin. People will reduce the life of their tips if they emulate you often.

    • @Core-Electronics
      @Core-Electronics  2 года назад

      It’ll last just fine, soldering iron tips are no strangers to wire :)

    Cool but total waste of time much easier an faster to use normal methods like a breadboard premed circuit board etc

      It is usefull when using microcontroller test circuits though. As those are often SMD components and/or do not have a standard 2,54mm pin spacing.
