Awesome explanation. Being a physics graduate, i have never enjoyed the law of conservation of energy apart from just trying to understand it. I feel immensely happy to understand this at least now. It's really motivating to learn science by watching your videos sir.

Dear instructor, first of all thank you for this video. I'm studying Physics Engineering in Turkey. However, due to the pandemic, our lessons are online. I have trouble understanding the lessons, but I discovered you, and I can do my physics assignments (Serway and fundamental of physics) more comfortably. Thank you for your dedication.

also losing energy to friction on the ramp. which essentially transfers the energy to the ramp in the form of heat created and static electricity. miniscule amounts but still relevent. essentially a product of friction (both air friction against the molecules of the air and friction between the wheels and the plastic. not to mention it contains allot of energy that its not releasing. (or releasing extremely slow) e=mc2. its mass is also a form of energy. even the shape of the ramp essentially creates force between the car and the ramp when the direction is changed. essentially inertia.

The elastic was stretched about 10 cm (0.1 metre in SI units) with an “average” force equivalent to about 1 kilogram (about 10 Newton’s of force in SI) (this is like the weight of a liter of water or milk) giving 0.1 X 10 = 1 Joule of energy. Just in case anyone was wondering why it was simply 1 joule in elastic.

    • @ManochaAcademy

Good question! People don't fall off due to their inertia of motion. Some books also explain this in terms of centrifugal force that people experience on the roller coaster. Centrifugal force is a pseudo force and it's actually due to the inertia of motion.
