Just discovered your videos and I must say they're all super high quality. I really appreciate them as I've just started out trying to make game sound effects. In my opinion sounds that don't exist in real life (such as magic) are the hardest to get right and most free sound effect libraries focus more on "real" sounds, so this is super useful. I was wondering if you're working on more videos in this series, and if so can I suggest lightning type magic? I'm struggling a lot with just that :)
Hey Zodiaclawl, I'm glad you are enjoying the videos =^.^=. The Magic Series is a 12 Part Series that will include the following videos. - Magical Textures - Fire Magic - Water Magic - Earth Magic - Wind Magic - Lightning Magic - Ice Magic - Toxic Magic - Holy Magic - Dark Magic - Melee Magic - Defence Magic Each video builds from the previous one so I'm not repeating a bunch of information in every video. The goal is to have everything you need to make good magic spells by the time the series is done =^.^=
@@AftertouchAudio I was wondering what would happen if I'd submerge my zoom recorder while in air tight plastic container, and move some water around lol can a mic even pick up anything if air cant reach it?
dude just gotta say Ive discoverd your channel and am binging and creating my own sounds a with these techniques - so pro sounding when you add heavy compression etc - thanks for the series and the vids! - MA✨
Finally wait for your update, thank you for your production and efforts. I have a little suggestion. Would you like to sell your design engineering documents on your website? I think we should pay you for what you do
On ASound Effects, look up a creator called MOEN Libraries, they have a male and female "Voices of Battle" Library that I use quite a bit. (They were the libraries used in this video). ASound Effects is where I get like 70% of my generic libraries as there selection is massive.
@@AftertouchAudio I was thinking of ordering some from Fiverr's voice artists maybe because a lot of these libraries don't allow you to sell SFX that were made by using their sounds, even if they were just one of the layers in the final mix of your own creation. One library that has no problem with this as long as you don't re-sell their sound effects 'as they are' is Soundsnap, I've contacted support just to be sure and it's all cool. But they're like 250$/year which is kind of ok, but I also want to eat something for Christmas.
@@CyberwaveOrchestra Yea, there are very few libraries that will allow you to re-sell their sounds. Fiver is not a bad idea though as you are purchasing their voices so you technically own the recordings.
I only use Ableton Live as a Sound Design Tool. I don't really use it for my main driver. I personally use Nuendo & ProTools for everything else, soooooooo learn another DAW if you would like, they are good tools to know.
Sometimes you can use sealed bags for other purposes. I'm talking about contraception. This will keep your microphones dry. Yes, this is not the best DIY and if the tightness is poor, you can regret your decision to save money. But this is also a way out when it is necessary now. In general, this whole topic is very interesting. It's a pity the few likes.
Give it a few years, I'll get there haha. The issue with it is you'll hear the bag moving but I always ran the samples through a low pass filter anyways so the samples were always usable.
I'm in love with these magic sound design videos. Thanks a lot Tyler😁
Hey! I'm glad you enjoyed the video!!! Earth Magic is next =^.^=
This series has been so helpful as a beginning sound designer! Thank you thank you thank you.
Hey Branden, I'm glad you've been enjoying the series. The videos are few and far between but the Air one is in the works =^.^=
Well done! Huge help
Just found out this series today and I can't wait for the new one. Awesome videos!
Hey Jun! I'm super glad you enjoyed the water magic video =^.^= The next one should be Earth Magic =^.^=
Awesome stuff! Honestly, this tip of adding the VOX and BG on the sound redesign is totally true. It made the scene much more immersive
It only helps enhance your redesigns as it sounds more complete =^.^=
Great series mate, I appreciate the effort you put into these!
Thank you Aturax! I'm having a lot of fun making the videos with some cool individuals =^.^=
Really helpfull tips ! Big up from France
Thank you Hugo! Earth magic should be coming out in the next few weeks =^.^=
really enjoying these videos! I know how much time it takes to produce them so I appreciate it!
Thank you Zegan, I'm glad you are enjoying them =^.^=

@@AftertouchAudio I was wondering what would happen if I'd submerge my zoom recorder while in air tight plastic container, and move some water around lol can a mic even pick up anything if air cant reach it?
@@CyberwaveOrchestra It actually can as the bag will vibrate. I use to do that with Zoom H1 recorders be very caful though as a leak can be bad.
@@AftertouchAudio Mine is also H1n, not expensive but I love that thing. I'll have to double check for leaks before trying
@@CyberwaveOrchestra That was the reason for me using the H1n haha, they were not that expensive and if they broke I would not be heartbroken.
Thanks for this video. I purchased the big WATER pack earlier appreciate you sharing the knowledge

Great tutorial. 🙌Hydrophones looks like excellent fun. Am I right in thinking Envy is Pro Tools only? 🤔 any alternatives?
Envy is not protocols only, but Reformer Pro is kinds similar.
@@AftertouchAudio Oh it’s stand alone too! Missed that. Thanks 🙏
Hi~I would like to ask 04:22 What is the software for processing sound and where can I download it ?I look forward to your reply!
It is called Envy and it is made from a software company called The Cargo Cult.

so insightful ❤️

What documents are you interested in? I tend to give an alarming amount of things away on Discord for Free haha.
Could you please make a video of how to organize my Nuendo session? :D
Thank you!
I can, but I have no issue hoping in a Discord call and showing you my template for mixing.
@@AftertouchAudio wow, that would be amazing, i've just joined your Discord group (Alexandarth)
How has this only got 1.5K views?! :O
Maybe one day haha, I'm glad you enjoyed the video as there will be many more videos coming in this magic series.
great video! I luv to practice with the water spell clip you use on this video
could you let me know what the name of that game?
If you join the discord server I can send you three of them, just shoot me a message but all the clips came from Black Desert Online.

Can I use FL studio to do game sound design
I know lots of sound designers that use FL in their daily workflow. I use it sometimes for the plugins they have.
Awesome!
Hey Carles, Glad you enjoyed the video =^.^=
thanks for video...
skyrim so much change lately.....
I see a lot of Ableton Live, I can only use Cubase and Raper. Can I learn Ableton Live

what software do you use and how do i get it
I'm using a software called Nuendo, Cubase will do a lot of the same things.
