I'm so old that I can remember my father looking at a TV Guide magazine and telling me about this new series called "Star Trek" that was premiering in the fall. That was really well done. I could totally follow the story just by watching your models and animation without any human actors. The real science fiction come true is that individuals can create stuff like this now. I remember when that was unimaginable.
I was a kid, staying over at my cousins, watching Star Trek for the first time way past my bedtime. They had cable, and AC, too, which further powers this memory. In the 70's
I remember watching the first broadcast on TV of the first series including pilot episode. We all thought it was very good. It was well anticipated and when it arrived it was no dissapointment.
Very nice work, exciting stuff indeed. I love how the Larson's Captain knew he was outgunned and ordered the ship to get out of there, only to return when big daddy had shown up and flexed his overpower!
This is my favourite kind of fan production, one that shows us a short, simple story that's fun and gives us a little more insight into the setting it draws from.
Back in college in the 1980s, I ran an FASA Star Trek campaign for the Entente, commanded by Commodore Duncan Blaire. Seeing this made me think that perhaps this was that ship, coming to the rescue. Thanks for a great memory!
I love this!!!! And the fasa designs are incredible. Also I'm a huge fan or vessels like the larson. Underpowered scout vessels who are drastically out matched and still willing to engage and assist
Beautifully done! Awesome video, it was like watching an episode of real Star Trek. Also, great ships, a dreadnaught class and a Jackson class fighting side by side. It’s very awesome
@@sabrewolf4129 I don’t know? It looks to be a Jackson class, that’s the USS Larson, not NX Larson, and based off its construction and design it seems to be a Jackson class, I could be wrong though.😅
🖖😎👍Very totally wonderfully cool and very nicely greatly fabulously well done in every spectacular detail way shape and format provided and executed by you as always indeed Sir!.
Very Well Done in animation and transition between scenes!!! I ALWAYS Felt..... that those Klingon ships stuck out like ....... a Turkey's Neck before Thanksgiving!!! 🦃🍗
I've got three moderate negatives- I'm not convinced of every starship encounter being close quarters, let alone THAT close quarters, unless fighting in a Nebula [which wasn't even this close in]; not convinced by the emphasis on in-atmosphere operations by starships; and that's not enough shuttles to evac a settlement that size. But I still loved this. Seriously. I would be happy to see tons of content like this.
Whoa, what's this? The federation actually targeting the glaring structural weak point of Klingon ship designs? It's like a top shelf Christmas present! Also that Lawson and Federation classed looked amazing and, both behaved in combat in a reasonable way. Top notch stuff.
If you are using AE for the phaser beams, you can use a simple mask with soft feather. That makes the start and end frames of the effect look more like the shows ✌
@@chrislea1000 Yeah, masks are basic part of After Effects layers. Every layer has them and applies them to the layer. You just need to add a few keyframes to your mask shape and put it in the middle of the beam when it starts and stops and set the feathering to a high value so it creates a smooth beam transition.
@@mysticmarble94 Thanks for the knowledge share :) I used to render phasers directly in Blender but there are limitations on how fast and to what scale you can do that - will take a look
Amazing m8y very nice indeed i hope to see alot alot more and soon, keep up the brilliant work and superb ship designs im a shop designer myself 🖖🏿🖖🏻🖖🏿🖖
The C7, in Star Fleet Battles & Star Fleet Command PC game, was the heavy battlecruiser (pocket battleship) version of the D7. There was also the FASA L7 fast battlecruiser, which was also based on the basic D7 hull. Unfortunately, there is a limit as to how much stuff that can be attached installed or bolted onto a D7 hull.
Wow. That's some heavy stuff, in more ways than one. (and honestly, I still have a hard time with Klingons in the Federation in "TNG" and beyond; I'm more like Kirk in the first part of "The Undiscovered Country".) 4:33 is fantastic in this vid!
The 4 year war or the Klingon large raidings aka alien viking accord to FASA and Starfleet Museum. In Star Trek official canon, One Year Klingon/Federation War🤓
@@chrislea1000 Four Year War/FASA/Starfleet Museum, from my perspective. "official" canon doesn't count many great things, so it's not so "official" for me. (I know you didn't ask me, but figured I'd still respond)
The model work is good. But to be honest, every Trek fan film I watch is all about ships fighting it out in space. I would, for once, like to see a fan-produced Trek video with a real science fiction story.
I love that Larson model. Been my second favorite TOS fed design since I first saw it in the ST:III Fasa game. Is that a small shuttle bay just above the impulse engines?

Phenomenonal! You give the old FASA ships such beauty and life.
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching!
One of the best interpretations of the Larson class! Fantastic work!
Glad someone else remembers the old FASA _Star Trek_ RPG game...
Fantastic work, love the adherence to TOS with the klingons using their heavy disruptors in the wings.
Glad you enjoyed it
That was pretty cool. Good animation overall. I could easily watch an entire series based on this type of animation. Story was good too.
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed

Loved the return of the Entente! Very dramatic!
Nice short!
Glad you liked it - had to dig deep for that reference
Loving this! That dreadnought needs to be on more videos.
Another great short. Models, animation, effects, transitions are well designed and executed. The story was also immersive with sound Trek tactics.

What we need is the NX01 Refit with a aged Archer screaming out of warp yelling for the Klingons to GO TO HELL.
Seems that the fed wasn't losing all it's battles against the klingons.
nicely made ... only missing some blue Warp nacelle glow ... & it´s better made than ST-DIS
