    It's not correct to comment on your videos "Break a leg or I'm proud of you'.
    My parents say "I'm proud of you."
    I have doubts about her real personality.

    Thank you, Mike for explaining tese mistakes.
    You see, we use the word "dear" for showing our respect to smb.
    To say simply " Mike" for us is not common.
    And one more thing :
    When American people write to us they use the word " dear" before our names.
    That's why it's a little bit confusing for me.

      Yes. We use It before names on letters/emails. That's completely different from calling someone "dear" as a pet name/term of affection.

    😮😮 so much things. How can I remember? This point about dear, its perfect. I fight when someone specially men come to me call me Dear. Its exact like that. I think its not respectful for me. And sometimes its like someone try show its better or make me in child situation. Sorry my bad english. 😅

      Yes. That's exactly how many people feel when someone calls them "dear". I would only accept "dear" from a woman old enough to be my mother.

      You shouldn't see it often, but it does exist. It means "seas".

      People used to write very formal/romantic sounding letters. We continued using the word "Dear" in letters/emails just because of tradition.
      But generally, "Dear" is only used in formal writing nowadays.

      Go to sleep late = start sleeping later than normal
      Sleep late = wake up later than normal

I like this word so much, so can I use it with people who I consider them my friends that I have special kind of love and I was close with them.       Some native speakers use it with people who are not family, but many people are offended or annoyed by this.
