My boss had a Mk3 turbo diesel Vauxhall Astra Estate fitted with the cracking Isuzu turbo diesel engine, and it performed well with a decent turn of speed and had good fuel economy with just about enough room for 5 adults plus a good bootspace, which gets better with the seats folded, to create a good loadlugging vehicle.
I had a 1.4 Merit 1995 on an N reg. Had it for 4 years (2001 to 2005) before it was wrote off in a supermarket shunt. Was a good, comfy and reliable car.
Ive had 3 of the 2.0 GSI redtop. I want another one, but are very rare to find these days. Only around 300 approximately left in the country, DVLA registered that is.
I had one of it here in Brazil, GM used to import it from Belgium with the 2.0 powertrain from brazilian Chevrolet, here it was sold under the Chevrolet brand, with the chromed "V" of the Vauxhall on the grille and the Opel brand in the drive wheel...
I had one Astra ('93 1.4l 60HP Base model) from 03/2017 to 10.11.2017, where it was totaled in an accident where another Car ('17 Passat) crashed into me from behind. It was going about 70km/h faster than me (~55MPH). The whole body was pressed together with the rear Bumper blocking the left rear Wheel. Fortunaly, i wasn't injured. Now I drive a second Base Model Astra F 1.4 Face Lift ('09/1994) with the exact same Engine, Steering, Gearbox and co. The only differences are the Color ('93 Dark Red/ '94 Dark Green, w. Painted Bumpers), the Dashboard Color ('93 light grey Plastic as shown in Video/ '94 Fake Leather Optic Black Plastic), the Radio ('94 Aftermarket CD/USB/AUX/TUNER Radio with internal Display and external Amplifier in the Trunk, generating 400W /'93 Basic Cassette/Tuner as shown in Video) and the '94 Electric central Door Locker. The '93 was a "Opel Astra F-CC GL and the '94 is a Opel Astra F-CC GLS. Yes, I live in Germany
@MrNickcafc loads of astras =p and i still got 1 ... even with a small motor .. i started a project that shows how a simple motor 1.4L i with 82 hp from stock .. can still be a 1.4l but with racing parts .. and still get the respect of every one ;)
I still have a 1.6 astra f from '97. I really love how quite the engine is. On the highway the tires are actually louder than the engine and that's kinda annoying
I had mk3 astra gsi but it isn't vauxhall because my country sales opel, 2.0 16Vampire is legend body and have a c20xe motor technology, really amazing car :)))
I bought an astra 1.6 once coz I needed a car quickly had it for about 4 months it was horrible felt like a twat in it called it a noddy car , handled rubbish seats were crap, ugly the mechanic that recommended it was pi55ed off I got rid of it as he was the one that maintained it , the rear wiper falled the shocks were gone and after 1 month the head gasket went , worst car I have ever owned even if it was for a few months
@@mosesbullrush8051 dont be a sheep , snowflake ? what drugs are you on,iam saying it was a horrid car thats all if you dont like being offended fuck off from you tube.
