I Tried Convertible High Heels 👠

  • EDIT: reviewing the instructions, we did use the shoe correctly - for the d'orsay shoe and the bootie, the base plates (the thing that fell off in the beginning) were removed before making them flats, and the instructions didn't include anything about a second other base plate! everything that came in the box was used in the video - there may be other parts available separately or potentially there's a different convertible shoe company that includes a flat base plate? although, apparently the shoes may flatten over time!!
    today we tried convertible heels from Pashion Footwear! there was a bit of a learning curve when it came to taking the heels on and off but i ended up getting the hang of it. the shoes with heels on felt like a pretty normal pair of shoes, but the shoes in their flat form were a little more… elf chic. overall though these were super fun and i can see the use if you need flats fast - kind of like high heels with an emergency exit.

      @maddalenasegato I'm ready to be invested because I love heels but I'd rather have 4 different styles and base colours and just switch out the heels for different occasions and days. And then when I travel, I just bring one pair of shoes and as many heels as I see fit. Better than shoving 3 pairs in a full suit case again lmao

      Realistically that's how they should work. You use the heel at the beginning of the night, get pictures, doing your thing. Then when your feet get tired or you're a little too drunk for the heels you convert. Although i would just take another pair of shoes to change into.

    I wore these to my best friends wedding 3yrs ago. I am 5'11 with a size 11 foot, flat feet, and bunions, and THESE ARE THE BEST SHOES FOR A WEDDING I HAVE FOUND! I was able to wear the heel for the ceremony, but then converting it to the flat for the reception was wonderful. And with all the movement and dancing, the 'elf' quality to them was actually beneficial haha. But yeah, for the money I spent on them, to not feel uncomfortable in my footware for 12hrs on my feet was outstanding! That's another thing, you really don't feel like you have to break them in, which is wild. I personally loved the shoes!

    • @gotmilk9843

      @@lethfuil I know for me personally, I’m a short girlie and many of my office wear “dress pants” are WAY too long for me to wear without heels. Ofc I could just get them tailored, but I already have heels, so I wear the pants with heels to work. Now, I sure look awkward for my 15-20 minute walk to work in my flats with my pants rolled up ✋💀, but it doesn’t matter much in the grand scheme that I look nice for my 8 hour work day, and I still get to steal some comfort back. But regardless of all that, I’d say it’s truly just personal preference. If some girlies just want to wear heels to work and don’t mind carrying around an extra shoe for their commute, I think they should totally be able to 💕

    Honestly, "high heels with an emergency exit" is an amazing product in and of itself. Nearly every girl at a highschool dance brings heels, and by the end of the night 50% of them either go barefoot or switch into backup shoes, so this function would be useful for beginner high heel users.

    this is exactly what i've been saying about "convertible" shoes since they started marketing them. you can't make a high heel shoe with a sturdy sole that actually supports the foot that can flatten enough to be comfortable and not weird looking as a flat. you just can't. the only way to make a true convertible shoe would be making the sole super flexible which would mean zero support when on a high heel.

    • @lana87765
      @lana87765 Год назад +21

      But with the additional base plate would that not make it more sturdy?

    • @alisfromwonderland5723
      @alisfromwonderland5723 Год назад

      @@lana87765 for the shoe to be actually supportive the base plate would have to go all the way from the tip of the shoe to the heel, otherwise a part of the shoe would be flappy and thus not stable enough to be safe. is it doable? yes. but it defeats the purpose of quick and convenient convertible shoe. it would also NOT flatten all the way unless the base plate was completely removable (which is my main point against realistic convertible shoes) because in order for a high heel shoe to work you NEED a curved sole towards the tip. this is inherently incompatible with a flat shoe.
      the sturdy sole that is present in conventional high heel shoes and that goes from the tip to the heel is necessary to keep your foot in the right position for walking. if whichever part of that sole is soft your foot will have to maintain the position by flexing the muscles which will amplify strain. if you added a base plate between the heel and the ball of your foot, you would still have to make sure that your toes are bent upwards by flexing them constantly.
      creating a convertible shoe that has the sturdy curved part available for support when in the "high heel" position but is also capable of completely flattening when the high heel is removed would mean a ballet flat with a soft sole that comes with a removable curved sole with a high heel that you can snap onto the shoe. this, again, defeats the purpose of a convertible shoe.
      you can't make a convertible shoe that simply pops up a heel like it's a bicycle kickstand that is both flexible enough to be comfortable as a flat and supportive as a high heel.

      I just looked that up. The shoes are exquisite on their own AND they have three different heel heights and styles. Oh my goodness 🤩

      That's a shame. I like there concept a lot better and it makes sense for the "flat" to still have a little block heel to avoid the eld problem.

    This was always my fear with convertible heels. I remember mentioning to my mom as a child that if you could just take the heel off when your feet start hurting it would be great lol. Then these came out and i felt robbed of my invention paycheck 😂😂 but yeah they are literally shaped to be heels so id only take the heel off in an emergency.

      Truly the idea everyone has thought of! We're so excited that we were finally able to bring the idea to fruition 🥹

    Esse foi meu projeto na faculdade em 2005… logicamente não tínhamos a verba necessária pra fazer algo bonito assim😅
    Espero que continue avançando pois será muito útil❤️

    They look like well designed high heels, too.
    They’re clearly for people who don’t like wearing heels, not just because they transform but because the heel itself is wide, which makes wearing them a lot easier as they’re more sturdy and supportive than super skinny heels.
    And the heel starts right near the back of the foot so you’re supported under your entire heel, not just in one tiny spot.
