After he was mercilessly beaten by the disciples of Sheikh Ebrahim Niass (Not Baye Niass) of Kaolack, Sheikh Ahmed Ceesay after recovering from the torture attended a post-election/victory celebration where he happily announced that he was the one that was beaten up.
In the video, the London Corner born is heard provoking his torturers more. He repeatedly chanted "Sugn baye mor nyu jurr" and even asked the crowd to chant along after him. In case you don't know, he is challenging Sheikh Ebrahim Niass, son of Alhagie Mot Sainabou who predicted a clear win for Modou Ndiaye Rahma. According to the Sheikh, people should question if Alhagie Mot Sainabou is his dad if Mr. Ndiaye Rahma doesn't win the Mayoral election that took place yesterday (January 23rd)
Well, Sheikh Ahmed Ceesay landed himself in trouble by asking people on his whatsapp to patiently wait for the 23rd and see if Mr. Ndiaye Rahma will win or not. This action did not sit well with the kids and disciples of the Sheikh who allegedly kidnapped and beat him mercilessly.
If you are imagining that the London Corner born will cease fire after receiving thorough beatens, well you got it wrong. In fact, he now turns it into a sarcastic song.
It could be recalled that Sheikh Ceesay told Gambians to stay away and let him fight his own fight because he may do things that may disappoint them (Gambians), thus, he strongly advised that his battle be left for him to fight.
This did not sit well with a lot of Gambians. However, some held the belief that this wasn't about Sheikh Ahmed Ceesay but a fight for justice and to prevent future occurrence.
