- Well, some new BR changes are here and just like any other ones, there seems to be a lot of controversy around them. To test the waters, I fly out the newly lowered mig-15bis and give my general thoughts on BR compression. Next up, lim-5p: that thing at 8.7 is even more egregious.
Does the mig-15 belong at 8.3? In my opinion, no, but saying that, it should also be said the f104 doesn't belong at 9.3, lol. I believe compression is one of the largest issue this game faces, only because it directly affects gameplay. Yeah, you can certainly say the grind or the existence of the marketplace might be issues with this game, and I might even agree with you, but they don't directly make you prosper or suffer in a match the way compression can. As time goes on it seems like compression only gets worse & worse and eventually something is going to need to be done. Obviously it will never be perfect but I feel like it could get a whole lot better than we have now, lol.
Spoiler alert: changing vehicle BR's like this is systematically not going to fix the issue. It might alleviate some compression here & there for adjusted vehicles, but by design, another will always fill its place. In my opinion, the only way to truly address the issue of compression is to reassign the entire BR system. I'm not an expert and I don't know how increasing BR's to 14.0 or maybe making matches total BR range 0.7 would affect queue times, but, I will say I am willing to wait an extra 20 seconds for a game if it means it'll be more captivating.
If you need a squadron in game, join the =Nimbo= squadron! The only requirement is at least 5 games in any realistic battles game mode. Make sure you stay active if you do join, or you will receive das boot- if that happens feel free to rejoin anytime if you plan on being active. This is main reason why I do not bother with Air RB anymore and went to sim.
Friendly Migger comes to the rescue. Mig 15 bis is probably my favourite pre-afterburner jet. Here are some tips and tricks for you players who want to get it when it's on 8.3 BR right now (or just wanting to pick it up).
Set fuel to 9 min and you will get 9:46 on airfield, just enough to give you a perfect nice fit on a sortie. 5 min fuel is probably the peak performance as you still have good amount of fuel to duel and like 110% of your 10 min-fuel performance.
Mig 15 bis has same aerodynamics as the Lim 5P, he only needed to bait you into a 2 circle then he would just win. Most of the time, they wont cut their afterburner, just do some barrel rolls with him and if you can survive till you hit 600 IAS, hit airbreak, cut engine, follow with takeoff flaps and most of the time he will fly past you in the barrel roll. (Do not suggest against the F86F/K because they have better roll rates).
Best to learn to use weapon selection as your ammo count is limited.
IAS 500 < you can use takeoff flaps, use it more aggressively to get some boosted lift when you still have air flowing past your wings.
This comment is just for you Nimbosoup, you have to trust your instinct and stop waving your nose up and down when someone is about to overshoot or just get more trigger disciplined but basically it messes with your flight path immensely because you can't roll with a mig. You are great in air rb but you are making crucial mistakes with the early migs. They have terrible roll rates. Waving that nose around is going to cost you seconds to get nose on. Better to line it up and hope he passes or just try again if he doesnt.

Just a 10 year old blue snowball and some good ole fashioned audacity filters :) I would like to upgrade but I'm not too well versed in audio plus that stuff is crazy expensive!

Gaijin could up their top BR to 15 or so and immediately fix every BR compression issue in the game. Just start at the bottom and make sure each era of vehicle feels that way in game. In up-tiers, you maybe see some of the first vehicles from the next era, or vehicles that fit that era. I don't see how this is really that difficult.
Gaijin has no financial reason to keep the BRs so compressed. This isn't world of tanks where you have a much more difficult time getting "premium shells."

German Mig19S is an absolute monster at its own br and downtiers. In an uptier, it's trash lmao
Only thing the mig 19 can’t do in an up tier is catch most opponents, otherwise, I find it very fun.

My sweet spot at 10.0 is being overrun by migs, more than normal it seems. I gotta work on the Russian tree or figure out what I'm doing wrong in life 😂
That's odd to be honest, they must be shifting around some balancing in tiers 7-8. I'm sure it's on gaijin and not on you :)
9.3 is the same, MIG 19 and 21 everywhere
Mig 15bis ish is absolute war crime at 8.0 u can face me262 on the regular...
I mean, the fact the Spitfire Mk 24 got a lower BR itself is a warcrime of another calibre. I've played it, played against it and it's just absolutely cracked to the point where 6.7 doesn't even make sense for it.
@@faei1897 I mean it is pretty on par with the P51H so without overall decompression it is much better at 6.7 than 7.0
@@JordanCorkins I'd say it's better than the P51H and 152C for quite a few roles that just... matter more in every BR.
