So they allow themselves to only be taken as far as their biggest player takes them. if it’s a conscious decision, it’s so that they don’t have to shoulder any of the backlash. if it’s happening subconsciously, it’s a result of their anxiety and trying to survive this immense pressure they’ve never felt, and seeing that biggest player as the source, so they make them into a shield for it, or an enemy for bringing them into this situation they’ve never handled before and scares them. they might not know that it scares them, or say it outwardly,, but most professional footballers, especially ones that make the starting squad for their national team, are used to being the best amongst their peers for yearsssss and yearsssss, to being the one to push their team into new heights,, but once it’s someone else doing it, and forcing them into a realm they haven’t ventured themselves yet,,, if they are not totally and completely bought into that person (like the 2022 argentina team was bought into messi), then they grow disdain for them. and remember,, while they are national teammates,, they are also competitors for their normal jobs. so they will try and protect themselves, and if they see a crack in that biggest players armor, some will attack it so that others don’t attack them, or so they can gain an upper hand against them and be viewed on the same level or greater than them,,, only it’s not by merit, but by dragging them down to lower than them, like a bully.
The thing is, Kane is usually their whole attack, this creates a less of an important role for musiala. Musiala was one of the reasons why Bayern won last season as well
